Biggest Loser Alumni Holiday Edition: past, present and future participants welcome!

Why no, I didn't drop off the face of the earth! Well kind of

I think its been since before thanksgiving that I posted, is everyone still here or did we move to a new thread? I had to stop posting, mostly for my own sanity. School kind of got into high gear at the end of the semester and I had to focus on that.

I hope everyone is doing well! I've been slacking on the diet front, not tracking calories, but still lost 4 lbs since thanksgiving, which im proud of. Despite not tracking calories, I still have been trying to keep up with my healthy eating habits and i've done pretty well. I've even been able to sneak in a few treats here and there. It feels good, and I've been feeling a lot better about myself lately. I need to get back on the wagon though. I have 15 lbs to go before I hit my goal and I know I can do it!

Excersice has been really depressing. I think I mentioned my hip injury before i dissapeared but its much worse. I've been seeing an orthapedic doctor and he says its bursitas and also a problem with my IT band. not the news i wanted. I'm under STRICT orders not to run (havent run since thanksgiving, when i finished my first 5 miles race) and its bumming me out. But most days I can barely walk. I'm doing physical therapy 3 times a week but working out is very limited, and ive not had much time with school anyways

so thats a little update from me, i miss all ya'll, but i didnt think it was fair to anyone how little i was posting and being involved. now that school is over for a month i will have more time. hope everyone is well!
So sorry to hear about your hip. I hope the PT is helping, and i'm sure it is so frustrating not to be able to run, but take it slow, and give it time, and you will heal and hopefully slowly be able to add some running in again. Enjoy your school break. The NO EXCUSEs spring challenge thread has been posted, and if you pm Janis the hostess, Buzz5985 she will assign you to a team. Good to see you back. Good luck with the hip.:goodvibes:hug:

Okay well I'm going to post here while I wait to find out which eam I'm on :)

We got home from Daytona Beach a few hours ago. We decided to stay a 2nd day. We didn't do a whole lot but lounge and over the course of 2 days I walked 4 miles on the beach. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I didn't track anything (other then exercise) while I was gone. I didn't bring the laptop but have the Sparkpeople app on my Blackberry. We may go back in January around the anniversary of Josh and Maddie's passing. I don't like to be home that day, its just way to hard.

I'm going to be busy the next few days between getting a meal plan, exercise plan, and grocery list done for the month. I also need to finish laundry that I started before we left. However my main thing to do is get my desk cleared off and organized. I'm tired of looking at it . I also need to get bills paid at some point.

We've also decided at the end of our tenant's 1 year lease we're putting the house on the market. Not going to bore you with the long story but basically I'm sick of the realtor who is our property manager. She's literally calling or texting Alan every other day complaining about one thing or another with the house. There's not a darn thing wrong with the house. "Oh well there's trash in the yard. There's this and that blah blah blah. I'm going to have to hire someone to do blah blah blah. UGHHHH!!

Hind sight is always 20/20. I should of just put the darn thing on the market before I left TX. However, our other realtor has already been informed when the lease is up she can list it.

Good morning all!

Welcome to the final day of our BL Holiday Alumni thread! :santa:

I am your coach today so I am going to post a quick QOTD.

How are you going to ring in the New Year? Big party, quiet night at home, traditional meal? Or all of the above?

Fluff Disney QOTD: Have you ever been to WDW or DL during New Year's Eve? What did you do? Did you like it? Or if you haven't been what would be your perfect Disney New Year's celebration?

Sorry but I have to do my long run this morning because my community center is closed this week-end so I'll be back later with replies. :goodvibes

We're spending a busy evening at home. Finally sat down to watch Dick Clark's countdown.

We've never been to WDW or DL for NYE, but we have for Thanksgiving and 4th Of July. We did not do a park for either holiday as we knew it would be packed. We did book a fireworks cruise on the 4th and it was very nice. We were on a big boat on 7 Seas Lagoon, hosted by pirates with the fireworks music piped in. The view of the castle and fireworks was amazing and we had no crowds to fight :thumbsup2

I'm going to go check the Donald thread, but wanted to pop in one last time to Wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Since I have a 4 day weekend I decided that I should redo our Main bathroom. Now I've been planning this for years and already bought the accessories and supplies to remove the wallpaper. I thought I would just need time and paint. Nothing ever goes as planned. We decided to fix the tub faucet as it had a drip. That turned into needing to totally replace the faucet. That was after my mother and I spent 7 hours stripping wallpaper. At trip to Home Depot (they are totally clueless) and $200 later we thought we had all the paint and supplies. This morning we go to take the toilet out to strip the wallpaper from behind it and paint there. One of the bolts that hold it to the floor snapped off and the ring that hold the bolt was rusted beyond repair :headache: I decided to use our shower/tub in the master bath which we never use, I don't want to have to clean it and using the main bath has never been an issue. Anyhow, the cartridge that controls the mixing of hot and cold water has apparently stopped working so now we only get HOT water. Add that to the list for today's trip to Home Depot. Today DH and I spent 12 hours in the bathroom painting walls, trim, closet etc. Mom helped us for another 6 hours. Home Depot trip another $200. I should be able to put things back together tomorrow, but it took longer than expect and cost way more than planned. Now I know why I put it off for 2 years ;)

Happy New Year! Just wanted to let everyone know that Mom was able to come home this afternoon and she's doing much better. She has decided that she's going to document all the problems she's had at work with her boss and other staff and take it to corporate compliance.

We did have to go back out to the hospital this evening because they forgot to give her bag of medications that she brought in back to her. :headache: We also went to Wegmans to buy some groceries and had some Chinese food from there. I ate some not so healthy things tonight, but Mom and I are planning to get back on track with the Healthy Habits tomorrow. :thumbsup2 Our "Harry Potter marathon" was actually Sorcerer's Stone and part of Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Was anybody else disappointed by Disney's big announcement?

We were disappointed with the announcement. No change of us being at a park on Feb 29th so no use to us. Usually they have exciting promotions each year, but this one will be done and overwith by March 1. Maybe they do something different then :confused3

Oh my my.... why is it those things never go as planned?

We had to do a bit of "redecorating" at my Mom's on NYE day. The upstairs toilet got clogged and flushed and overflowed FROM THE BOTTOM (under the toilet, on the floor). We used literally EVERY towel in the house to mop up the minor flood. Then I started the laundry process as DH, Dbrother, and my Dad started trying to figure out the problem. They decided that it was the seal/wax ring under the toilet. But then someone chimed in with "Mom has never liked this toilet anyhow. If we have to pull it up, why not replace it?" Well.... of course, that entailed an hour round-trip drive to Worcester to get the toilet at Lowe's.... then 30 minutes to install and then 15 minutes to figure out that the toilet seat that was supposed to be included was NOT in the box. So another hour round-trip to Worcester for DH to get a toilet seat. Anyhow..... I am TOTALLY feeling your pain! But when it is all done, you will be so happy that you got it all redecorated AND got everything fixed!! Did you paint it purple???

Glad to hear that Mom is home and taking POSITIVE actions to take care of herself and her situation. I'm sure that she will be feeling empowered by documenting the problem and that should help her a lot.

Our "Potter-thon" consisted of me trying to stay awake to watch #5 on Sunday afternoon, and then watching #6 and both parts of #7 yesterday. It was good, but not quite as good as I had hoped.

I agree about being disappointed. If you were already going in late February, this is going to probably change the crowd calendars and might be frustrating. If you were NOT already going in late February and want to take advantage of this, you probably have to scramble to get your stuff in order before everything sells out. And honestly.... one day??? Sure it would be fun to be there all night, but it is a one day thing. What about the rest of the people visiting the other 365 days of 2012? Is there nothing special to see/look forward to??

Well friends..... I've finally gotten around to posting and PMing over on the new challenge thread, so hopefully I will get a team assignment soon. Not sure when this thread is going to be be shut down/locked up, but I can see that most of you are posting elsewhere now.

Home with a cold today. Will take down the Christmas tree and do some cleaning..................P
