Hello all BL challengers!! Our teams have now merged thanks in great part to suggestions from the former Red Team's beloved Mike. :) Our new color is Purple . We're now one big (but getting smaller pounds-wise) team...please continue to help and motivate as well as post issues you need enouragement with.

Maybe we can't do this alone, but together we can do anything! Together we can all be the Biggest Losers!

Here's a link to the team-formerly-known-as-Red here and the team-formerly-know-as-Blue here .

I'm going to be gone for the rest of the day but will try to post team names and losses soon, unless someone else is up for it. ;) No ownership here - feel free to make this team and challenge what you want it to be!

Go purple!! :cheer2:

Yay! Purple rocks! :) Is the merge ok with Kelsie? I know she started the challenge and arranged for the prize, so I would want to make sure she is on board. :) You of course know I am all about the merge!! hehe :)

Keep up the good work everyone!! Let's get busy!!
Mike :)

I pm'd Kelsie to see if she's okay with it...I seem to remember in the original thread that we'd merge when they do on the show but I'm old and lazy and might have creatively remembered and didn't check the thread. :earboy2:

Is anyone up for a Halloween challenge? It was suggested that we challenge ourselves to limit ourselves to 1 piece of Halloween candy/day. Are you up for it?

i was so confused when i saw purple!! lol
My stomach pains are getting a little less, so im hoping after this weekend ill be able to start working out again..its almost a month till my trip so i really need to get into shape.
have a great thursday everyone

Hello new purple team! Should we introduce ourselves again? I'm going to say yes because I like to know a little bit about everyone. I am a stay at home mom to 3 kids. I have a first grader, 4 year old, and 11 month old. I'm in denial when I write 11 months because in less than two weeks he will be one! My DH and I are both trying to do South Beach which is good carbs. I try to stay away from anything "white." Thanks to this challenge I have been getting better about exercising. Since kids, that has always been hard for me. Today I just got back from a 35 minute walk.

Good luck! :cheer2:

Jennifer - Halloween challenge sounds excellent to me! :)

Jen - Glad to hear your stomach pains are lessening. I bet it will feel great to get back into working out. :)

K & K's Mommy - Good job on your exercise! I agree that we should reintro ourselves! I'll go next!

I am Mike. I work as a college Residence Hall Director and live in a building of 250 eighteen year old freshmen with my trusty sidekick and cat, Logan. I have been following the Carb Addict's Lifespan Plan since late June and I have lost 90 pounds as of this week. I started my journey at over 500lbs so I have no illusions of getting thin, I just want to feel comfortable in my body and feel healthy. My life has changed a lot since I began, whereas before I avoided walking like the plague and could not shop for myself due to intense pain, I now am able to shop for hours no sweat! I don't avoid doing things anymore because of the activity involved. :) Right now my exercise has been walks and water aerobics three times a week. Next week one of my student staff members is helping me get started weight lifting at the Rec center. So I will be doing that 2-3 times a week.

I am counting the days until my next Disney trip and I am very glad the Biggest Loser is ending before my trip so I don't have to report any vacation gain on here! ;) LOL :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope you are having a great day!
Mike

Hello!!! I'm Kelli. I've been doing WW. I love it! I think my total lost since I started WW is 15.8 with about 75-80 more to go. Sheesh that seems like a big number. Anyway, we can do it!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm a SAHM with one son, he's in 1st grade. I like to volunteer at his school, right now I read once a week to the kindergarten class he was in last year. They're a lot of fun. I've been married 13 years, I just turned 35.

I have to confess, I actually gained weight last year watching BL because our church gave our mini candy bars and guess when I would eat them???

I'm still trying to lose the 30 lbs I've been working on for this year. I've been more successful since I've been on this challenge. I haven't lost that much weight doing this but my body has changed.

I'm making a spaghetti and meatballs cake for the school carnival on Sat. I made the meatballs earlier (cream cheese, melted chocolate chips and walnuts) and I had one. I guess I'll count that as Halloween candy. Now I've got to make myself not try the buttercream frosting tomorrow night.

Hi, I'm Helen
I work as an insurance adjuster, I'm 51 with 2 children a son 23 and a daughter 18 who is in her first year of college.
I have been kind of doing the South Beach diet, but I fall off the wagon periodically. This last go around I gained back 10 pounds, but have lost it with this challenge. This challenge has been a good motivation for me, I have cheated less and gotten in my exercise.
All together I have lost 50 pounds and would like to lose another 25, my goal is to lose 5 more by my trip to WDW.
...
forgot to add, I did 50 minutes on the treadmill tonight

hi everyone..
im jen, i just turned 21 and im a junior in college in south jersey to become a teacher..
I would love to lose 10 or so pounds...I have a thyroid problem (had tumors so i have no more thyroid) so im on thyroid replacement which can make my weight fluctuate alot..my doctor says im in the "normal" range, but i think shes crazy so well see if i can eventually get rid of these 10 pounds!!

Guess I didn't really do a complete introduction before, so here it is.

I'm Kelli, 33, married to Craig for 12+ years, we have 2 girls, Kaelyn (almost 11) and Stephanie (4). We're surprising the girls with a trip to WDW in December. We're telling them on Saturday at their joint "birthday party". We've kept it a secret since June and its been very hard!!!

Hi, purple team! My name is Jana and I live in central Illinois. I work as a counselor for the Department of Children and Family Services. I've been doing WW on my own since just after Xmas 2004. So far I have lost fifty-five pounds (only fifteen since joining WISH) and plan to keep working! This is certainly the longest I have stuck to any plan. Hopefully by Xmas 2006, I'll be just about where I want to be.
I love the Biggest Loser Challenge and all the other challenges. They really keep me motivated. When I'm frustrated and want to binge eat or not exercise, I think about WISH and realize that I don't want to lie to the Disney People! Thanks everyone!
Jana :flower:

Good morning. I did 60 min on the bike today.

Have fun with that surprise Kelli. We surprised our son last year with a trip for his 6th birthday. We had reservations for about 8 months before we got there. He had no idea. We visited my dh's family in Middleburg FL for a couple of days before our Disney time started. The morning we left he thought we were going to a soccer game for his cousin (dh's aunt had talked about it that morning). About 1 1/2 hrs into the drive he said so when are we getting to the soccer game. He was so shocked when we drove through the arch that said Walt Disney World on it. His eyes popped out of his head. It was priceless and something I'll remember forever.

Good morning, losers! Glad we're one big happy family now. :goodvibes

I'm Sheila and I just turned 41. I've been married for 18 years to my soulmate and we have a 17 y/o son who is the light of our lives. We also have a dog named Barkley who is VERY spoiled...LOL!

I started out losing weight 3 years ago after hitting an all-time high with my weight and began taking high blood pressure medicine. I was also diagnosed with spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease and was told to lose at least 30 lbs to help my back. I've lost 50 so far and want to lose another 15-20.

I've been on all sorts of diets (Diabetic, Atkins, Somersizing, South Beach, and Weight Watchers). I'm currently on WW and it seems to work the best for me. I still use some of the principles of South Beach by trying to eat whole grains and no sugar. I've gained and lost the same 10 lbs for two years and hope to finally keep it off this time around. I tend to gain around the holidays as I usually throw my WOE out the door. I've vowed to not do that this year.

I have yet to eat a piece of Halloween candy and I hope to only have a couple of pieces on Halloween. We are having a party so I know I won't be able to resist a few pieces. I'll just have to work it off!

I didn't exercise last night as my back was really bothering me. I plan on making up for it this weekend. :teeth:

Hi all!

The merge has definitely given me a much needed boost! So glad to be all on the same team now! :)

Kelli - How cool! A surprise trip!!! My very first trip to WDW was a surprise (mostly because my mom wasn't sure if she'd be able to afford it in the end! hehe). We thought we were bringing our grandparents to the airport and it turned out it was the other way around! LOL I hope that your children love it!

Marty - What a great surprise for your DS! I know some people don't like the surprise trip but I think it is sooooo sweet. :)

Minniemousemom - I hope the Tag Fairy shows up soon!! We need some Purple Team bling! :)

I am freshly back from water aerobics. I did 80min today, and I also did 20min of walking yesterday. I made yummy Portabella Mushroom Pizzas for dinner last night, you use the mushroom as the pizza crust, soo delish! :) For those who do not know, I am the mushroom king, I eat them almost every day, hehe.

Have a great day all!
Mike :cheer2:

Hi everyone! I'm Jennifer. I'm 40, a SAHM w/a 7 1/2 yo DD. We moved to Indy 2 yrs ago from St. Louis, I'm originally from Orlando. I have almost lost all of the weight I gained after the move, so then it's on to losing the baby fat - lol, my baby's almost 8! :rotfl2: I'm determined to lose weight this final time - my goal is to become healthier and able to keep up with my dd. People comment all the time about how much we look alike and I love and hate that - I don't want her to look like someone who is 65 pounds overweight (now it's down to 45 though!). This challenge has been so great for me in keeping me accountable...I have a WISH buddy - Dopey4Disney Christie who got me involved in this. She's been fantastic too in keeping me motivated. :)

Jen - I also don't have a thyroid - I had cancer and it was removed. I'm on tons of meds because of a problems from a second operation. I'm surprised to hear that your weigh is fluctuating because of your meds...I haven't heard that before. Do you go to an endo? Is she checking TSH along w/T4 levels? You can pm me if you want to...sorry I'm being so nosy!

Sheila - 50 pounds?! Awesome! And here I was thinking you were always as thin as you are in your pic! WOW! :cheer2:

Jana - 55 pounds?! :earseek: That's so great! You are an inspiration!

Kelli - congrats on keeping that a secret - I am sure I couldn't have done it! That's going to be so fun!

Marty - that's great noticing the change in your body. Inches count! That's more important sometimes than the number on the scale.

Helen - 50 pounds! You're in good company here! Both of your babies are gone now? Was it hard for you when she went to college?

Mike - you're such an incredible inspiration. Sometimes I get bogged down in how much more I want to lose and I think about you and your positive attitude and your journey and it reminds me it's not about the final number it's about a lifestyle change and the joy it's bringing to me and my family. Thanks! So did you totally relate to Doc on BL when he was so fired up because his weight was below 300?? That was exciting to see him so excited!

I'm so glad to be part of this challenge and get all the support and everything that goes with it..thanks everyone! :grouphug:

After this long post I have got a lot of sit-down stuff to do today. I'm sore and tired from the Zoo Boo last night and will some please please send me a Jillian moment so I get off my couch and exercise?! I think I need an intervention! I have already had 3 pieces of Halloween candy today - my modified challenge is no more for the day. :teeth: Plus lots of water.

Hi all, just wanted to check in with our new team. I am an ER nurse and I need to loose. I am so sick of being fat and not having any energy. I also have thyroid problems and I used to blame my thyroid on all my problems. I started WW 5 weeks ago and I have lost 17 lbs. I really need to exercise more and stay away from that halloween candy. I like the idea of 1 per day.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Losers! Welcome to Week 7!

My name is Terry, and I am SAHM with a dd 12 and a ds 10. I can't remember my real age. LOL! I guess that's what happens when you say you are 31 for so many years! :rotfl: (Okay - so I am 41.) We moved to St Louis last year after living in Nashville, TN for 7 years. I have been WISHing for ages ;) and had lost 55 pounds. Notice I said 'had'. As my dh got a new job, relocated to STL, and all of the fun stuff included with moving/selling/buying, I was diagnosed with MS. After a couple of mega doses of steriods, I am back to where I started.

(nothing like putting on 11 pounds in 4 days :faint: 20 in 8

) I have spent the last year getting adjusted to my MS meds and just trying to get settled. Well, and cheering for the Cardinals! GO CARDS!

Sept was my 1 yr anniversary on meds, so I decided to get back on track with my weight loss. I have a long road ahead but I plan on making this a ONE WAY trip this time! :moped:

Jennifer -

See if these clippies get you inspired to start moving....
