Biggest Loser "Sizzlin' Hot" Summer Challenge

I have potentially great and life changing news to share. Maybe it won't seem like a big deal to anyone who isn't me, but to me it's AMAZING news. I have finally talked to my mom and dad and we have decided together that quitting Petsmart is the best thing for me at this moment in time. Basically right now I'm getting about 4 hours a week there, and in the Fall i will only be able to work one day a week, and out new manager is crazy, things are not going well. This has been something that's a long time coming but I have to say it feels so right. I am going to see if I can work just holidays and school breaks, but knowing my manager she will not like that idea, and if she says no I will give her my two weeks.

I'm like nervous and ecstatic all at the same time. It feels like I'm ending a chapter of my life and starting a new one...just...wow. I don't know when I'll be able to finalize it, probably not till Wednesday or Thursday but it's happening!

Sometimes something like this is just the best thing for us and can make us feel so much easier in our minds. I once had a committee like that and the feeling when I resigned from it :banana::banana:

I am all about the VIllians. I have a Villian poster in my classroom. ONe class asked why did I have the villians. I told them that they are the ones I enjoy the most. One student's reply was "Mrs. Coffey I never knew you had a dark side."

Who is you favorite villian?


I do like Captain Hook. I have met him a couple of times. I also love Cruella.

My favorite villain is most definitely Ursula. She is just so freaking cool! And her lair just can't be beat...then again I'm pretty partial to all things Little Mermaid ;)

Favorite Villains are Evil Queen and Hook. We get great reaction from both. DH always screams she's the fairest of them all and we get great shots.
Then during Spectro we crow like Peter and yell Hook is a Codfish!! Great reactions from both characters.

DH had bought me a Claddhagh ring for me when we first started dating. I haven't been able to wear it in well over a year. I tried it on today and while it's a little snug it fit!! YAY!!!! The other ring I had been wearing was starting to spin and I was afraid I'd lose it, so I'm thrilled with snug!!
 

Afternoon everybody :wave:

Short day at work today and rainy off and on. Got a walk in with Onslow in between rain showers. Not as long as he would have liked but we got all his business done and made it back to the house just before the skies really opened.

Then i had lunch and did my new video again. Tried for 30 minutes, made it through 25. I can choose targeted chapters so i programmed for the Upper body, Abs, and the flexibility chapters. Made it through the Upper Body, but sunk half way through the Abs, so I stopped it and finished up with the flexibility. Those are the 2 areas I want to work the most. Eventually I'll add in the Lower body, but since i walk all the time at work I can wait for that.

Anyhow, the video is still hard but with just a small modification I am decent in my form and will get better each time I do it. With any luck I will soon see a difference in my flabby arms. :rolleyes1
 
QOTD: Maleficent is hands down my favorite Villain. I don't think I've gotten to see her in the parks though.

I've been slacking with keeping up with the board. Its been a stressful few days and I'm trying to figure things out. Hoping it all works out in the end. I think Alan and I are going to take Saturday night for just the two of us and hang out at the Poly, have a few drinks, and watch fireworks there or at Grand Floridian.

This is the pool at AKL(sorry it is so small). I know that weather plays a big part of our exercise programs. If you could have the perfect weather and equipment what would like to do all year long?

I wish I had a pool that I could swim in all the time. I have to travel to swim any more and I miss it.

I am asking for PD for ds1. He has a job interview sometime next week (before we leave) for a full time position. He has been in this position for the last two years and it has gone to other people. Send some PD so that we get good news while we are in DW.

Off to move laundry. I have already gotten in a bike ride and a short yoga stretch this morning.

Happy Wednesday all! We are officially back from vacation...... 7 days in Maine with my family and 3 days on Cape Cod with DH's family.

I'm on my third load of laundry for the day....trying to get it all done today, as I will be away with DH all day tomorrow at the hospital (day surgery).

Vacation eating was more out of control than it has ever been.....I could make lots of excuses, but I won't. Started fresh today, as is my custom after a vacation. Will weigh in as usual on Friday to get the bad news and will move forward.

Will find some time tonight to try to catch up here. Praying that everyone is well and healthy and enjoying the remainder of their summer! TTYL..............P

I love to swim. Its easier on my joints and muscles and I just love how relaxed I feel while I'm in the pool. Then I get out and about 20 minutes later I'm feeling the burn in my muscles and I feel accomplished because of my incredible workout.

Magical Moment pixiedust: When I was at Magic Kingdom with Alan and 2 of my friends in 2010. We were going through the line at Mickey's house in Toon Town waiting to see them. We were talking back and forth and a cast member walked up to me and asked us to follow her. We weren't quite sure what to expect. She put us at the front of the line! I'll never forget that.

QOTD: Running. It's hot, so I'm on the treadmill. A cool front moved in this evening and it was gorgeous, I wish it was like that all year round because I'd be outside running everyday. It would also be nice to have an outdoor yoga room or something like that.

Hope you all had a fabulous day. Got 30DS in at 6:30AM yesterday (I really believe the thing they say about your body not knowing what it's doing that early, because it was over ina flash!) and about 3 miles on the TM tonight. Even if I'm not moving up in distance, I'm moving in speed. In May I was running 5mph and walking 3.8. Now I'm walking 4 and running 6mph!

Fav activity, zumba. Weather can do anything as long as it is not super hot where we're dancing!

Have you ever been to DW or DL for a special holiday?


The last time we were there they were getting ready to set up for Halloween. Everytime we went back to MK they added more things for Halloween. I know that dh has planned that we have to see Halloween and Christmas (NOT Christmas week)

Good vibes to everyone for weigh in tomorrow! I have stuck to plan 6 of 7 days, hopeful for a loss...pushing through hard for this last month, feeling my body losing, that is a cool place to be!! The first 40 pounds, just really could not tell...but now my body is morphing and I am beginning to see outlines of a healthy body again! Big motivator!

Not for the date of the event we went the end of sept. and saw MK for halloween and went to MNSSHP

The other is the sat after Thanksgiving to see DW decked out for Christmas :santa: it's very magical.
 
We went in 2007 at the begining of Dec and stayed at the WL....OMG it was amazing!!
WE are trying to figure out a way to swing a trip in Oct to see the Halloween decoration (pray, pray)

Well hello gang....things have been crazy as usual around here. I have been so tired mentally and physically and can't seek to get into a good routine.
Am really struggling this week as both kids have started "hell week" which means 2 practices a day which means high carb diet in this house to keep them fueled :( Any good suggestions as to how to manage meals without having to cood 2 seperate things??
Anyone have good healthy carb suggestions?? Neither of them will eat breakfast in the morning before the first practice (1. because they don't get up soon enought, 2. because it seems to be heavy on their stomach during practice)....any good suggestions???

a month away from trip to Disneyland....bitter sweat as it will be with co-workers and not family. Would really like to drop 5-10 but if I can't get a grip that is just not going to happen :( it has been so long since I have had some real exercise...i don't think i could run to the end of the driveway at this point!!

Working from home today but am going to avoid as much work as possible and try to get some work done around the house....just really feel like a need some time off to get everything and everyone in order!!!!

Going to spend some time catching up on you all now!!

What is the name of the video? It sound interesting that you can program it. I could target the upper body and leave the knees be!

I enjoy walking and biking, but I feel there is such a small window of good weather in spring and fall - I'm very picky about the weather, and hate the year-round humidity here. If I am stuck indoors, I would like a treadmill. We have one of the old Nordic ski machines, but need to set it up again, and room is limited (and no idea where I would put a treadmill).

We have been there for Halloween serveral times - it coincides with my DS's school break! They are usually putting on the Christmas decorations by the time we leave, but have not seen the decorated Castle lit up yet - but someday! I think Christmas would be awesome!

It is quite subtle at first, and then you start seeing things coming through. I still see a difference when I walk in a place with a mirror and I can't believe I look so different! And I still have about 15-25 pounds to go! It is a good feeling to start seeing and feeling the difference, and you are right, super motivator!

Oatmeal is the only really good carb that comes to mind, but whole wheat breads and pasta. DS usually has a few cheerios before he goes out on his runs, then comes home and eats protein - usually our sandwich meat!

Well, my cursor got stuck, was not showing up and when I typed was not where I needed it - so I hit escape and it wiped out my answers and had to start all over again. And on top of that, has anyone noticed smiley's coming and going? I was looking for the cheer one and did not want to open the window :rolleyes:.

Well, most of the Olympics over and I finally got a good nights sleep - I overslept! Oh well, I guess I needed it and my boss is out this week anyway. Of course, when I oversleep so does everyone else!

DS did not start running since the dentist put those bands in. It is slowly getting better. We are going to Mt Vernon on Sunday for his AP History assignment, hope he feels better then. He really wants to start practice on Monday, or he will be so far behind he'll never really get up to speed. They gave us the schedule. The regionals are on 11/1, and we are scheduled to fly off to WDW at 9:50 that night! His first year in XC, he probably won't be in them, but am going over in my head how to work that since it is an evening meet. Hope he has time to grab a shower before we get on the plane :worried:.

It has really been quiet on these boards - I guess everyone is out on vacation or enjoying the last bit of summer. Me...I can't wait for school to start (although DS can). I like a set routine, and the summer is a little too loose. Plus it means the end of hot weather and our WDW trip getting closer!

Have not been OP all week. Too crazy and too tired. Trying to be good today - again - but weigh in tomorrow will probably be ugly.

I start coaching tomorrow, but I might try posting the QoTD before I turn in tonight, if I am awake enough to do it ;)! Mornings never seem to have enough time.
