There is a billboard in MGM Studios that features: For Lease, KLS-1265
Anyone know the meaning of For Lease, KLS-1265 and what it stands for?

Well...I would assume that KLS-1265 is a phone number (like when they used to use the old exchanges). I haven't seen the Billboard so I'm not sure if it is really for lease (i doubt it), or just an old throwback like a lot of MGM's "stuff".

Have to agree but I think it's KL5, as in Klondike 5, not KLS. KL5 on a phone would be 555.

I would also bet that there is some significance to KL5-1265 from an old movie. There is probably a line in an old movie somewhere like "Operator, get my Klondike 5-1265."

Yeah, they use KL5 (Klondike 5) so that people do not try and call that number and harrass whomever lives there. But I'm sure you all know that

Yes, I agree. There's got to be some significance. Disney has significance in everything! Now, who's the trivia buff that'll find out what it is?

Since so many folks don't know (or care) about the KL5 (555) "non-functioning" exchange, I imagine the misreading by the sign-maker (if that's what it was) was simply not corrected due to its insignificance.

It may even be a play on the Klondike 5 exchange. It may be one of the Studio imagineers initials are KLS and born in December 1965.

ok, I know it doesn't solve the mystery, but I saw the sign on the 24th of April and it is KLS. Still no clue what it means.

I am looking at the sign. It IS KL5 (five) 1265. As in Klondike 5-1265. Nothing at Disney doesn't have significance..especially a giant billboard. But what?

Klondike 5 is the 555 phone exchange and most movies will use 555-xxxx for the phone number because it doesn't connect anywhere -

Beats me! I found a few December 1965 tidbits of Disney history. Not sure of any of them could be a reference to the billboard?

December 1965 was the first issue of the Disney News (he official Magic Kingdom Club publication) which became the Disney Magazine until its demise in 2005.

Section 1265 in Star Wars was the location of zelcomm tower. This company was a facade for illegal weapons smuggling. Take the leap with me......maybe Disney is trying to let us know they are actually a front for the illegal collection and dissemination of personal information....I knew those magic bands were too good to be true.
