Welcome Past, Present and Future WISH Biggest Loser Participants!

This thread is to help us get through the holidays and give us a “home” until the next round of Biggest Loser starts ~ WISH style! A new Biggest Loser challenge will be starting in January. Until then let's support each other as we navigate the tricky holiday season. :santa:

The Biggest Loser Spring Challenge will be starting January 1st and run through May 11th. Our hostess, Janis ,will be giving us more details shortly.

We will have 2 weeks of the alumni thread. We are going to keep track of our weight loss ourselves. I'm hoping to do a coach of the day rotation schedule so if you are interested in being a coach for a day or two please let me know. :flower3:

We are here to offer support, cheer you on, and every so often ask a Question of the Day to keep it all “fresh”.

Since our Biggest Loser Fall Challenge will still be active through December 16th I won't post a warm up QOTD until around December 13th. In the meantime, please feel free to join us here: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=42490725&postcount=1

Think of this as our BL virtual holiday open house party. :santa: I'm hoping to see as many BL folks as we can find at least stop by and say "hello" so if you know of a previous (or future) participant send them a PM and encourage them to stop by once the thread gets going!

QOTD, Saturday, December 17th. Music is a huge stress reliever for me. What is on your current playlist? Do you have a favorite holiday song?Question of the Day.

QOTD, Sunday, December 18th. Do you open presents before or after breakfast?

QOTD for 12/19/11: We all have great family traditions for holiday time, be it Hannukkah, Kwaanza, or Christmas. But imagine life got REALLY crazy busy and you had to start dropping things from your list. What is the ONE tradition that you could not possibly foresee giving up? Is is making special cookies together as a family? Is it a relaxing cocktail party with friends? Trimming the tree with your kids???

bonus QOTD! For those who celebrate Christmas.... white or colored lights??? Flashing or still???

For those who celebrate Hannukah.....Real candles or electric??

QOTD Tuesday, 12/20: What is one thing on your to-do list that must get done before the holiday(s)? How are you going to make sure that you do it? Fluff QOTD: What ride/attraction do you WISH you were on/at/doing right now?

Wednesday 12/21 QOTD: with less than 4 days to go before Christmas, what one thing have you been putting off that you need to prioritize and get done today? I'm sure we all have those little things that we've put off thinking we'll get a minute soon, but soon never seems to get here.

Thursday 12/22 Holiday QOTD:Do you have matchy matchy paper or is it a free for all?

Disney Fluff Question of the day:
If you were to go to Disney during the holidays would you decorate your room?

Friday 12/23 QOTD: Did you ask Santa for anything health or fitness related for Christmas or did you buy anything health or fitness related for someone else that will join you on your weight loss/fitness journey? It so what was it?

Disney Fluff Question of the day:

If you could go or do go to Disney around the holidays, do you take part in the holiday Santa's from Epcot's World Showcase and if so, which one do you enjoy the most and why?

Saturday, 12/24/11 QOTD: If you woke up today and it was time to open one present, what would you want it to be? Not peace on earth, not a husband that does the dishes, something you can hold in your hands, ride, drive, or see. What tangible present would make you squeal with delight today?

Question of the Day Sunday, 12/25/11: Was there any thing special or surprising under the tree?

QOTD 12/26/11 Monday: During this giving season, did you give a gift or receive a gift that was extra special? What was it, and why was it so special to you or the receiver (if you were the giver)? Fluff QOTD: Did you watch the Disney Christmas parade today? Did you have a favorite part?

QOTD 12/27/11 Tuesday: HOW DO YOU PLAN TO AVOID OVEREATING ANY HOLIDAY LEFTOVERS? DO YOU HAVE A FITNESS PLAN FOR TODAY?

Fluff Question: What is one movie you really want to watch right now? It doesn't have to be in theaters, it can be an old classic that you just don't see much anymore.

Wed 12/28 qotd- Is there a time of year you find it easier to stick with your weight loss plan? So many people start off the new year eating well and exercising to beat the band and then burn out. Is there something you can do this new year to start off on the right foot and to stay there this time?

Disney fluff qotd, inspired by Rose who is in disney right now. If you were in WDW or DL right now, what would you be doing? I know it's been done several times before, but i just love reading everyone's answers to this question.

Thursday 12/29/11 QOTD: What do you plan to do to start off 2012 on a healthy note?

Fluff QOTD: If you could only go to one disney park on your next trip which one would you choose and why?

Stick me in to coach on Monday 12/19. I think that day will work for me!..............P

Jingle, jingle, jingle . . . those sleigh bells are getting closer. :santa:

The fall challenge will be ending tomorrow and I will post the first QOTD on this thread tomorrow.

Looking forward to a fresh new thread!................P

Yep, I do love a brand, new shiny thread, too. ::yes::

I thought of you and your DD this morning, Pamela, when I was running on my indoor track at 5 am and saw all the swimmers and their families at the competition pool. That takes a lot of dedication to do that morning after morning! :thumbsup2

Since we are still wrapping up the fall challenge thread today with our BL lovefest, I think we should start our QOTD tomorrow. :santa:

I came on here to see if there were any open coaching spots and they were all taken! That's fantastic that everyone has stepped in. I'll check in here after my 10K tomorrow.

I'm glad I checked in to see about things. I forgot that I was hosting on Sunday.

Have a great evening.

My current playlist is the Tangled Soundtrack. I've been listening to it pretty much nonstop for the past three days or so.

Favorite holiday songs...that's tricky, but I have 3. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays by NSync is one I've been listening to for many years. Another favorite is Sleigh Ride because we played it every year in high school as the Christmas concert closer. We weren't allowed to play it as a group until it snowed-thankfully it always snowed before the concert! I also like the music from Home Alone, as we played a medley of that my freshman year and despite the fact that it was advanced and difficult, I enjoyed the piece and rising to the challenge.

Tomorrow is going to be "clean out the kitchen day"...fun, fun, fun!

My current playlist is Josh Groban's "Noel" album and Michael Buble's new Christmas album. I also have a lot of Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Reba Mcentire, and a mixture of rock music (Aerosmith, Linkin Park, Nickelback, etc).

My favorite holiday song: any of them sung (sang?) by Bing Crosby. :) I also love the Christmas Song by the Chipmunks,. We listened to my mom's vinyl record of that every year as we were putting up the Christmas tree.

I love Oh Holy Night. It was my fathers' favorite song, and always remember putting on his record for him with that song on it. I love Where are you Christmas lately, and one of my favorite cd's my sister gave me a few years ago is the Partridge family Christmas album. I remember the original album that came with a card signed by them all, and I love all the songs, but especially Our Christmas card to you. I haven't been using my cd's much this year, just have the radio on with the christmas music station.
Living in the dark ages, I don't have a playlist.;) I should get a cheap mp3 player and put all my favorite songs on it one of these days.

Good morning everyone! We slept late today and am enjoying my coffee before we head out for our morning walk. It's a good weekend for cleaning and organizing, and I'm planning to do some baking, definitely spritz, and maybe we'll do our gingerbread men tonight. We'll have to wait and see how productive i really am today. I'm determined to relax and enjoy the season too. Life is short, treasure all the happy little moments.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

:santa: Hi everyone! :santa:

I returned home from IL yesterday afternoon. I was up for a few hours watching tv with Alan and crashed in the early evening and slept hard til midnight. I've been up ever since .

I enjoyed my visit with family but have come to the conclusion when I come back in the spring that I'm going to be staying in a hotel. The constant bickering/complaining from different family members was enough to drive me out of my mind.

I loved being able to see everyone but I am definately NOTa winter type of person. When I landed in Moline there was half an inch of snow on the ground and it was 22 degrees! BRRRRR!! I told my mom that next year if she wants to see me for her birthday that i'm flying her to FL.

I didn't work out at all while I was out of town and I did fairly well when it came to eating. I had my mom take me grocery shopping after I landed and got some things for meals. We only ate out 3 times while I was up there. First time was Hardees and then two other times we had pizza. I got on the scale this morning and surprisginly didn't gain anything the entire time I was there.

I think we're just going to relax around the house today and going to go see either the Muppet movie or the Chipmunk movie tomorrow at Downtown Disney.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I"m imagining you at the gym right now. Hope it is going well.

Anyhow.... I'm VERY tired of the songs on my playlist right now. I haven't updated it in about a year. I need to add some newer songs because I keep stopping when I run to change the song.

Favorite holiday song? DD and I LOVE the Mariah Carey version of "All I want for Christmas".... and before you are HORRIFIED, let me explain. Mariah sang it at the Disney Christmas parade a few years ago.... and it was the Christmas before one of our family trips... so we really watched that parade with great attention, trying to feed our trip anticipation. I can still picture Woody and Jessie dancing in front of the castle to this song! Anyhow, I love this song because it reminds me so much of DISNEY and a great family trip!!

My current playlist is the Tangled Soundtrack. I've been listening to it pretty much nonstop for the past three days or so.

DD has that on her Ipod (which sadly, has been missing for a few months now) and we were listening to it in the car frequently.... but now we have to resort to playing it on the computer. Maybe I'll put it on today while I am cleaning.

Just be sure it goes in the trash and not your mouth!

I like the Partridge family too.... I think I have their greatest hits album (well, CD) and have several on my phone/music player. But I'm afraid we are showing our age by admitting this!!:rotfl:
