Biggest Loser show chit-chat

What a show! Can you believe we watched it the night it was broadcast? Shocking, but true.

I hate to say this, but I was less impressed by the Gray team last night! I thought they were showing their more competitive/ sore loser side and that's a bit less appealing than the sides we'd seen previous weeks.

I was more a fan of Miggy last night - poor thing with her surgery. I could not believe they let her walk that number of miles so soon after her operation and I really think that in the case of medical emergency, they need to have SOME sort of....you know, amnesty from elimination if it falls a certain number of days after a surgery when they pump you full of saline! Of course, good for her, it wasn't even a problem. But it was a LOT of stress for her, you could tell. It seems like even though she obviously misses her daughter, her mood has improved a LOT since Migdalia went home.

The Red Team - ah Red. Well, they were better this week, I suppose, but I'm sorry - whining at Bob for being tough in the training? Not going to get you anywhere.

I was really glad that Jillian had a chance to dig a little into what's really going on with Daris and especially with Ashley.

I thought it was interesting to see the dynamic when Jillian was making them all run for 5 on the treadmill - Stephanie really took a leadership role there and seemed to get everyone through it. Pretty cool.

And finally, I am so glad that the Yellow Team is back in the house! Go Minnesota! I wish they would have all been back for a week before the head-to-head elimination. The blue team has had one challenge and one las chance workout and that's it on campus! They seem like great ladies and fierce competitors, and it would have been nice to see more of them. That being said (as they always say at the elimination table), I am really excited for O'Neil and Sunshine to be back in the house. O'Neil has quite the turn of phrase. What was that about competitive bones again??? I am glad they didn't have to vote. Their talk about voting out whoever they have to to stay in the game to the end reminded me a little unfortunately of...Ron. Seems to me that at this point in the game, it is more important to vote based on forming alliances (and keeping people happy so you don't get a big target on your back, ahem, RED team) rather than eliminating threats.

It's going to be interesting going to individuals next week. :thumbsup2

P.S. I am getting annoyed with the immunity/2 pound penalty package on challenges. Could we PLEASE have a week without those being some of the prizes and penalties???

I thought for sure the red team was going to be the one below the yellow line. Oh well!

The ladies of the blue team were very gracious when the yellow team won the right to stay. I think they will continue to do well at home.

I also liked Miggy a lot more this week than in previous weeks.

I was so mad that somebody on the RED team didn't get eliminated. I like the husband more than the wife but not much. I'm psyched that John has lost over 100 pounds. Hope he can keep it up!

I thought at the very beginning-- those 2 green ladies were very tough. The daughter didn't have respect for Jillian which is unfortunate, but she had issues with her husband being shipped out which can happen any time and of course she was upset. With Miggy having an emergency appendectomy-- jeez-she said they removed a mass and something else too..that's one tough cookie. I'm glad Jill persisted and seemed to get through to Migadalia if only a little as a crack can lead to a break.
Kept hoping red would fall behind the line and they'd vote off the woman--he's no threat and her game playing makes her more dangerous.

I feel asleep at the end of the weigh-in and slept thru the elimination. Was there an elimination? Did anyone go home, and if so, could someone tell me who?

There was no need for a vote for elimination - John of the Brown team lost 5 pounds, I think it was, which was not enough to stay above the yellow line. Being a team of one, he automatically went home. He had lost over 100 pounds according to the update, and had shaved that strange beard! He and his brother work out and play basketball together.

It's funny how a lot of us have been commenting that we don't have a favorite team this season. When they brought back yellow and blue last night, I thought - these are my 2 favorite teams! I really wished they could both stay. But on the other hand, the blue ladies obviously have the right mentality and the ability to get results at home. So I'm sure they'll succeed even without campus.

Before last night's episode I had been hoping Miggy would go home, but she really grew on me. Actually I thought a lot of the teams seemed more likeable last night (kinder editing?).

Yes that sure was a STRANGE beard wasn't it? Nice way to put it! Glad to see that thing gone!

I really like Miggy! It seems like both she and Migdalia are softer/warmer/more open - not sure if it's because they feel that they don't have to be strong for each other or if there was some trash talk going on at the ranch and they isolated themselves and felt picked on or something, know what I mean?

Blue and Yellow are my favorites too! We were yelling at the tv last night "send red home! keep blue!" ;)

Ok so is it on at 8 or 9 tonight? On my TV, it says 8-9 is a repeat of the last hour of last weeks show. Then the new episode is 9-11.

On the BL Fan page on FB, it says the new episode is on at 8:confused3

DD is upset because if the new one is 9-11 she has to miss the second hour (she is 10, I let her stay up to watch normally, but 11 is pushing it).

We are heading for the treadmills at 7:45, she says she wants to walk for 45 minutes. Guess we will see when it comes on!

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! :scared1:It looks like the new episode isn't on until 9! I was going to watch the new episode and do the elliptical. I guess I'll have to do a 1 mile workout and then watch it in bed! I was hoping to be asleep early tonight!!!!!

Anyone seen if it will be on during the Olympics or is it taking a 2 week hiatus?

boo on the show being late!

btw...I can't stand the green team....bad attitudes!

I hated that it wasn't on until 9. I can barely make it to the weigh and elimnation when it ends at 10 there was not way I was making it to 11.

Thanks for the update. I will watch it on Friday night on FLN.

My dh had a hernia fixed and he was moving around pretty good the day after the surgery. But he paid for it on the 2nd day and was in a lot of pain.

Wow! Miggy- one day after surgery she did a half marathon! Walking, but still! Impressive. I didn't realize she wanted to stay so badly.

I was glad to see breakthroughs for Daris & Ashley. Esp. Ashley to get to release her guilt for her dad.

So glad for the yellow team. But I would of liked both to stay also!

I kept waiting for the one person to fall below because of the teaser last week (I hate those, it's like knowing kinda what's going to happen, and it stresses you out!) I really thought it would be Miggy. Good for her that it wasn't. She kinda grew on me this week too.

Whenever you see Bob in the kitchen, it's like: PRODUCT PLACEMENT! Yep, Jennie-O & Yoplait Smoothies. Thankfully, someone sponsers the show, so I can't mind it too much.

Okay, am I (and my DD) the only ones that sit and comment on Allison's clothes? Each week, we're like, that looks good, that not so good, hair, top, etc.

That is the truth about Bob in the kitchen! I am a vegetarian, but strangely, I didn't mind the Chili segment - Yes, there was a product placement, but it showed them cooking a healthy meal, at least.

The smoothie thing - so what is in those packages anyhow? Frozen berries and chunks of frozen yogurt? Sorry to say, but it seems like a bit of a silly product, given that you have to blend it yourself and add other ingredients! I'm not exactly clear on how it differs from just....making a smoothie in the blender with berries, yogurt and milk.:confused3

So, my BL show-watching friends, do you remember how I said yesterday that I had done the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga DVD? Well, today I am definitely hearing about it from my oblique abdominal muscles. Their response is along the lines of "Oh man. We had no idea THAT was coming." I'm not sure what move it was, but oh man! :)

Okay, so the situation with Miggy was a surprise. But is it really wise to let her do that much exercise that soon post surgery? Seems like she is much more "honest" or real since Migdalia went home. She does seem to care more and you do find yourself liking her more.

I was happy for Michael winning the challenge-I think that will boost his confidence more.

Red team, well I still don't like them, hoping Melissa goes home when they go to singles this week.

Stephanie really stepped up in the gym!! I like her a lot, she seems to "get it" and knows what she needs to do.

Daris seems like a good kid too-I hope he makes it to makeover week-I'd love to see that crazy hair of his go!!

I do like the Yellow team, but I liked the blue team too.

Bob in the kitchen equals shameless plug for something.:rolleyes1 I saw those Yoplait things at the store here a while ago-they were like 4 bucks and it only makes 2 servings!! I can make way more smoothies with the seperate ingredients. The chili was okay, but I am sure many of us have chili recipes where we can just sub turkey or chicken instead of beef.

So the preview for next week was interesting too. It showed someone up a pound, but the weight was like 214 or 215. No one this week weighed that, but that was Melissa's weight the week she threw the weigh in. I really hate the way they edit sometimes.

I agree I wanted both Blue and Yellow Team to stay.. Look how much they accomplished and what a positive influence that blue team would of been.

I was so glad that the Yellow team didn't have to make a decision in the elimination.

Miggy seemed a little softer after her surgery But from a Nursing point of view I Think that the show should of come with a disclaimer. Don't try this at home I'm sure she was very closely watch by the shows 24hr on staff Medical team.

Bob in the Kitchen.... each year I hope that they would spend a little time each week talking about Nutrition and balanced diets in general and even some vegetarian or vegan dishes.

I think Stephanie is my favorite right now, just because of the way she got everyone through that treadmill workout! I'd love her to come to the gym with me!

I still can't stand Melissa and want her to LEAVE. I would much rather have seen John stay than her. UGH.

Loved Yellow and Blue too-I was AMAZED with what they did at home and I'm confident that they will continue to do really well.

I think I'll be going through withdrawal during the Olympics.

I LOVE those yoplait smoothies. so easy and fast, very good. I add protein powder. i like how its already portioned ot and already has yogurt in it. I have a very limited time to get ready in the morning and these are so quik and easy. strawberry banana is my favorite! Also they don't cost 4 dollars at my grocery store. maybe I just got them on sal or something?

UPDATE: just checked my kroger receipt and they are $1.25 a pack so 75 cents a serving, works for me!

The olympics go for 2 weeks right? Are we not getting a bl show for 2 weeks?:scared1: That would not be good.

Well the store I saw them at was the one locally know for overpricing everything. And it is the largest chain market in our area. For $1.25 I would buy them, that is very affordable. I haven't seen them at Walmart where I shop every week. Adding the protein powder is a good idea.
