biggest loser couples

I can't believe that his son would disown him for that. :(

Okay, I missed last weeks show and it didn't tape. I was gonna see if it was On Demand, but just haven't gotten around to it. Just in case, can someone please tell me what happened? Why would his family disown him? What did he do?

I can't remember the details but I thought it was simply because his dad was living an unhealthy lifestyle. At least, that's what was said on the show. I'm sure there was much more to it.

Lots of low notes for me last night -

-biggest being the black team gaining 9 pounds each. Yikes! I just can't believe you can gain 9 pounds while earnestly trying to lose weight while on the ranch. Both obviously not vested in the experience as they showed when Jilian tried to talk with them. I was only surprised the other brother didn't quit last night.

-the "unknowns" throwing their eggs at the other team. Really? That was so low.

-the new trainers. Maybe the contestants are losing weight, but unless they all go home and join a boxing club it doesn't look like they're using things they can do back home.

I wasn't a fan of the black team to begin with and I'm not surprised that it happened.

I am so sick of the unknowns and their attitudes. Particularly the yellow team. If I hear one more time, "I'm an olympic gold medalist..." I get that he used to be an athlete and is very competitive, but I think they have taken it to an unhealthy level. I particularly disliked the egg incident and the way the yellow team chewed out Q in front of the entire unkowns side. I have pretty much lost any respect for the unknowns, and I think the yellow team and the trainers are the ones who are really egging it on.

I couldn't agree with you more!!! Except that I dislike the yellow team guy with the beard even more than Rulon. He seems so smug, a "know it all". Drives me insane! The dynamics will be very interesting when they all come together. I wonder how the trainers will interact?

If I saw it correctly, it seemed like the unknown guy trainer was in the ring wearing his leather jacket while working out... who does that?

Well Mr "Awesome" Does that. LOL!

Yeah, Justin annoys me more than Rulon does. I feel like they are trying to take over the team- and not in a good way!

Ok, I was 'mad' at the son for disowning Don but after this week, I totally feel for his son and see why he may have disowned him. If he doesn't care about getting healthy at the Ranch then I doubt he really cares about it at home. He has no respect for himself, his body, his health, or his family.

I don't think Jesse gets it but I think Anthony does and he really needs it. I am cheering for Blue so far...oh and Aqua.

BTW, how is it possible that the pink girl has more percent body fat than the huge girl in Aqua?

I wondered that also, maybe he just meant from the new team and I missed it? :confused3

Anyway, I like Irene so far, I hope she makes it to the end

She said she had been in an accident and was on bed rest for a long time so lost a lot of muscles in her legs. So even though the girl from Aqua (sorry don't know the names yet) is bigger she has a larger percentage of muscle therefore a smaller percentage of fat. At least that's how I took it.

Thanks. If that is the case and the son is simply no longer talking to him because of his weight and lifestyle, that is sad and so wrong. I could understand distancing yourself from your parents if there was alcohol or drug issues, but because a person eats unhealthy? Seems very shallow to me.

There has to be more to the story.

That's what I took out of it as well. Dr. H specifically said she had abnormally low muscle tone, she was almost pure fat.

Yeah, her muscles atrophied due to 3 (?) months of bedrest because of her injuries. She just had nothing there and was staring at a big disadvantage. Can you imagine trying to work out when you had no muscle? She must of really been hurting.

To an extent I get it. To his son he saw it as the same as drugs or alcohol issues. He was watching his father eat himself to death so to speak and he didn't want to stand by and watch him do that.

Agreed and I'm surprised she's able to compete as she is like that

Now that we are several weeks into it, I have somewhat figured out who I am not a fan of and who I like (at least out of those on the ranch). I am not a fan of the purple team, they are just annoying. I also am not a fan of the blue team. I don't think they "get it" and I don't think they have everything they can into this.

I really like the green team.

I am glad next week everyone is coming back together and I am interested to see how Bob and Jillian interact with the new trainers.
