THIS WEEK'S NON-SCALE VICTORIES!!

princessbride6205 (Liz) did a 13 mile training run/walk this week!
Disneywedding2010 (Kristina) is in a size 16W as of this week!
DorkyDisneyMom (Mary) had a check-up this week with her cholesterol and blood sugar completely in the ideal range!
Melissahac99 (Melissa) has been running in preparation for her 5k in 2 weeks, and was good about logging her food in MFP this week!
kollerbear (Samantha) started Weight Watchers this week, went to a wedding, ate normally, and stayed on her points!

Happy Wednesday morning friends! I've got just a minut to pop on here at school and say hello! I'll try to find a few minutes to catch up at some point in time today, but I at least wanted to say hello.

Any New Englanders here feel last night's earthquake? It was centered in Maine. I must admit, I did not. I've always wanted to experience a small earthquake, just to see what it felt like. But I was in the car between dropping DD at the Y and running to Costco, so of course, anything I would have felt would have been attributed to the car movement. oh well.

I haven't seen anyone else requesting the opportunity to coach tomorrow, so I will definitely be ready with a QOTD! And hopefully next week's coach will be ready to step up on Friday!

NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!!!

How this works: You set your goal for what you want to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal. Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) all you have to do is send me a PM.

We have done 5 out of 10 weeks, so the challenge is 50% complete.

Just wanted to say I'm sorry I didn't get these results posted last night--I accidentally fell asleep immediately after dinner while watching the Simpsons with Matt. :confused3

Congrats to everyone on a great week and feel free to send me more non-scale victories for next week! I'll also post a challenge to-date leaderboard next week, too.

One thing to note--just be very clear with me that you intend for me to post your non-scale victories, since I know that sometimes you guys share stuff with me conversationally and it's hard to tell if you saw this post and are intending for me to share what you say!

I had a great week on Weight Watchers and am feeling awesome. Thanks to all of you guys who encouraged me to give it a try and put up with my questions!!

Have a great day everyone!

It was crazy, Pam!!!!! About 10 seconds long at the most! THought it was the wind or a truck or something blowing up at first. We've had about 3-4 in this area over the past 15 years. Had one when we lived in our apt in Acton and there was one centered down the street from us about 5 years ago.

I'm off to Costco this afternoon! Ash and I are having an afternoon of shopping together! She had a rough week last week and has a half day today and Izzie is going to an after school LEGO class so we get to do our thing! Getting Christmas dresses and maybe some gifts and then our necessities!

QUOTD:

My weak point is sugar. It's a drug for me. My strategy is simply to not keep most of it in the house. Vita Tops and WW ice cream bars are the only exceptions. The only other sugary things we have in the house are things my husband and daughter like but I don't. But I love sugar. Major addiction. Always will be. Realizing that has been the key this time around. No cakes made with pumpkin or diet coke or whatever this time around. That doesn't work for me. I just like it too much.

Sounds like me. Those cake mix/pumpkin combo things are tasty, but they still have plenty of calories and sugar and they are super hard to avoid!

Luckily, DS has a drum pad for now. He just started lessons after Labor Day so I'm not investing in any expensive musical instruments unless he sticks with it.

Good idea! DB played drums as a teen and it would totally rattle the entire house! Thankfully there are really nice electronic drums now that would eliminate that problem!

I dream of RVing around the country too. It just seems like so care free-as long as DH empties all the waste :)

Or you pay someone else to do it at the campsites! :thumbsup2 DId you ever see the Robin Williams movie "RV"? Very funny scene about him trying to empty the waste for the first time!

Okay, you may have heard this somewhere, but I have to track my food :) I went from counting calories to WW. I love WW & encouraged my mom to join last night. I hope she does. Two of her good friends do it, too, so she knows what it is like. My weak point is sugar. I love all desserts & diet coke. I have learned to not completely deprive myself of sugar or I break down & eat half a package of mint Oreos and diet coke! Oh yes, that happened. So now I try to have a treat every other day. Saturday I enjoyed a kids cone from DQ. Last night I had a snack size bag of Reese's pieces and a mini twizzler. I think I'll do better knowing I can have what I want in moderation.

As long as you can STOP after the snack size bag, then you are doing great! Some folks can't stop, but you definitely need to know your own weaknesses.

Well, DH just decided to start a movie, so I don't have more time here right now. But, the roof got started today! Yay!

I'll be back tomorrow. Have a good night!

Jill

Fingers crossed that the roof project goes quickly and the rain holds off until they are done!!

That is wonderful. We are FAR too busy with kid stuff on the weekends to do any kind of mini vacations for now.

I do believe DH and I are a wee bit older than you. :hippie:

All our combined kids are out of the house. Oldest 33, youngest 25. The grandkids occasional ask if they get to come along but they know then answer is it is grandma and grandpa turn to have fun.

Of course they don't complain much as they do get to have some fun weekend getaways with their parents.

As far as being busy with the kids stuff on the weekends please continue to stay busy and don't blink because those kids grow up WAY to fast. I swear the kids were babies just yesterday. Where did thses grandbabies come from.:rotfl2:

We had our kids a bit later than some, so you may be my age. I have several friends my age and YOUNGER who are grandparents already.... but I also have a SIL and her husband who are about 10 years old then us and adopted about the time we were having babies.... plus my nearly 54 year old BIL who has 7 year old twins!

We will enjoy our "us" time when it is the right time in our lives. We are working hard to stay strong and healthy so that we are READY to enjoy that time!

I have learned to be accountable. When I track what I eat, I do much better (and I started tracking again today! :goodvibes)

WOOHOO on the renewed tracking effort!

pixiedust: I am sending good thoughts your way! Let us know how the interview goes. Hoping they are just interviewing you on the weekend ... but need you to work on the week days.

Now I'm worrying about what to wear and when to fit in a haircut before Saturday morning!:rotfl:

Hey there fellow Losers!! I'm Ashley and I'm your coach for Tuesday and Wednesday! YAY!!

One thing I've realized in my weight loss journey is how much music has been an influence on it. My first step in starting my exercise journey earlier this year was playing Just Dance 3, I try to go to Zumba every week, and I do not go to the gym without my iPod. Something about music just makes me want to keep moving and I find that when the right song comes on while I'm working out, I seem to push myself harder. So...

QOTD Tuesday, 10/16/12: What are your favorite songs that make you want to get up and move?

I'll be eagerly awaiting your replies!
tumblr_m9yxbsTX4w1r31g4wo1_500.gif

Well... silly as it sounds I totally rock out in the car when that new Gangnam style song comes on! BLame my kids for getting me addicted! I also love that summer pop song "Call me Maybe"! I'm a silly old lady! But I've got plenty of older style rock and roll on my phone!

Tuesday already?! The start of this week has not been so great for me. One of my foster puppies has been having digestive issues since his birth. Although I was hoping he would grow out of it, it looks like something may be congenitally wrong with his esophagus. Otherwise he is a healthy, thriving, happy growing puppy. He will run the risk in his life of aspirating his food and developing pneumonia at any time. In addition to the stress of wondering what this all means for him, and waiting for the doctors to come back with a definitive diagnosis, and the vet trips, he now has to be fed in an upright position and held that way for 30 minutes after eating. Not an easy task with a wriggling playful puppy, but he is such a sweetheart, he usually falls asleep after a few minutes. I hope this link works, here are the puppies, they are eight weeks old Thursday: Facebook album full of puppies. Nori, the curly coat black male, is the one afflicted.

Sweet of you to take care of him to diligently.

As if that weren't enough, the scale was creeping up over the weekend and I had no idea why, I was doing everything "right". Then, yesterday, the monthly "why" arrived. ;) That also explains some of my extra emotional feelings and stress this week.

Nothing has thrown off my exercise schedule or my food choices, though. I ate more yesterday than I normally would, but it was all good healthy foods so I'm cutting myself some slack.

I was able to register for the Fantasyland passholder preview yesterday. Another stressful event but I got the day and time I wanted. I want to go back even sooner-- like, tomorrow-- but I'm not sure if I can convince anyone else to come with, and I shouldn't leave right now anyway with the puppy like this. But I wanna! :rotfl:

QOTD Tuesday, 10/16/12: What are your favorite songs that make you want to get up and move?

I have a running playlist that I listen to, it's very motivational. Several Princess & the Frog songs are on it, as well as Florence + the Machine, Modest Mouse, Metric, and lately I've also been digging Imagine Dragons. Sometimes I listen to Spotify for a few hours and collect new running music.

I'd go along with you to the Fantasyland preview!!

Pamela, pixiedust:

Still plugging away here. Still subbing the vacant position! Today makes day 25. The poor people who interviewed did it almost 3 weeks ago. grrr And I'm home for lunch and I have a message on my phone from the principal of the only other school I sub for. He's at a different school now but wants me to take an emergency sub job for him. This is getting ridiculous. I'm supposed to be a woman of leisure who occasionally works! :rotfl:

No music for me. I don't have an ipod, but DS1 left a super old one in his room when he went to college, so maybe I'll start using that.

Lunchtime's over. Gotta head back to the kindergartners.

I'm in Kindergarten today too!!

Hi, Ashley! Thanks for coaching. I love your gifs!

What strategies have YOU learned on this journey? If you are just starting out, what are your weak points? What kind of strategies do you THINK you will need to develop?
I've been at this for years and there are still some weak points. I think I'll always have a sweet tooth and a desire for late-night snacking. But I do have a lot of strategies that have helped me maintain for over 2 years.
* Exercise! Even if I'm maintaining weight, my body needs movement to stay healthy.
* Slip ups happen - get back on track first thing the next morning.
* Sensible portion control
* Find convenience foods and quick meals that fit into your healthy lifestyle. There will always be certain days where "real" food just isn't going to make it on the schedule. Staple non-perishable meal replacement for me is a Larabar or a peanut butter sandwich. For dinners, enriched pasta with previously-homemade (or even store-bought) tomato sauce. Cook a double batch of chicken breasts on Sunday, have some for another night during the week.

QOTD Tuesday, 10/16/12: What are your favorite songs that make you want to get up and move?

Get up and dance is a little different than the songs that get me moving on a run. Dance is usually some upbeat Disney music like Princess and the Frog or Tangled - I know there is some pop music but I'm totally drawing a blank at the moment! For a run, I like some of the earlier Glee stuff (My Life Would Suck Without You, Raise Your Glass) and music like they play at Disney races (Celebrate You theme, Firework).

That's funny! I sometimes sing during my long runs. ::yes::

Love it! "Woman of leisure" has a nice ring to it. Actually I just started to look into substitute teaching (holy career change, Batman!), but I've been finding conflicting information on the licensing requirements. I don't think I could teach every day, all day, but maybe I should look into some sort of specialist or trainer capacity. Last year I looked into becoming a yoga teacher for kids. That plan never really got off the ground, but I would like that.

Maybe you should look into starting your own classes! Find a yoga studio, dance studio, karate studio that has time available to rent! Sounds like it would be fun!

Hello everyone hope all are having a good week, I am sorry I have not been here in a while, starting this new job and I am having to do a whole bunch of stuff that I though I would have more time to do. My son is about to be 4 months and doesn't know how to use a pacifier or bottle. He is breastfeed and is hating me right now trying to force feed him with a bottle. Its nice that it's not raining this week as much, I have been running two miles daily. I recently purchased running sneakers from reebok and my feet feel sore( I think it's due to the fact that I have flat feet and the sneakers have a lot of arch support) I did a two mile breast cancer walk on Saturday then took my kids to sesame place. Bad idea I was so tired by 7pm when we left, walking and being on my feet all day! my buzz and woody

Adorable!! My kids both breast fed exclusively for the first 6 months of life. No bottles, no paci, no solid foods, so I totally get that feeling of being tethered to your baby! It will pass, I promise!! And you are doing such a great thing for them!!

I have always wanted to write a book...I want to visit Aruba and all 51 states....my dreams is to do a full marathon( i am currently working on this one) i have to lose weight get in shape and just run. I never have time to sit down and write, but those are just excuses....I think I am living a dream with my beautiful sons and loving husband.(corny I know but true)

Great dream. And nice that you can appreciate your current "dream" situation! So many folks would be totally envious!

Just had a 4.6 earthquake! It was centered in ME! Quite a way to end the day! The whole house shook! First thought it was the wind or a LARGE truck and then realized it was a quake! FB is going crazy right now!

Ate ok today but didn't workout! Got my yearly check up tomorrow! Hope I don't forget! Then I get to spend the rest of the day shopping with Ash before working for an hour tomorrow night.

Gotta get kids in to bed now!

I only live about 20 mins from the center! actually Hollis used to be my hometown.. however we did not have one thing inside (or outside) fall down - so I feel pretty lucky. The sound was insane - it was a loud rumbling like a freight train or really low flying plane type noise then the shaking then done..

Crazy insane scary!!!! I only live 20 mins from the center!!!! I guess Maine is becoming closer to Cali then we ever thought (we also had a big prostution case bust recently - that was posing as a Zumba studio - and they are slowly releasing the names) with Earthquakes and some other shady buisness.. EEKS :scared:

Congrats to everyone on last week's results!

Way to go, Elle! :cheer2:

And now for something totally OT.
BL friends- I should have posted this earlier to get responses before this evening, but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway. I have DD's parent-teacher conference after work today. She is in Kindergarten at a french immersion school that just opened this year. It is a public school, but a specialty school, so one would have to seek it out and register. While we knew the demographics of the area included a lot of different ethnicities and income levels, we were blindsided when school started with the rampant behavior problems. This isn't just a handful of kids, it's almost a third of DD's class that can't sit still or listen to what they are supposed to be doing. We are 7 weeks into the school year and it has only very slightly improved. I observed her class for 2 hours earlier this week. The classroom was actually worse than I imagined. Tons of time spent just trying to get kids to pay attention. DD has always been a sensitive kid, a little slow to warm up, but since school started her anxiety and tantrums have increased ten-fold. She has been hit, poked, and otherwise bugged by kids where the teacher doesn't notice. DD is usually too shy to speak up or tell a teacher. One time I actually witnessed her get pushed by a child, when she told him to stop, the teacher shushed DD (since she didn't see the pushing). She's afraid to sit next to the majority of boys in her class.

The other issue is that she tells me she's bored. She is a very fast learner and is frustrated by all the time sitting around waiting for other kids to behave or finish their work. She is not being challenged, which is ironic considering the entire school day is in another language! When they finished their worksheets, there didn't seem to be any other learning activities or options. Some kids talked, one or two grabbed a book, the rest colored, and of course as more finished, the more rambunctious the atmosphere became.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet on this school. She has picked up an amazing amount of French and she actually does English workbooks (math and letters) at home for fun. I'm not worried she's going to fall academically behind. I'm worried she's going to continue to have high anxiety, not feel supported by the adults, and lose her love of learning.

Do you all have any advice? I don't want the teacher to think I'm judging her or telling her how to do her job. I don't want to be a helicopter parent. But I do want to advocate for DD. I want to make sure she feels safe, that the adults have her back. I've coached her on speaking up, but I can't do it alone. And if she's worried about getting in trouble for speaking up, it's never going to work. And I want to make sure she is being appropriately challenged.

So sorry for the late-ness of the QOTD today... Couldn't get moving and had somewhere to be this morning... But I'm here now and with today's question! Since I'm now two weeks from Disney World, I'm really in a Disney Mood! Time to break out the Disney music and movies! Which made me wonder...

QOTD Wednesday, 10/17/12: What do you do to get excited for your Disney trips or if you haven't been to Disney, then your vacation in general?

QOTD Wednesday, 10/17/12: What do you do to get excited for your Disney trips or if you haven't been to Disney, then your vacation in general?

I'm a naturally excitable person by nature.. I don't have to do ANYTHING to get excited!! :rotfl2:
I'm doing the Disney P1/2 in Feb and I'm just training in order to get excited. I'm doing some 5 & 10k's to prep for it. I know that all of this is prepping me for an amazing race and every time I lace up those sneakers -- I think about it.

QOTD Wednesday, 10/17/12: What do you do to get excited for your Disney trips or if you haven't been to Disney, then your vacation in general?

The Disboards gets me excited about my Disney trips. Making my ADRs. Imagining the smell of the Polynesian lobby. Thinking about my favorite rides, all the things to do and see, getting on the monorail or the boat and knowing I'll be in the Magic Kingdom. Just that general kid-like spirit of excitement that courses through me.

There is also always a a point of what-have-I-done dread, too. Usually somewhere around the point that I'm packing.

Thanks everyone! It was a banner week, that's for sure. I don't know if I'll have a loss at all this week, too soon to tell, but after a little bump up over the weekend my weight has leveled out. I actually didn't handle the rising scale numbers too well, last night I figure skated for three hours (usually do an hour and a half) and then ran for an hour and was starting to feel a little manic about it. But after that I calmed down, ate a good dinner and also had a protein shake to apologize to my body for all the exercise.

I uploaded a picture from my recent Disney trip as my avatar. But speaking of getting excited for Disney trips... I am really, really considering day tripping it tomorrow. I don't have anything else to do and I could really use a day out of town. If I could take my mom's Prius the gas expense would be negligible. I'm already registered for the AP preview on November 11, it feels a little crazy, but what is an annual pass for if not going a little crazy?

Boot camp tonight, I'm expecting another butt kicking.

OMG Earthquake was scary :scared1: especially in a mobile home with large trees all around you! I only live about 20 mins from the center! actually Hollis used to be my hometown.. however we did not have one thing inside (or outside) fall down - so I feel pretty lucky. The sound was insane - it was a loud rumbling like a freight train or really low flying plane type noise then the shaking then done..

Congrats to the top 10 especially Elle! and Yay for the non scale victories! and way to go Sam! week one sometimes is hard but you had a wedding to figure in and stayed in your points!!!! :cheer2:

Crazy insane scary!!!! I only live 20 mins from the center!!!! I guess Maine is becoming closer to Cali then we ever thought (we also had a big prostution case bust recently - that was posing as a Zumba studio - and they are slowly releasing the names) with Earthquakes and some other shady buisness.. EEKS :scared:

Who knew that Maine would end up the LA of the East?:rotfl:

Glad you are ok. Heard an a-ok from our niece and husband near Kennebunk.

Congrats to everyone on last week's results!

Is there any chance of putting her in another class or is the the only class at her grade level? Sorry I can't offer more advice. I really wish I could offer the perfect solution. I was always a little afraid to speak up to my kid's teachers for fear they they may take it out on my kids (not that it ever happened).
Do you get the impression that these kids have actual medical issues , such as ADHD or are they just unruly and not disciplined?

My heart tells me that you MUST speak to the teacher very frankly. Start by saying how much your DD is learning, etc...but follow with her anxieties and fears. They are a real concern. She absolutely has every right to feel SAFE in school. Fear will distract her.

Good luck.

Ummm... Just talking about the POSSIBILITY of even PLANNING to TALK ABOUT scheduling a day to TALK about a trip is enough to get me :cool1:. DD and I are in the stages of talking about the very remote possibility of me taking her for a graduation trip next year...even that is enough to get us giggling!

Boot camp tonight, I'm expecting another butt kicking.

I'm jealous that you could even CONTEMPLATE the possibility! The kids and I dream about someday just waking up and deciding we want to go to Disney THAT DAY, driving straight to the airport, taking the first flight to Orlando, and driving straight to the parks! No plan, no tickets...just a hastily-packed overnight bag, a camera, and a wallet! We figure from our house, if we caught the first available flight, we could be there, door-to-gate, in 4 hours!

**************

Evening friends! Here at Wendy's stealing their free wi-fi while I wait for DD. intended to make myself familiar with our new Y home tonight, but due to some scheduling mix-up, I ended up here late and without my gym bag. Oh well.

Working again tomorrow, but I will pop on early with the QOTD before I head out.

Excited for tonight's Survivor. Hopefully we can watch tonight, assuming all homework is done, etc.

I haven't shared a new recipe recently! I'll try to get to that tomorrow!........P

Congrats to the top 10 and all participants. Also, congrats to all who had non-scale victories. Rock on!!

I love the non-scale victories being posting. What a great idea and another motivator!

Congrats to everyone on last week's results!

Way to go, Elle! :cheer2:

Oh my. I'm so sorry that DD and you are going through this. It is totally unacceptable to have those behaviors at this age. The teacher may need more help with classroom management techniques from a mentor or colleague. I hope the conference went well and you got some things figured out. I wouldn't stand for this for my children.

I think the word "Disney" gets me excited. I love planning so everything leading up to the vacation is exciting. And, I love to see DSs excited and planning along with me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good evening everyone! I just wanted to check in and say hi. I'm glad to see that all of you in the Maine area are ok. We've had 2 earthquakes near us in PA and I was driving during one & never felt the other. My mom who lives about 1.5 miles away called and asked if my house was shaking & of course it wasn't :(
I have another busy day tomorrow with work and a PTO meeting. I also want to squeeze in an hour of any kind of exercise tomorrow. I have to say, it is hard to fit in exercise when I want with work and kids activities. I know I can workout before work, but I already get up at 6. I'd rather not get up at 5. :) I guess I'll just squeeze in workouts whenever I can. Thanks for reading my complaining :lmao:
Have a great night and I'll try to check in tomorrow.
Jill
Happy Thursday friends! I will be back in about an hour with today's QOTD! Need to dash the kids to school first! BB in a bit..............P
Good morning! Here is your QOTD for Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012
I heard a study on the news this morning. Carrying 100 pounds (or more) of extra weight (in your car) can lead to a 2% reduction in the gas mileage of your car. So that could easily be one person overweight by 100 pounds, two people who are each 50 pounds overweight, or an average family of four, each overweight by 25 pounds or more.
In what other surprising or unusual ways do you think that being overweight can negatively effect your life? Have you discovered things that have changed as you have lost weight that you never expected?
(Thanks to DD for this idea :wave2: )BONUS QOTD: Today is the 161st anniversary of Moby Dick.... a book that I have been trying to finish reading since April! What is your favorite CLASSIC novel??
Some of my favorite songs to run to are:
1. Britney Spears-Womanizer, Till the World Ends, I wanna Go
2. Beyonce-Run the World (Girls)
3. Justin Timberlake-Sexyback
4. Lady Gaga-You and I, Bad Romance
5. Ricky Martin-Livin la Vida Loca
6. Michael Jackson-Beat it, Smooth Criminal
7. Joan Jett-I love Rock N Roll
8. Flo Rida-In the Ayer
9. Beastie Boys-Intergalactic
10. Maroon 5-Moves Like Jagger
GREAT list!! Nice combo of newer stuff and some classics!
How about rising at 5:30? It is only a bit earlier and you could easily still get in 25 minutes. I have been known to sleep in my exercise clothes (except for sneakers and bra) and be "walking away the pounds" within 5 minutes of rising. As much as I hate getting up earlier, it is a WONDERFUL way to start the day, knowing that that "chore" is done! (Or at least partially completed!)
*************************
Wow! Things are certainly quiet around here! Where is everyone?
I was supposed to work today, but she called at 6:50 and said she didn't need me. Of course I was already up, dressed, etc. The only thing I had left to do was make-up and lunches. I appreciate the time at home to get stuff done, but it was a bit frustrating. Pretty sure I won't be called to work tomorrow either, as it is Grandparents Day.
Considering today a BONUS day, since I didn't plan on having the time. After my walk (and more laundry) I will attempt to finish 10 scrapbook pages! YUP, that is my goal for today!
I promised to share a new recipe and I will find something to post this morning. But I am wondering what KINDS of recipes folks might be looking for. Low carb, dinner, breakfast, snacks, crockpot??
Off to find a healthy recipe in my collection to share!............P
Hi all. So I’ve pretty much been absent this whole challenge and not really trying. Well that’s starting to change right now. My cousins and I have a mini challenge coming up and I’m going to win because of my secret weapon
You guys!!!!:thumbsup2
So the challenge is very do able, it’s just the fact we have not been doing much of anything:happytv: so getting back active is the hard part. It’s 5 weeks till Thanksgiving (from today). So the challenge is to lose 10lbs by then the loser (whoever has the lowest % of weight loss) has to drive:drive: home from black Friday shopping.
Good morning all! :goodvibes
Busy week, busy month so I haven't been posting much but I am reading along. Everyone is doing great! :thumbsup2
A big, BL congratulations to all of our superstars and especially to our biggest loser, elleherself! :cool1:
OMG Earthquake was scary :scared1: especially in a mobile home with large trees all around you! Glad that you are okay after the earthquake. :flower3:
Nicole, big :hug: on the kindergarten thing. I am sending you a PM but do want to say make sure that where DD might go isn't the same as where you are now. Your DD is a sweet smart girl who will be successful, just like her momma! :flower3:
So sorry for the late-ness of the QOTD today... Couldn't get moving and had somewhere to be this morning... But I'm here now and with today's question! Since I'm now two weeks from Disney World, I'm really in a Disney Mood! Time to break out the Disney music and movies! Which made me wonder...
QOTD Wednesday, 10/17/12: What do you do to get excited for your Disney trips or if you haven't been to Disney, then your vacation in general?
I can pretty much be excited about Disney any day! :rotfl2: As I approach my Wine & Dine trip in a couple of weeks I've been looking at WDW maps and planning what I want to do. Since I'm going back in January and have to rest before the race, I have to try not to be too commando. This is also the time that I have to remind myself that the purpose of these trips is to enjoy myself and not be stressed out. It works, most of the time. ;)
Congrats to all on the SV's & the NSV's!!! :cheer2:
Congrats to Elle on being the Biggest Loser this week! :cheer2:
And congrats to all who maybe didn't make the list but are sticking to it! Keep going!! :cheer2:
So true! :thumbsup2
Elle, hope that you got to do a spontaneous trip to the world. :smickey:
Some of my favorite songs to run to are:
1. Britney Spears-Womanizer, Till the World Ends, I wanna Go
2. Beyonce-Run the World (Girls)
7. Joan Jett-I love Rock N Roll
8. Flo Rida-In the Ayer
9. Beastie Boys-Intergalactic
Ooo, thanks for the list, Jill, I have about half of these already so I'm sure I will like the rest! :cool1:
Hang in there on the busy times! :flower3:
Things like your furniture and shoes wearing out faster come to mind as well as increased health insurance and life insurance premiums come to mind. I'm sure there are lots of other things but, of course, I can't think of any now . . .
I love any Jane Austen novel for a classic. DS is reading Journey to the Center of the Earth now. I did not realize it is a Jules Verne novel -- I just remember the old movie. :p
Thanks to Pamela and Ashley for pinch hitting on the coaching this week. I've bumped the Question of the Day Archive. I will do a QOTD tomorrow and one for the week-end. By then hopefully we will have a coach or we may be taking turns for the rest of the challenge.
Have a great day all! :goodvibes
