Biggest Loser show chit-chat

The red line thing was intense.:headache:

I wasn't impressed with Rudy tonight. I thought it seemed like he made a deal with Shay and then went back on it in the circus challenge, but it wasn't really clear.

Part of me is irritated that they've always shown how alone Shay is, but she seems to have a husband who loves her and a sister and friends. Yes, she's had a lot of issues, but she isn't a badly off as they've described her, at least in my opinion.

Was sick last night and slept through the show - did not tape it.

Who was voted out?

Ah! a complicated question -- strictly speaking, Shay was voted out. BUT -- Daniel also left, because they instituted a new criteria, the red line. If you are below the red line, you have the lowest percentage of weight loss, and are immediately off the show at the weigh in. So, they are down to 6...

And can I just say I would not have known true love was flowing except for the waterfall of tears and last minute hug? I would never have suspected...

Did you notice at the weight in, Maria, that they had the two "sides" separated out, basically - the "youngsters" on Jillian's side, the "oldsters" on Bob's side? Except for Danny was with the young 'uns and Rebecca was with the older ones? I wonder if there was too much goo-goo eye stuff going on in the previous weigh in and so they separated those two!

Here's hoping the Red Line was a one-time deal.

Someone on another site suggested they need to get rid of the one pound advantages and immunity - I agree, it seems to really give an unfair-seeming advantage at times. I would have been a lot less sad to see Allen go home. Though I like him, you can already see that he is looking kind of buff!

Poor Shay. Once they went to individuals, I hate to say it, but her days were numbered anyhow. To a point, the extra mass to lose is an advantage, but in individuals, her numbers have to be so large to have an equivalent percentage to the other players. I wish I'd seen her on Leno after, but we DVR'ed it and by the time we got to it, it was too late. :(

Can I just say that you have a wonderful way with words, Maria? :goodvibes

It wasn't too surprising to see Daniel go home but Shay was a shocker. I think she will actually do just fine at home. She is stronger than she gives herself credit for IMHO.

I'm still rooting for Rudy. I don't think he double crossed Shay in the challenge but it didn't look too good with the editing.

This is the first season I've watched so I haven't seen any other contestants. I felt sad for Daniel's former partner, David (?). There are just so many people out there that need help.

Luckily, for us WISHers we are ready to help ourselves! :thumbsup2

I agree, the saddest part last night was David. Shay is on her way. David...is waiting until he gets sick to do something about his weight? That seems to me like just such a sad plan. I was not impressed with him when he was a contestant and felt sorry that Daniel was partnered with someone who was so apathetic. Unless he makes the choice that he wants his wellness more than he wants to not think about changing his behavior, nothing is going to change for David. Unfortunately, when David was on the show, it was the time that they sent half the partners home for a month and he didn't really get much of the benefit of being on campus. I am not sure how much he wanted it in the first place, though.

I was surprised that Shay went home after losing 17 lbs! But I agree, she does have a support system. I don't know why she tried to act like she didn't in the beginning...oh, wait, maybe she was playing the game back then!

Lisa -- It didn't look to me like Rudy doublecrossed Shay. It looked to me like she got frustrated and started running her mouth. She was the one who was not behaving honorably, at least from what I could tell. The editing makes it hard to know what really happened.

Poor David -- that boy is going to perish if he doesn't get his head on straight. How sad that he had a chance like the BL, and didn't use it to get himself going towards a new, healthy life. I didn't think he was very into it when he was on campus, though.

Corinna -- I didn't really think about the separation, but I think you're right! You can definitely tell Allen is getting it together. I think most of them would be ok if they went home now -- they have to be thinking more about the money than before, since they are getting close to the Finale.

It would be interesting if they went back to the "rewards" for game play instead of immunity and advantages at the weigh in.

I agree that Shay just wasn't going to last long. And I was getting tired of hearing how she "needs to be here" more than everyone else. There's a point where that gets old. Look at Ron from last season -- he used that strategy to get the field whittled down to where his son was definitely going to be in the Finale. There's a point where personal accountability comes in. If you make it to Week 9, you've pretty much gotten all the basics they have to teach you, and you should be able to lose from there.

You are talking about Rebecca and Daniel? Are they a couple? Hmmm.

I think Daniel will be okay at home - he was before. They showed his former partner, David? What did he look like?

I am a bit worried about Shay, I hope she can keep it up. I am sure that Bob and Jillian will stay in touch with her somehow.

Last week Rebecca kept giving him goofy looks, and this week, she burst into tears and was inconsolable that he left. I agree, it was a bit surprising :confused3

Poor David looked quite big, actually I think even bigger than when he was on the show. I think he just came with Daniel so Daniel would have this chance, he wasn't actually interested in losing weight. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt...

I think Shay could be just fine. They showed all her family and friends waiting to welcome her home, including her husband, co-workers and her sister. I didn't see where she has any less support than anyone else.

Maria :upsidedow

shay and daniel were on leno last night..i you tubed it..

she has lost an extra 50 lbs..works o ut 6 days a week, 4 hrs on weekdays and 6 on weekends..

daniel has lost 30 more lbs and it said he now has a girl friend he hopes to introduce at the finale..

i'm still shocked losing over 5% and going home!!!

So I guess Daniel and Rebecca are an item. They way she ran up to him on the scale and hugged him was like Whoa. And the little blurb at the end about the "girlfriend" he wants to introduce. Yeah, thanks we have already met:rolleyes:

Shay, well, it was hard to believe that she lost so much but still went home. I don't understand why it has been "Oh Shay needs to stay". Like others have said, it would seem she has a support system at home. Yes her mother was a heroin addict and her childhood utterly sucked, but ya can't ride that pity train forever. Suck it up, do what needs doing, get some therapy and make your life.

I DVR'd Leno and both Daniel and Shay looked good. She said she was now 320, and Daniel says he has lost a total of 230 lbs, so that would put him around 225.

I don't know who I want to win at this point, but I like Allen and Danny the best. Liz kinda rubs me the wrong way.

I don't think the show is on next week, there was no preview and here at least they are promo-ing Merry Madagascar for next Tues at 8.

I think the show is just 1.5 hrs next week, and Merry Madagascar is on first. Now they're down to 6 people, they don't need a full 2 hours! Plus, they stretch it out so much as it is...

Is anyone else disconcerted there's a Christmas special on before Thanksgiving? I guess they want to get it out on dvd in time for the real holiday...

I'm disconcerted that you said "Just 1.5 hours" to tell the truth! Like you say, it's stretched out so much as it is and I don't personally care if I never witness the best of the Last Chance workout again. Seriously, how many times can a person stand to hear "Last Chance Workout!! This is your Last Chance!!"

You know Liz rubs me the wrong way too, and Rebecca is not unlikeable but she tends to say kind of annoying things. "Buh bye!" I don't know that Amanda numerically stands a chance of getting to the final 3, but she's fine. Danny has long been my favorite, I think. He's generally nice and he seems to have his head in the right place. Has anyone noticed that his eyes pop out less than they used to when he's surprised or excited? I really enjoyed that about Danny the first few weeks.

Hey, what did you guys think of the product placements? I thought the ziplock one was fairly tastefully done - they just showed it. And Larabar....what were they doing just eating them right away when Bob told them to bring them to the gym! Nuts! I do think that is a better product for them to be promoting than, for instance, chemical-laden gums. But that's just me. :)

I was surprised that Shay was voted off rather than Amanda. However, she seemed to be doing really well when she was on Leno, as did Daniel. I can't imagine working out 4 hours or more a day. I have a hard enough time exercising 30-60 minutes a day!

Did anyone catch the preview for next week? Or is the Madagascar Christmas special going to be on instead? :confused3

Isn't that the truth? ;)

Just checked on my tivo...Madagascar is on at 8 followed by a 90 minute BL!

Don't you love being able to look into the future.

Next week is the makeovers with Tim Gunn!
