Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Team Challenge for Losers and Maintainers!!!

Good Tuesday morning everyone

Question of the Day

Name on thing that you feel you should have done better during this challenge.

Have a happy and healthy day.

I should have done better at a lot of things! I should have done better checking in, staying on track with food, and being more active. But all that being said, now I know what to do better for the upcoming challenge! I can't wait to get started!

Good Tuesday morning everyone

One more day until my students take their big Advanced Placement exam. Today we go over final questions and give them their goodie bags. I have a bag for each of them. Each bag has some candy in it. I included some mints (supposed to make them smarter) some lollipops, some tootsie rolls and some hershey kisses ( I tell them to save those for the end.). The bag also includes 2 sharpened pencils and an extra eraser top. My second year students also get a pencil sharpener and last week I gave them new batteries last week for their calculators.

Awww Dona!! You are the best!! The kids get sooo stressed and for them to know that you are behind them means so much! This morning was AP Spanish...lots of stress for my students!

I can't believe that I made the top 10. I haven't lost much this challenge. I lost a lot the first week but them the same two pounds for the last few months. But I am happy that I have been able to keep it off. As I explained last week this has been a tough period for me. It is a very emotional time in my life and if I can keep my weight or even lose a little them I am happy.

Nice job!!!

Yes this is a crazy week. I am taking 2 personal days this week. TOmorrow I am taking my parents to visit relatives for lunch. I just got invited to a grad party tomorrow night. Friday is graduation for ds2 so that will be a long day.

Graduation is always bittersweet, but the knowledge that you raised such a smart young man who is going to make a difference in this world is a comfort :) Enjoy the special day!!

Question of the Day

Name on thing that you feel you should have done better during this challenge.

Off to get dressed for school.

Have a happy and healthy day.

I wish I would have stuck with the exercise better. This emotional eating just has to end!! A work in progress....

WOOHOO!!!!

Of course this week I may end up the biggest gainer after the weekend I overindulged but enjoyed every minute of!

Took 3 days off from exercising though I did clean house all day yesterday!

I'll post from work in a while. Running late this morning!

TTFN :tigger:

DOUBLE WOOO HOOOOO to you!!! :cool1: Tracey!!

I'm not a beach person but I found a nice bathing suit in the Athleta catalog that I might buy when the belly gets a little smaller. They actually have underwire in the tops and they run by bra size not small/med/large.

OMG! A bathing suit with an underwire!! My girls are jumping for joy!! I hate that squished **** look! I need to check these out! Thanks Buffy!

A big, BL congratulations to all our superstars and especially to our biggest loser, Tracey! :thumbsup2

Kayla, woo hoo on resisting the siren's call of the pizza! :goodvibes Good point about how good food just makes you feel better.

Liz, a big woo hoo on the days of the shoe cast almost being over! :woohoo:

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Buffy and I have a pact that we are going to log and track for the next three days if you want to join us. :goodvibes

Thanks for coaching this week, Dona!

I am feeling a bit frazzled but I am prioritizing and trying to take it one step at a time. :hippie:

Wow, Lynda! That is a lot of stuff going on. :hug: Your summer will fly by!

Nah, Karen, lots of us in the same boat. I blame it on the super moon! :lmao:

Sounds like a fun way to duck a rainshower! :umbrella:

One day down, four to go -- we can do it! ::yes::

Linda, congrats on the sub job! :thumbsup2 Your DH and your boys will all do fine and probably learn a few things about what Mom does for them.

The next challenge starts June 1st. I'm not sure about the end date. There will be weeks in June, July and August for sure. :sunny: A summer challenge is a little more relaxed.

Hope the IT band starts feeling better soon. :flower3: You know your body better than anyone and are smart to give it a rest if it doesn't feel right. Maybe a few days rest or some PT?

:yay: This is a great NSV for sure!

Aren't we all? :hippie:

:thumbsup2

Susan, you are such a good person to do so much for those sweet little kitties. :flower: Sending lots of pixiedust: for you all. :cat:

I could have done a better job of staying in the wagon! :lmao:

Have a great day all!
Lisa, you ALWAYS know how to make me smile!! Yes, I will blame the bad eating on the super moon....after all, us ladies born in July are ruled by the moon ::yes::

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is it Friday yet? My boss is back and I really hope she will take some of the pressure off me....so far so good! Three meetings with students today so the day should go fast! I'm helping Brian out with moving scenery today....he's directing the 5th grade play at the school where he works and can't fit some of the set in his car. With the seats down in mine I should be able to fit the flats. They are doing the Wizard of Oz and I am super excited to see the show in 2 weeks! He's super nervous since the director is very disorganized and has yet to block some of the numbers...YIKES!!
It's been really rainy here and I ended up with a headache by the end of the day. I skipped spin last night to sleep it off. Ended up heading to the Mediterranean restaurant in the next town for some falafel sandwiches and babaganush (sp?). I thought I could handle the pita but I woke up at 2am with stomach pains....darn gluten!! I'm still feeling the pain today but will muddle through :)
Off to my many students!!
OK, never got back on earlier!
QOTD: When am I not running around like a chicken with my head cut off! And it just keeps getting more and more crazy! Parents aren't leaving NC until tomorrow morning. I now am working all day on Saturday! 3 hot stone massages and 1 regular! Going to be a long day. Of course I tell my mom and all she had to say was, so when are you taking your father shopping for Mother's Day? I said maybe Friday afternoon, and she says I don't know when we will get there! I'm sorry, that I am working and earning money for my vacation! UGH! I just can't win! Gotta pick up Izzie and then come home and clean some more things and then take Ash to dancing and we pick up costumes today! She's very excited! I think I'll make some pasta salad to have with our pork chops tonight. So, 6 clients in total this week! I like busy weeks! Shopping tomorrow with our friends that are cruising with us! She needs clothes! I am looking around at stuff as well!
QOTD: I could have started exercising more intensely earlier on in the challenge! I'm only at 36% of what I want to lose. I'm up for the week so far but I'm focused so hopefully that will keep me ok and maybe I'll eek out a loss!
I know I missed some other questions but that's all I can think of right now. Don't have time to look back. Gotta see if I have shake and bake to have on the pork chops tonight. Can't grill as it's raining. I didn't marinate them yet either!
You really sound like you have your hands full with those cats. I do believe as you lose one pet you get the same pet back as a replacement in another form. I can take the rest of this week. If you can't do it next week just let me know.
Question of the Day
Name on thing that you feel you should have done better during this challenge.
I have been really happy with my eating as we come down the stretch of this challenge. BUT I have not been happy with my exercise. I just seem to be pushing it to the side. I have had some great success with walking and tracking steps but I really need to work on being consistent and adding strength training.
Off to get dressed for school.
Have a happy and healthy day.
Yeah I'll take next week-- no problem. I know-- I keep losing the same 4 pounds lol...
Susan, good luck with your kittens. I've been there, many times. (At least a monthly basis because of my job). It is a time consuming job and often times a heart breaking one. I don't know if you have dealt with this type of thing before, but make sure you got those kittens dewormed AS SOON as they are old enough. All kittens/puppies are born with worms, and they are able to fight it off by drinking there mother's milk, without that, they need to be deowrmed by a vet as soon as they are able! Make sure you are constantly washing your hands, and don't let any other pets near the kittens, or a lot of people. If they are that young, there are A LOT of potential dangers for them, so keep them as isolated as possible the first few weeks. And make sure they are pooping. I lost a litter because they were not pooping and it was awful! Good luck!
I used to find kittens in my horses stall every few months, she was good about not stepping on them but mom was never anywhere to be found. And obviously i cant leave kittens in a horse stall!
It is after 9:30 a.m. here and DH has just informed me that I have my shirt on inside out. Yes, I have seen several people and been at work for quite a little bit now . . . :lmao:
Lisa--Lol!
OK well I'm semi delirious but I'm sitting here while all the bottle stuff is being boiled, also decided to eat some toast and milk. 2 died. They were the smallest but I had some hope for the orange guy, he was trying. I was on the phone with the vet for a half hour with the last one and they just said there's nothing they could do for a kitten that young, just keep him warm and keep trying to feed him...I carried him around for a few hours and laid him down to feed the others and he just died. It sucks. The last 2 though are the strongest and are eating really well-- at least when they decide to cry just loud enough for me to pop the dropper in... they fight it though. I'm going to try the bottles next. I found hand warmers I was saving for disneyland and filled a balloon with hot water and put it in their box. Theyve had the heating pad but they seem to like cuddling up to the balloon. I also found my sound machine with the heartbeat in some luggage...gonna try to go rest now...
Sorry I went MIA. Sunday ended up being really busy and yesterday I had plans at a place where I could not access the Internet. I have to admit, I felt like something was missing.
I am planning to catch up with Healthy Habits tomorrow night. I have had a prize boxed up for days, but can't make it to the post office when it is open. I have training tomorrow and hopefully can find a post office near it and get it mailed before 5 PM. I am planning the summer HH weeks already and am always open to suggestions. If anyone has a Disney theme they would like to see, please send me a PM so that it is a surprise.
Thanks for all the support with my mom! :) Things have been better.
I'm another one of the chickens without a head. I had training today and they provided lunch. They made me something GF, which I greatly appreciated. Today's was simple (according to them), and since they know I will be there tomorrow, I will have something more on par with my co-workers. I loved my lunch. It was OP, GF, and delicious! :) I also made it through today with only 1 glass of Diet Coke. I needed 2 cans of diet soda yesterday. Some days I've had 2 20 oz. bottles. :scared1: Switching to green tea is one of my goals. I have a box of green tea at work; I just have to bring in a mug. :rolleyes1
QOTD: Exercise, journaling my food, earning more HH points, I could go on and on.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Day to All of Our WISH BL Teachers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
QOTD...exercise daily, too many days with carbs,even whole grain seem to affect my weught
I di feel good since I've been pretty steady, wgt wise. I am having a hard time fitting in the workout time for the last couple months. I go a few weeks with the routine and then it gets knocked out of whack.
Well, Tommorow is another chance to start again.
So, who all is in for the next Biggest Loser Challenge after this one ends? I am!!
I'm in!!
Jill, good luck at your WI today at WW! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear how you do!
Janis, will be looking for coaches so consider volunteering. It's easy to pick a good week when you volunteer early! :cool2: Please help our lovely hostess and send her a PM today.
I actually am doing WW online so my weigh in was in my bathroom :rotfl: I lost 2 pounds and it's the kick in the pants I needed. I'm very happy so far and so is my sister.
I will look at my schedule to sign up for coaching and pm Janis. Thanks for the reminder.
Now, that being said, I'm going to need some help with the last week so a few of you will be receiving a PM. That also means that I plan to coach HH in the summer. :cool1:
Whoohoo! Thanks for signing up for another round!
And DS15 and his friend didn't survive the Zombie Apocalypse. But it was "The best worst day of my life".
Oh that's too bad. Glad he had a fun time, though.
Good evening everyone.
No workout today but we had a garage sale and was lifting some decent size boxes through the day so not too worried about it.
Hope you did well at your garage sale. My family is having one in June. I love garage sales (both hosting and shopping).
i plan on indulging in disney but also doing some running too. i will need to work off my :drinking1:cake::mickeybar and popcorn::
DH just sat down and discussed all the drinks and snacks we want to try in thr world showcase. Good thing I just bought new running shoes!
Yesterday morning I got a run in and in the late afternoon we went to the state choir competition. Boy do those kids have energy. I was reminded of Fantasmic while we waited for the results. The auditorium was full of a self-entertaining crowd. :joker: No wave, though. Our school got 3rd. All the schools were so incredibly talented. I asked DS2 if anybody was disappointed with their placement and he said, "Mom, it's all about the performance, not the score." :thumbsup2
Congrats to the school. 3rd place is awesome.
Question of the Day
We have many people who seem to be running around like a chicken without a head on
How is your week shaping up?
I'm a chicken. So much on my schedule over the next two weeks I don't know whether I'm coming or going. Luckily, school will be done soon and I will have time to get myself together.
We leave for Disney in 10 days as well! Well we are doing the cruise before Disney so I guess we leave for the cruise in ten days! Can't believe it, I still have so much to do!
Uh...I haven't even started getting anything ready except for a list of drinks and snacks I want to try lol. I think we leave WDW as you arrive, so have a great trip!
It is after 9:30 a.m. here and DH has just informed me that I have my shirt on inside out. Yes, I have seen several people and been at work for quite a little bit now . . . :lmao:
At least he told you lol!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ok, it took me 2 hours to catch up and I didn't even reply to everyone I wanted to. But, I am tired and heading to bed now.

Mary Poppins~The Run for Your Lives event in western PA is in Slippery Rock in June I think. Check the website.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Jill

Good Wednesday morning everyone.

I am off for the day. My AP calc kids are taking their exam today. 4 out of my 5 classes are taking the test this morning. I really wouldn't have any class until 1 this afternoon so I decided to take the day off. I don't have to sit in school and worry about them. I will be taking my parents to visit relatives for lunch so I will be gone all day.

Question of the Day
With summer just around the corner do you have any plans for the summer? (Besides being part of the summer BL challenge)

I may be teaching some AP prep classes. It depends on how many kids are signing up for them. I could be working for 5 weeks this summer.

then there is DW in Aug.

Have a happy and healthy day.

I'm determined to walk to the top of Slieve Donard:worship:
Its the highest mountain in N.Ireland and the views from the top are spectacular on a good day but I need to get in better shape first so I'm aiming for middle of August sometime:)

Today is no finals and no work so I'm planning on getting a lot done so help me. Planning on finishing both papers I have, doing some laundry, packing a little bit...i am ambitious but not overwhelmed. About to go finish essay 1, which is 2 pages of writing, should take an hour. Then its the big kahuna. My huge research paper that i've been working on all semester. It all comes down to today. By the time I go to bed tonight...I will have finished it. That's a lofty goal to be sure, but I'm comitted!

I also plan on getting 30 min of cardio in today and tracking my food...I did breakfast already so i'm on the right start.

I expect big things from today..if I have to drink coffee all day to accomplish it, so be it! I will check back later and let everyone know how it went

I hope you got all your work finished and hopefully that made you less stressed! Exercise is good for stress relief!

Ok, I apologize for being MIA lately. I haven't been on since Thursday, although I managed to weigh in this weekend and send my HH results to CC. I need to go back and catch up on about 7 pages. I have been enjoying this great weather and DSs spring activities are keeping me running around all day. Plus, DH and I leave for WDW in 10 days, so I've been trying to get organized for that, too. Oh, and not to mention, it's Mother's Day weekend. I only have 18 days of school left, so I am also trying to wrap up all my subjects where I need them to be. Luckily, with all this going on and all the stress I cause myself, joining weight watchers has been a great help. It's keeping my eating on track and I'm not stress eating like I normally would.

I hope everyone is doing well. I will probably catch up tonight and try my best to keep it up. Right now, I better get back to work.

Jill

It has been really nice here too! I plan to take many bike rides soon.

We were just talking on the May 2012 trip thread about how bad trips in May are because of how busy it is!!

It is after 9:30 a.m. here and DH has just informed me that I have my shirt on inside out. Yes, I have seen several people and been at work for quite a little bit now . . . :lmao:

Thanks for doing the HHs, even though this is my first week of participation. I realized I should've done them a long time ago! :blush:

Woohoo on the coke! My mom used to only drink diet coke and I'm really proud that she's down to about 1 a day and fills the rest of her day with tea and water. :cool1:

Happy Teacher Appreciation Day BL teachers!! You're appreciated! :goodvibes

I'm in!!
Hope you did well at your garage sale. My family is having one in June. I love garage sales (both hosting and shopping).

I'll be back tomorrow.

Jill

Thank you! It went pretty well, it was to earn some extra money for our WDW trip. I usually love shopping but lately nobody really has much of anything. :confused3

Good luck on yours in June!

Good Wednesday morning everyone.

Hope your kids do well on their test! I took AP physics in HS and it was kind of a joke. I got a 0 on my test. :rotfl2: The only reason anybody ever took it was for honors because nobody ever passed the test.

My plans include WDW (:cool1::hyper:), the color run (:banana:), getting boxing gear and working out with my bff, getting a job, and who knows what else?

I'm determined to walk to the top of Slieve Donard:worship:
Its the highest mountain in N.Ireland and the views from the top are spectacular on a good day but I need to get in better shape first so I'm aiming for middle of August sometime:)

Good morning, everyone.

I took a sneak peek at the scale for the first time during this challenge. All things are looking good, but I'm only recording Friday's weigh-in so hopefully it's even better.

My algebra final was difficult. I'm nervous to see what I got, but I'm SO glad it is over so I can stop worrying. I have one more easy final on Friday and I'm done!

Half-Marathon is next Saturday. Definitely undertrained. I'm not too worried about finishing anymore. Lately I've been worrying about injuring myself during the run. Since we leave for WDW that same week I don't want to overtress any muscles or end up twisting my ankle or something. I'll feel more apt to walk than run. I also don't have any belt for snacks or water. It'll certainly be interesting!

Have a beautiful day everyone!!

Hola my friends!! Once again, I must apologize for my MIA status since last week. Busy times around here again. Why is it when the KIDS schedules get busy, I can't find time to catch my breath?? Last weekend was SAT's and Prom for DD (both of which went great), plus my parents came up for a short visit to see DD in all of her attire. Monday was DD's first AP test, the one she was most dreading (Chemistry) and she came out smiling and cheering! All of her hard work appears to be paying off!

Further this week is a big speech due today for her in AP English, Tae Kwon Do for DS, plus the start of a delayed town rec league baseball season for him also. Friday is DD's AP US History test, so more before and after school study sessions, plus of course summer swim is kicking into high gear.... and this week her Senior project paperwork is due!! :headache: Crazy, crazy week around here! None of this applies directly to me, of course, except for all of the extra driving and extra "teen drama" that this creates.

Friday is also a Rainbow Girls bake sale and middle school penny sale, both of which I need to contribute to and attend.... and it's teacher appreciation week.... wouldn't it be nice of me to actually send something to the teachers??!!

Had a crazy encounter with some cookie dough a few days ago (for those of you who know me, you remember that this is my KRYPTONITE). Tried to talk DH out of making them, but DD needed to bring cookies to school Tuesday for a post-AP exam party for Chem class and DH didn't want to send in fridge dough cookies.... oh well. Fridge dough I can resist.... homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough I have trouble avoiding. I moved on and started right back OP the next morning, but my belly is having some trouble getting past all of the fat/sugar/fiber/carbs and is still gurgly a few days later. That will teach me!

Not much time to chitty chat here. I told DD I would google times and prices for her Scuba classes for her Senior project paperwork, so I need to get that done. Plus I am DEEP into the heart of two big scrapping projects. I am getting ready to start DD's swim book and I am getting ready and organized to get the book for DMIL underway (well... it is SORT of started). Just waiting for some feedback and more pictures from extended family.

Well..... off to make beds and hit the TM! Exercise time has been definitely lacking lately and I'm afraid it will start to show on the scale!!

I'll try to pop on at lunchtime to maybe catch up a bit here. I miss my daily chats with everyone when I'm not here! TTYL......................P

Good morning all! :goodvibes

Trina, hope your paper is done and you are sitting pretty today! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Don't you love it when you do stuff like that!!

Yes, it was pretty funny actually. :lmao:

I should have done better at a lot of things! I should have done better checking in, staying on track with food, and being more active. But all that being said, now I know what to do better for the upcoming challenge! I can't wait to get started!

It is a learning process figuring out what needs to be done. :teeth:

Yes, I will blame the bad eating on the super moon....after all, us ladies born in July are ruled by the moon ::yes::

:cool2:

Susan, so sorry about the kitties but it sounds like the other two are hanging in there. :hug: That is a full time job being a kitty mama! :cat:

Congratulations to jujubee727 and all the other WIN!ners! :cool1:

Thanks for being our WIN! hostess, Janis. :flower3:

CC, sounds like you are adjusting to your new work schedule. :cool2:

4HOLIDAYS, this is a crazy time of year and hard to keep on a routine with all the school stuff going on. ::yes::

Jill, glad you had a good weigh in! :yay:

Thanks Buffy! Sooo cute! I was thinking purple to shake up the usual black suits I seem to live in :)

You mean you can wear bathing suits in other colors? :confused: This is the first year in FOREVER that I can actually wear any suit that is in my drawer.

Question of the Day
With summer just around the corner do you have any plans for the summer? (Besides being part of the summer BL challenge)

We are moving our office next month, doing our annual family trip to Iowa in July and then in August it will be time to think about school starting again. Summer will go by quickly! :beach:

Dona, your ticker is counting down quickly. :cool1:

I'm determined to walk to the top of Slieve Donard:worship:
Its the highest mountain in N.Ireland and the views from the top are spectacular on a good day but I need to get in better shape first so I'm aiming for middle of August sometime:)

Looks very cool and I read on a good day that you can see Dublin and Belfast from the top -- wow! :cool2:

Just swimming along here and hoping for a good week. :fish:

LOL Lisa yes apparently there are other colors out there in the world besides black!!
I'm leaning towards the purple too, it is sooo cute!

I so hate bathing suits though. I do not look good in them!

Pamela, sounds like busy times at your house. :goodvibes How was the prom? I'm sure your DD looked lovely. princess:

Kayla, nice to get that hard final out of the way and only one more final to go! :yay:

You'll do great on your half. Welcome to the crazy time of taper madness! ;) It can be a roller coaster of emotions but you've done the work and will do great. I don't run with a belt -- I have bulging pockets but it is much more comfortable. You will have a great time and feel so accomplished! :cool2:

Wow, busy summer, Buffy! But looks like some good opportunities for training runs in between shuttling. :thumbsup2

I'm off to start my tracking for day 3 . . . we are almost there!
