Hey everybody this is my first PTR so bear with me :goodvibes
So i guess ill start with who is going:

There is me (Becky) 22 will be 23 in August, i currently work for the Department of Corrections and i have 3 wonderful nieces that i love with all my heart i call them my kids anyway i have been to WDW 3 or 4 times and love it

Then there is my boyfriend (Billy) 22 and is currently a Marine serving in Afghanistan since January 2011 and will hopefully be home by December and he has never been to WDW and has agreed to go with me

So the plan is to leave on March 20th (our 2nd year anniversary) and drive the 10 hours to get to WDW and celebrate everything that we have missed since he has been gone (bdays, christmas, and our anniversaries) we will be staying at the AKL arusha view room till the 25th and then come back home to nc. the only thing that he knows is that we are going to WDW for 6 days and thats it so im planning everything for us and all he says he wants to do is spend time with me and have fun:love:

today was a good day spent time with my nieces and got to talk my wonderful boyfriend who is getting excited about going to disney. im just trying to figure out something really special to do for him when we go so if anyone has suggestions im open to them hope everybody as a good day:goodvibes

ok so i just got off of the phone with disney and we are now going on march 19 - 25 this way we wont have to travel on our anniversary woohoo and they made a note that itll be our anniversary and his first visit and asked if we were getting married cause the trip was next year and i couldnt help but laugh:rotfl2:

Hi! Sounds like you two have a lot of catching up to do :goodvibes Great idea not traveling on your actual anniversary - more fun to spend it in the arks than in a car :thumbsup2

Where are you guys staying? Have you thought of a special anniversary dinner? Oh, you could go to the Poly and watch the MK fireworks from the beach - that sounds nice and romantic.

Hi tzeitel yea that was my thought exactly and it made it a day closer to when we leave lol this trip is pretty much taking up all my time now so im not always thinking of what he is doing. we are staying at the animal kingdom lodge since ive never stayed there and i can splurge so he has an awesome trip and will want to go back lol its my gift to him. im thinking about doing a dinner but im not sure where there are soo many choices. we might do the poly and watch the fireworks that does sound really romantic and special. thanks:cool1:

Another place you could take him to (if you think he might overdose on Disney) is ESPN Club and then Jellyrolls over at the Boardwalk.

i thought about espn and we might go there depends on him but im hoping as soon as he steps foot on disney soil he will then become addicted to it like me lol and he has already said that when we get engaged we can get married there so im holding him to it:cloud9:

Here is a picture of us the day he left for Afghanistan

Hey I found your PTR!

First off... a big THANKS to your husband for his service!!! I know you have hard job too being the wife. Spending some time together in Disney on your anniversary will be great!!! I haven't seen the AKL myself but it seems like it would be a beautiful place to stay. There are a couple of great restaurants inside of AKL, like Boma & Jiko, do you plan to make ADR's for either of those?
Make sure to pick up your "Happy Anniversary" celebration buttons! It's fun to have all of the CMs in the parks wishing you a happy anniversary! :goodvibes

Maybe consider doing something like the Wishes dessert party at MK on your anniversary??

Hey :woohoo: its def hard him being away but this trip is keeping me busy and he is looking forward to it so its win win. i havent been to AKL either so thats exciting i know i wanna do a special dinner for our anniversary just not sure what. and we are def going and getting the buttons and he will have two cause of his first trip

so nothing about disney ive been at my nieces birthday party its hard to believe they are 3 and twin 2 year olds cant wait to take them to disney in a year or two

ok so when i talked to my boyfriend we agreed that since we dont have that many pictures of us we are going to get some professional pics done and surprise our parents with some of the pictures for christmas so does anyone have a suggestion for who we could use

I am checking in-I saw you post n another pre-TR (mine is in my siggy).

I wish we had traveled to WDW before we had kids, but we got hooked after our 1st family trip-I am sure you will have a blast!

I know there are photographers at Wilderness Lodge-you may want to call your resort-I am sure there are BEAUTIFUL photo spots at AKL to take pictures!

I remember when my DH was in the militay and would deploy-luckily for us it was to a not dangerous area so I did not have the worries, but still being cut off from communication from someone you love is always hard. I am sure your family helps keep you going!

Hey well my plan is hopefully he will fall in love with disney like i have and go every year (fingers crossed) but i havent even thought about talking to the resort about photographers thanks. luckily the only time he is off base is when he does convoys im so thankful for that. yea my family helps me and i try and visit his family as much as i can his sister and i have started becoming closer so we keep each other going:love:

Subbing in! Kudos and thanks to your DBF for his service! Another restaurant that would be good for a celebration dinner is Narcoosee's at the GF or California Grill at CR. Can't wait to hear how AKL is - we debated between there and CR - CR won out only because of the monorail. With 2 little ones, it's just easier. Can't wait to hear more! :thumbsup2

yea i thought about CR but ive never stayed at AKL and i figured whats a better way to say welcome home than doing it up at the world since he has never been and he doesnt have anything to worry about dealing with money since its my gift to him:love:

so i talked to Billy yesterday and he is thinking he will be home end of november or beginning of december :cool1: i just miss him so much and wish he could help with the planning but when i ask what he wants to do all he says is relax and spend time with me. still trying to figure out what to do for some professional pics

Sorry its been a few days but ive been working and talked to Billy and he said i can start looking at engagement rings woohoo:banana: im even more excited now that ive had time to think about

wow-that is very exciting!!!!! I also helped pick out my ring:thumbsup2

My DH was in boot camp when he proposed. He came home on his Christmas Break from Boot Camp and asked me to marry him and we got married 4 days later. That's right we had a 4 day engagement, LOL. But coming up this December (right after our Thanksgiving trip) we will have been married for 17 years so I guess that quick decision worked out okay for us, LOL.

Friends we are traveling with were also military and had a quick engagement and they have been married for I think 15 years.:thumbsup2

since he is deployed imma look at rings and then when he gets home he want to go look to so im saying by christmas wear it and he says not till our anniversary when we will be in disney world. but i think i can talk him into december letting me wear it hopefully

congrats on the official go-ahead to look at engagement rings! exciting! i helped pick mine out too - gotta give these guys some pointers or who knows what they'll come home with! :lmao:
