I´m not complaining. I´m voicing my opinion. Not telling you what to do nor telling you how to feel.



Yes, I feel it would have been wrong.
I keep hearing people on the news say "Justice has been done". Do you really feel that killing Obama is justice for the 3000 lives that were lost?

Nothing will ever take away the pain and sorrow 9/11 stirs, but it's a damn good start.

there is a huge difference between celebrating the death of an admitted killer and celebrating that killers actions while hoping he kills more people.

No one here, at least not that i saw, were in the streets burning pakistani or saudi flags or firing ak47's into the air. We weren't chanting for the slaughter of innocent people or hoping for civilian deaths. We were celebrating the death of one man who admitted he committed the crimes he was accused of.

This is a win for the us and for everyone who osama targeted and lets remember that just as often as not those targets were other muslims.

There is nothing wrong with not wanting to celebrate but there is no reason to tell other people that they shouldn't. I have not yet once seen anyone say that everyone should be out in the streets lighting off fireworks and turning over cars.

Eliza, forgive me my opinion, but I feel like you and I can agree disagree argue whatever about 9-11 and Bin Laden because we lived it, it happened to US and not the nice lady who lives in Iceland criticizing the way Americans choose to react. I was criticizing some of you for your jumping up and down over the killing, but I get patriotically riled up on this occasion when a person such as Freyja criticizes. That's my opinion.

And I'm sure you are patriotic. This has nothing to do with a fellow American.

I have a lot of compassion for your country, I really do! And I´m not trying to tell anyone how to feel or how not to feel. I´m just telling you how I feel about it.

Let me start by saying how happy I am that Bin Laden was caught. I think it´s amazing that the US Army was able to find him after all these years!
BUT....and yes, there is a but, I am disgusted by the celebrations in the streets. Just as much as I was disgusted by seeing muslim celebrations after 9/11.

I am disgusted by anyone who claims to be disgusted by the celebrations in the streets.

Maybe if you lost a kid or two you have more sympathy and understanding of our celebrations in the streets.

If you don't like them, too bad.

I pointed that out on an earlier post...I think it was this thread. There is NO comparison. No flag burning or chants of Death to Muslims. We peacefully and joyfully celebrated the death of an evil man.

I can understand, I think though that dissenting opinions are good and should definitely be allowed. even if it is from some one possibly not as close to the situation.

I a civil rights kid and as much as I loathe, hate and despise the KKK I would always fight for their right to lawfully and peaceful express their opinions.

We can't censure people simply because they don't live here or they are not the right sex, etc, etc.

Fredjye, stated an opinion. she said she found the celebrations distastefull, that's her opinion. We might not agree with her but if we are going to say we support the troops, wouldn't the best way to show that support be to stand up for exactly what they are fighting for?

This is called the dis discussion forum, how can we have a "discussion" form if we beat up every one who had a opposing argument?

Isn't that why the topics of religion and politics got banned in the first place? the name calling and attacks became too much for the mods to handle.

We have to allow all opinions without name calling, innuendos and attacks.

When I heard that we had got him, my first reaction was disbelief actually, then when I put on the news I cried for a long time.........

I don't understand why, but I cried too.

Maybe we should send flowers to his wife, you know, send our condolences.

Actually CNN was reporting tonight that that information was wrong. It wasn't his wife and the woman was not being used as a shield.

no, there is a wrong here- comparing those animals celebrating in the streets when over 3000 innocent men, women and children were murdered to American's celebrtaing the fact the man responsible was finally face to face with the smoking barrel of justice.
