I don't really care one way or another about Toby and I don't really like country but I do like that song.

Well, I have to point out that they acted no better. Besides who are they to judge HIS songs or words or actions?

Toby Keith has said what many, many people were feeling. He has a world of respect for the military and has really put his feelings out there. It is really a shame that he has to be judged harshly for that.




Everyone keeps saying that celebrations are "disturbing". I can't help but wonder what really went on on the ship that buried him at sea?

I happen to love Toby Keith, we go to see him in concert twice a year. He has gone to visit the troops every year for the past nine years. I love this song that he wrote:

I do believe in free speech, however I did not agree with the Dixie Chicks knocking our president (even though he was not a president I wanted in office), while they were in another country, during a time of war. It was really poor taste.

I'm sure they celebrated the accomplishment of the mission, which they should. However I would hope that, if we did give him a true Islamic burial rite, that, out of respect for the Muslims in our military, that people didn't act like idiots during the rite.

I think you took that post in a very wrong way.

I think what the poster was saying that of course they celebrated completing the mission but if they truly did give him a proper Islamic burial, that they did it with respect and didn't say...spit on his corpse or kick it around.

I was saying that I would hope that during a sacred rite of burial, people would observe the necessary decorum required of such a rite. Whether I'm a Hindu, a Muslim, a Christian or whatever, I would always respect the rites and rituals of another religion, ESPECIALLY when there are others on that ship that more than likely practice that religion.
