bikinis in public

They don't really make bikinis in my size (well they do but :scared1: ) but even if I could find one I felt comfortable in, there is NO WAY my fat butt is strolling around anywhere except the beach or a pool in one. And even then, unless I'm in the water, I'm probably wrapping up in a towel.

I don't think it's really appropriate attire. Shouldn't be banned or anything, but...I certainly wouldn't do it. Even if I could.

One of the neighbors down the street cuts her grass in a string bikini. I know it's hot but that's just plain dangerous!

You guys are just so mean! If I want to tuck (and shove and squeeze and push) myself into a bikini and take my kids to the bus stop or mow my lawn while wearing it I should be able to! You all are just jealous!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I remember living in south Florida in the 70s and 80s, we never thought twice about going out in public in our bikinis. It was just a way of life (and I have a better body too ;). I probably owned more bathing suits than any other article of clothing then....ahhhhhh...those were the days.

I wear a bikini top with shorts in the parks sometimes, when I want to get sun. That is WDW though, and pretty much anything goes there (well, within reason). I would not do that in the general public away from WDW, but at a bus stop....maybe.

Slightly OT but-- I have to say that in May we were at WDW and there was a "girl" (I'd say mid 40's) who had just ridden Kali River Rapids. She was in a TINY green bikini and had MAJOR LEAGUE ENHANCEMENTS done. I wasn't offended by any means but I had to laugh as she just looked foolish.

But I will admit that if she were a little younger and a few hundred "CC's" less of assistance she would have looked good and I wouldn't have minded a bit.

I have to give credit where credit is due....she had great legs and a flat tummy.

I think when someone does that in public they're just looking for attention. Imo just because they can doesn't mean they should;) I wouldn't embarass my kids by showing up at their bus stop like that.

I was in Puerto Rico, and this was EVERYWHERE within 10 blocks of the beach... they got MY attention! ::yes::

Ummm.... you are supposed to wear CLOTHES in the parks - it is stated right on your guidmap! It makes me so angry when I see women walking around in bikini tops at WDW.

Thank you for posting this. I thought the same thing immediately. WDW is not a place for sunning. You do that at the pool or beach. Not on the Dumbo ride.:cutie:

No one has ever said ANYTHING about my bikini top, if you don't like it, hunt me down and throw me out. I even go through the security checkers for my bags and they say nothing.

Dare I say, most guests appreciate me AND my top!:bitelip: I'm not alone, there are tons of guests in swim tops!

Yeah, would you please tell the fat housewives that Dumbo is not the place to show their "Mom skirts.....huge skin fold at the bikini line" with their halter tops and short shorts.

I would rather see a nice body in a bikini top, than an obese person in tank top or halter top and shorts. That is just nasty.

Wow! Who cares if anyone has said anything to you? The poster was saying it was against the rules of the park. No need to get rude about it because you don't want to follow the rules. Personally I have never seen anyone in a swim top at WDW in the parks so no, there are not "tons of guests" wearing them. Oh- and I highly doubt that anyone "appreciates" you as much as you think. But thanks for being snippy when the rules were pointed out to you.:cutie:

If I say anything further, I will get kicked off the DIS. But, let me just say this:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder dear. However, the rules are no bathing suits. So what you look like isn't the issue here.
