It is a crazy Monday around here. Phone problems, computer problems, people dropping by to see the new office. I just realized that I am the pants I am wearing are blue, not black like I thought -- but my shoes are black so I am a bit gauche.
I'll be back later for more replies.
Sorry your Monday was crazy! Hoping Tuesday is better!
Well, 28 kindergarteners (just my son's class~and 3 classes went) will wear you out. We went to a farm and to a HUGE playground at a park. They had a blast, but I am so tired! And, 6 year olds say the funniest things. One girl told me they don't go to Wendy's very much anymore because it's getting too expensive. They do go to China Wok (buffet), though. And, I got schooled on Reeboks by a little boy. He told me what kind and color to get, as well as where to buy them. Kids are too cute. I almost wish I could freeze time. 9 and 6 are great ages. I hope I keep thinking that when they are 19 and 16
I'm glad I am finally caught up. Hello to all the losers from the last challenges and to the new losers! I can't wait to share the summer challenge with all of you. And, I love the name!
I just got DSs in bed. Now it's time to clean up around here and get to bed at a decent hour. DSs aren't done with school until Wed, so Dsis and I are walking at 9 am tomorrow. It's supposed to be chilly, so I hope I make it the whole hour without needing hot chocolate lol. I'll be back on after my walk, so have a good night.
Jill
That sounds like a fun day with the kids! Glad you were able to enjoy it and appreciate it.
Today was a great day!! I swear I became ADHD overnight. I was acting like DS10 when he's not on his meds.
I got a ton of chores done. I ate 100% OP tonight and even had calories left over before any form of exercise. I got over 10,000 steps in today.
The only thing I didn't do was an official workout. DH is dragging his feet on getting the treadmill down off blocks (flood warning a few weeks ago, and the treadmill is in the basement). But just sitting here jiggling my legs, I probably got 5 miles in!! LOL
I hope tomorrow is just as good. I just felt awesome today!
I LOVE those kinds of days! Wish I could bottle them and uncork them on days when I can't seem to get anything done!

I think I am going to pick all of these too. Tomorrow is my last day of school. We had our graduation dinner tonight for our 5th graders. It is so nice. The teachers serve the students and their parents then we have a slide show. My youngest son is graduating from his school on Wednesday and they do the same thing. I will be crying my eyes out. .... then my oldest graduates on Thursday. He is the valedictorian of his class and will be giving a speech. I am trying to hold myself together here ....

It is really happy times ... but hard to see my babies grow up.
Anywhoo .... The children's quotes are perfect for me. This is the way my whole work day revolves. ANYONE can do ANYTHING! I have the best job in the world.
This is a bad week for me and I don't think I am going to be able to respond to anyone. I will be reading and lurking .... Keep up all the good work!
I'm sure that you are SUPER proud of your kiddos!
We'll miss you this week, but look forward to seeing you here when the schedule permits!
I started a new adventure today -- I started boot camp today! Umm, did I mention that I went through a phase where I bought too many Groupons? (Ha!) One of them was for a 4-week outdoor boot camp at a nearby park. It's an ongoing series, but today was a "test" day where they encourage people to start so they can measure your abilities. After warming up with a couple of laps around the track, we did some calisthenic warmups and then got to testing -- run a mile, do pushups and sit-ups for a minute each, and to squats and planks for as long as possible. It was a good way to meet the other recruits and cheer each other on. All in al, a good 60 minutes of activity!
Also stayed within my calorie goals today, and drank plenty of water. AND I just remembered that I should take my vitamin... so I'll sign off and do that now.
Happy Monday everyone!!!
The boot camp sounds fun and challenging. Enjoy it.
Good morning all.
A much better start to today then I had yesterday. And the sun is pusing its way through the clouds so it looks like it will shape up to be a nice one.
Can't believe we are already half way through the first week of the Summer Challenge. Time is truly flying.
I have to get all my students reports written this week as they are due Monday. Busy times. School ends on the 29th so I am in full swing concert preparation mode with the students at school. That Friday is an hour long ceremony that entails all my Grade 1 to Grade 5 Students singing together for 3 songs. No rest until the last note is sung that morning.
Today I will do my 2nd work out for C210K. I will try it on a treadmill this time to help me monitor my speed better. Just not sure about the transitions between walk and run as I will need to figure out which buttons to press to accomplish that efficiently. Well trial and error I guess. As long as I don't do something that speeds it up and I go flying off theback.

Looking forward to the QOTD. It is usually here when I get going in the morning but maybe Lisah's computer is still giving her some troubles.
Have a great Day 5!!!
Christopher
Good luck getting through your busy week and good luck with the C25K.
Over the past few years I've devised many "mental" plans for dealing with various situations (parties, eating out, drive-thru emergencies). And I've learned to get right back OP with the very next meal if things do go totally wrong.
QOTD Tuesday, June 5, 2012: It doesn't matter how great your plan is sooner or later something unexpected is going to come up. Do you have an alternative course charted (aka a plan B) just for such occassions?
Plan B, I don't really have a plan B but I've always been one that kind of goes with the flow so I can change direction as the wind changes direction. In personal life, DH and I are pretty good communicators so we can switch gears, tag team, what ever to get things done.
When things get really tough I tend to mentally switch into Navy Wife mode. I grew up as a Coast Guard brat, and married into the Navy. I can plan special ops movements with the best of them with my crew. We always say, especially with travel, that it's like commanding a small army.
No wonder you handle your family's crazy schedule so well!
Quote of the Day
When nothing goes right, go left.
Switch gears, look at things from a different vantage point, redirect, refocus.
Plan B.
Thanks!
I will apologize in advance for not touching base with people individually. Today is another ADHD day and my brain is just not functioning in a way that I can have specific conversations. I'm rolling with these bad boys though because I'm getting tons done!!
I was 100% OP yesterday with calories to spare. Today I plan to do the same.
I have been scale hopping every day. I know, I know, I shouldn't do that, but things are looking promising and it's only Tuesday so I'm using that as part of my motivation to keep moving quickly and efficiently.
I think, knock on wood, that I am getting a handle on this weight thing. While I did feel a little irritated because I really wanted ice cream yesterday, I did my research and 200-300 calories for 1/2 a cup of ice cream was just so no worth going over my calories! So I ate a sheet of graham crackers and they were just satisfying but for a fraction of the calories.
See I am learning!!!!
OK gotta get off this thing and keep moving. Dishes are calling my name! LOL
Sounds like you are keeping busy, as usual! And staying OP on top of everything! You deserve a WOOHOO!!

Happy Tuesday friends! I'm gonna keep this short, as it is already 10:30 and I am feeling behind schedule! I dropped DD and hit the dump, so at least that is done. And I put some laundry in the dryer, but now have 4 loads waiting to be folded! Stupid laundry.
DS's bed is made, but I still need to make mine and DD's. Emails are read and answered and dishwasher is running, but that is it. I'm picking the kids up early for dentist visits today. And we got a last minute email yesterday that DS has a b.ball game today at 5:30 in the next town.
I think I will have to bring his b.ball gear AND DD's swim gear with me when I leave here at 2:15. Then from the dentist we will go directly to drop off DS for b.ball at 5pm (and hopefully DH can meet us there), then drive DD to the pool for 5:30, dash back to see DS's game and then schlep back to the Y to get DD (although she made need an earlier-than-usual pick-up, as she has a big research paper to finish up for tomorrow)..... keeping in mind that the baseball field and the Y are at least 35 minutes apart and the dentist is at least 30 minutes from the b.ball field.

I see another empty fuel tank in my future.
Won't do me a darn bit of good to throw the chicken in the crockpot this morning because no one will be here to eat it! I need to make up some sandwiches and call it a picnic night. I have NO deli meat in the house and the guys had tuna melts two nights ago, so they probably wouldn't look forward to that again. Dang it. I'll figure something out. Perhaps I'll bake the chicken this morning and DH, DD, and I could have cold chicken drumsticks and salad.... but I'd need to think of something else for DS.
Okay..... I'm rambling here. Off to be productive...............P
