Bin Laden - celebrations

I can't believe this thread has made it to 47 pages without getting closed lol.

More Breaking News from Bikini Bottom:

After a community picnic, 99% of Bikini Bottom's residents are severely ill. Visability in Bikini Bottom is at 0 %. Film at 11.

Let me start by saying how happy I am that Bin Laden was caught. I think it´s amazing that the US Army was able to find him after all these years!
BUT....and yes, there is a but, I am disgusted by the celebrations in the streets. Just as much as I was disgusted by seeing muslim celebrations after 9/11.

Here's hoping you get over amazement real soon. Let's Celebrate:cheer2:

I am also celebrating the fact that I haven't heard anything out of Donald Trump's blow hole in the last 3 days!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I have read that he did compare gay marriage to golf clubs (yes, seriously, look it up). I am kinda sorry I didn't get to see the reaction of the person he was speaking to.

Why must New York endure all the terrorism -- first al Qaeda and now Trump. :rotfl2:

My family and I were sitting together talking when ABC broke in with a Special Report, my mother promptly changed the channel (instead of raising the volume) :lmao: and could not figure out how to change it back (darn new-fangled picture boxes) :lmao: By the time my brother got the remote and changed it back the news had broke. We all sat in shock and relief.

As we continued to watch the reports, we noticed the number of people gathering to celebrate the news. However, I never once thought that they were celebrating someone's death. I'm sure they would have celebrated the same way if he was captured and brought in alive. I saw it as them celebrating this man being brought to justice...finally! Not unlike someone who has lost a loved one and their killer finally being brought to justice.

I am proud that we have a country that allows you to express yourself so freely. I respect your opinion that this victory should not be celebrated in this way, however, I respectfully ask that you please step aside and make room on the dance floor for those who want to do The Hustle! After all, what can you do about it?

To share my mom's reaction to OBL's assassination: She gave a quick nod and said "That'll hold ya!"

In all the threads and all the posts, I don't believe anyone has mentioned this point and I think you are 100% correct.

I just got home and heard that Obama has decided not to release the Osama death photos. What do you all think about this?

I don't agree with some of his other policies but, I am very grateful for his wise decision on this matter. In his words, "we don't need to spike the football" as it could incite radical muslim retaliation.

I'm not even sure why folks wanted them released (I didn't care either way). I know some have said they should release them to stop any conspiracies - but quite frankly even with a picture there is still going to be conspiracies.

I'm sure he's giving a speech at a middle school somewhere dropping F bombs like a B-52.

They named a drink after obl - two shots and a splash of water. :lmao:
