Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

1ST- I would like to go into Cinderella's Castle in "the suite" -that is my dream..
anyhow-- yesterday I did a Billy Blank tape-- it hurts today and also 1hour of treadmill...today I did 78 minutes on the tread and weights...would have done the elliptical but DD wasn't feeling good:sick:--couldn't go to the neighbors house :guilty:...but still doing good!

Question for everyone- I'm sure this has been asked b4 but has anyone used P90X or Insanity??? Is it worth it? or you feel like you want to die? Thanks...

I think I'm going to have to get some neon nail polish...:goodvibes

Tracey pixie dust sent to carry away your headache!

I walked the dogs today for 1/2 hour outside pretty slowly, then did 35 minutes of WalkIt Out and stopped b/c my back was aching. I don't like getting old! ;)

For some reason Maria your post about the 100 calorie snacks has really made an impact on me and I'm avoiding them again today. Thank you!

Watching Wizard of Oz right now with dd...I thought that movie was 3 hours long...turns out it's actually under 2!! I guess tv must stretch it out.

I'm making spaghetti tonight (whole wheat high fiber pasta - don't tell my family because they don't like it:lmao:) w/ grean beans and I'm having a piece of Texas toast...my "treat" for the day. I should just duct tape it to my thighs but then I don't get to enjoy it.:rotfl:

Ann did you get through your list today??

I think I've sold myself short on my Disney dreamin' after reading all of your ideas! I'll just add them all to my list. I would really love an Adventures by Disney trip, they look so fabulous.

Thanks, friends! Headache is gone! I ended up having a small bottle of Mt. Dew this afternoon and that seemed to help me. I also had a 2nd chocolate chip cookie and my small handful of M&Ms. I was DESPARATE!

Making pizzas for supper as we had some nasty storms roll through. Cinco de Mayo will be delayed by a day as we will have to grill the pork chops tomorrow. I guess Friday will be chicken and steak tips.

Going to do at least 2 miles while watching BL tonight! I'm really tired but I want to keep it up this week.

Enjoy the show tonight!

It's 'cause we always saw it on tv--with the commercials it's loong. Husband hates the whole wheat pasta. I of course, got a bunch on sale so will mix it with regular so he'll eat it. The flax is good.

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?
I want to see Disneyland's 100th birthday. Even if it's on tv or online, I want to be there for it.

Well my little scare earlier this week where I was at my goal weight instead of below it put me 6 pounds under my goal weight today. I'm at 129 today-- I know last night I was losing a lot of water weight--draining from auntie flo so I was curious today and sure 'nuff. I don't think I'll be able to hold at this weight until Disneyland--but it'd be nice.:confused3

I needed something light and fluffy today because its gonna be a long one!!!. Because after work today is running-around-nuts: :goodvibes

That made me tired just reading it! Hope you get it all done!

Oh, my dear DISer's. I have missed you. You may all want to check your fridge's to make sure you still have food because I have ate every bite of food I have come across! I have spent the last week and a half eating every meal like its my last!

Glad you enjoyed the Grand Strand. I literally vacationed there every year from age 5 to 25, close to 30. Once DD came along, we started looking for smaller SC/NC beaches. And last year at WDW, DD said "I NEVER want to go to the beach again. This place too good to miss by going to the beach." I kinda agree! ;) Your post made me laugh, glad you are back, we missed you!

The Between the BLs Summer Challenge 2010 will be a 13 week challenge from 5/28/10 through 8/27/10. We do listen and try to accommodate you.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! This place rocks!

Tomorrow is back to work for me. With no caffeine. I don't usually have much, but some afternoons I get really sleepy. My echocardiogram was read and everything is normal.:) So now I need to work on the stress. I started doing the "8 minute meditations."

Hang in there. I can't imagine not having my morning coffee, and I did have some headaches when I cut soda. Hope you do okay tomorrow!

We would love to do a Disney Cruise someday, ideally one to the new resort in Hawaii :goodvibes We are planning a Hawaii vacation to the new resort in 2012 in celebratioin of our 20th Anniversary. After this summer's DVC stay at the Tree House Villas I will be hoardiing points for that stay. I'd like to add in a stop at Disneyland on one leg or the other and hopefully make the trip a 3 week trip.

THAT WOULD BE GREAT!

Watching Wizard of Oz right now with dd...I thought that movie was 3 hours long...turns out it's actually under 2!! I guess tv must stretch it out.

LOVE Wizard of OZ!

Thanks, friends! Headache is gone! I ended up having a small bottle of Mt. Dew this afternoon and that seemed to help me. I also had a 2nd chocolate chip cookie and my small handful of M&Ms. I was DESPARATE!

So glad your headache was gone! I have a friend that was an ATF guy, and he said that a MT. Dew and an Excedrin migraine together give the same effect as speed! Glad it's gone!

I'm at 129 today-- I know last night I was losing a lot of water weight--draining from auntie flo so I was curious today and sure 'nuff. WOW!!! :worship:

My Disney list: (gonna be long)
*stay in the castle
*have a 2 week vaca with the girls (AND their Daddy )
*run a half!;)
*take an adults only trip for our 20th anniversary
*take a Disney cruise (or all of them)
*Have 1 or both daughters in CP
*Have 1 or both daughters married there
*visit the DVC resort in Hawaii
*spend the month of January there as snowbirds sometime when we retire
*have enough points to do all the above!
*ALL the tours, segway, AKL safari, KTTK, Dolphin Encounter, dine w/ Imagineer
* do an adventures by Disney!

Feeling better. Haven't been hungry at all today, so I didn't eat much. Did an ab workout and some reps with hand weights of various stuff for my arms. Wore some new clothes today, someone commented something to the effect of "you've been hiding all the weight loss." Had someone else comment how quickly I had reached my goal, I HAD to answer that I have 30-40 more pounds before I reach goal. Got a lecture about how sick I would look. :confused3

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

I cooked for the second night in a row.:cool1: (I know for some of you that is no great feat, but since DS went to college in August, we have been eating A LOT of takeout. Not a good thing.:confused3) I got two new vegetarian cookbooks over the weekend--I had a Borders coupon. Tonight I made this awesome sauce with broccoli rabe, carrots, onions, celery, veggie stock and lemon juice. It was soooo good. If anyone wants the recipe, I will be happy to post it on the recipe thread. The recipe had you putting it over a goat cheese gnocchi which was really easy to make. I know goat cheese is high in fat, but we have most of the gnocchi left over and just smothered what we ate in sauce. I think given that the sauce had almost no fat (1T olive oil) I will be ok. I used less goat cheese and one less egg than they called for as well. Next time I think I will make use even less goat cheese and get a different kind. It was a little salty, so I will leave out the salt in the gnocchi. Ok sorry for the book, but I'm enjoying cooking again.

Tomorrow night we are going to have spicy coconut veggie stir fry!

QoftheDay--I would love to take a cruise. We were scheduled to do a Disney cruise over Christmas in a stateroom with a balcony in December of 2001. We ended up cancelling with everything that was going on. My DS has been to Disney lots of times, but I am a little sad that we never took him on a cruise. Luckily he still loves to go to WDW in December so that is our standing family vacation--Disney after fall exams are over.:goodvibes

Have a great evening. I think I need to walk off some of my goat cheese gnocchi!

Thanks for the info on the summer challenge. woot!woot! I'm ready to start fresh again.

QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?

Going sans kids! I love my kids, but look forward to doing Disney someday and only having to worry about what *I* want to do. (in that case, I better go sans husband, too, eh?)

I've been not exercising because there are a ton of boxes and crap stacked on my treadmill after clean spring/reorganizing. Tonight I'm stopping the excuses - I have a mini trampoline on the backporch I'm going to pull in front of the tv and jump while watching the second half of TBL.

eta: I should have unburied the treadmill instead...400 minutes walking/jogging is nothing compared to just 15 minutes jumping!

I didn't have any excedrin migraine, just a Motrin IB. But it worked! And it gave me energy to do 2.5 miles on the elliptical with no problem. I only stopped because I had to go to the bathroom especially after Koli made a remark on the show (NO SPOILERS). Enjoying some more water. I would've done 4 if I had started earlier.

Going to get up at 5:30 and do a 3 mile workout and then I will be sprinting around the mall with Redwalker for about 90 minutes. There's another 5 miles at least. Will try and do more later tomorrow evening, maybe more elliptical as it felt good.

Pork chops and veggies on the grill tomorrow for supper! As long as we don't get any more nasty rain and wind, that is!

DH and I need to go clean the kitchen during the commercials. Enjoy the show and the rest of your evening.

Evening Everyone! I am so sorry that I have been so busy during the days that I could not get on and respond to you all. I have loved reading today's responses though because dreaming of Disney dreams makes me so happy! :cloud9:

My Disney dream is a cruise...I want to go on the Western Caribbean one. Maybe one day...:goodvibes

We did the Western Caribbean this summer (it was suppose to be an Eastern cruise but due to the storms...we went west). It was great and I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

I would love to go back and stay at the Poly. As a child we stayed there and I loved it. We do go back to visit, but haven't stayed there with the kids.

Thank you for your advice with my gym closing. After speaking with alot of the members yesterday it seems alot of us will be checking out the brand new gym down the road. One of the girls went yesterday to see if we can get enough people to join at the same time if they would be willing to work some sort of deal.

We LOVE the Poly! I have been really fortunate to get great deals there our past 2 stays but I am thinking that we will not be able to continue to find deals we can afford. I hope you get to go there again...this time with your kids!

I am so glad that you are speaking with some of the other gym members about sticking together!

Take any DCL European trip. Because I think it might be the only way I can get DH to Europe...

And here is my wish for Jen's DD and DS: That we get to see them perform on the main stage at the Magic Kingdom or on the Dream, Fantasy, Magic or Wonder!!!:banana:

Jude - Maybe we will have to start planning a European DCL trip together?! ;) I think it would be fabulous to one day see my kids on stage for some Disney performance. Last summer Emily went out and danced in the streets at the MK with the CM while waiting for a parade and they thought she should apply for the CP...I quickly informed them she was a LONG ways from college age!

Hope your day was not too crazy. I am trying to type you a long e-mail but I keep getting distracted. I promise to get on it tomorrow!

Applebee's WW fish dish (??tilapia??) is delicious and very filling.

That is what I had and it was really good!

Oh, my dear DISer's. I have missed you. You may all want to check your fridge's to make sure you still have food because I have ate every bite of food I have come across! I have spent the last week and a half eating every meal like its my last!

:rotfl: My fridge is still full and I am struggling with not eating it all too!

The one Disney thing that I dream of doing one day is going to every single Disney park and having a poster of the castle from each one in my office from those trips. :cloud9: Two down -- three to go! :thumbsup2

That is so cool! I love to have little trinkets from Disney all over my classroom to make me happy. :goodvibes

So I had my weigh in tonight and lost 2.4 lbs for a total loss of.....99.8 lbs. Yup, as close as I can get to 100 gone without actually being there. Oh well, next week is my 1 year anniversary on ww so I will work on making that goal!

Here we celebrate our progress and recognize our superstars.

Throwing in a quote from lisah0711: This is not an easy journey that we are on. We are the only ones who can make this dream happen for ourselves. Ask yourself what is really important to you? What will make you and your families happier at the end of the day? Will taking care of yourself and being healthy help you with your goals? What can you do each and every day to get yourself where you want to be?

Biggest Loser 9 Spring Challenge Week 17!
total group loss =19.6 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.40 %
:cool1:
Total group weight loss so far 1224.8 pounds!
Let’s see when we will hit 1250 pounds!

Retention Rate (compared to the 135 weighins for our start weigh-in on Jan 1st)
(32+4+2)/ 135 = 25% :goodvibes (this includes the Losers and Maintainer and Excused people!)

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 17? This time I’ve done a TOP 10 LIST which includes a tie, so there’s really 11 names in the list! That criteria may change from week to week. Hey I'm in charge here and I get paid nothin' to do this so you better take what you can get!;);):rotfl: (and if there’s something you want to know, just ask me!)

NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!

NOTE: this list includes participants who have reported in within the last 3weeks, once someone misses 3 weigh-ins they are dropped from this report.

How this works: you set your goal for what to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal.
Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) – all you have to do is send me a PM.
Since the goals are an individual thing, the list is just in alphabetical order to make it easier for everybody to find their own name. If there are any questions or suggestions please let me know. This is something new for BL9 :goodvibes

We have done 17 out of 20 weeks, so the challenge is 85% complete.

Woo Hoo! I am on track to make my goal for this challenge! Let's make these last few weeks count people!
:hippie:

Morning, and Happy Cinco de Mayo all! Thankfully I woke up in a much better frame of mind this morning. That 20 minutes I spent toning yesterday made a much bigger difference in my mentality, I feel stronger and less flabby. All about the power of suggestion, I guess!

Going for my run in an hour, then off to school. I pray for a better day than yesterday. I had a boy pee in the corner of the bathroom rather than the urinal, then get mad about getting caught; I am really working with him on anger management, so when he got back from the office in his defiant mode, I gave him a pillow to hit. He shredded it. The rest of them argued, fought, and whined all day. I laid down several consequences of their behavior, namingly ABC order lines and no talking snack times for the rest of the year. Basically, if they can't line up without a fight, or talk nicely to each other, I'll remove those priviledges. They got the picture.:rotfl:

Good morning everyone. Sorry not being here for the last couple of days. School got in the way. Today is the big day for my students. AP exam day. All I can do is pray that they remember what I have taught them.

I took the day off today. I have 4 AP classes and most of them will be gone because of testing. The one class that I would have will be coming from the test so they will not be in any mode to do anything. So I took the day

I have a foot doctor's appointment this morning. I need to talk to him about the orthotics he made me. My right foot seems to be turning out when I wear them. My old ones never did this.

QOTD
Dh and I have been talking about this. We are starting to talk about retirement and we plan to go to DW to celebrate.
Dh wants to stay for at least 2 weeks.
I want to stay in BLT with MK view for 2 nights.(the practical person in me won't let me stay any longer.
Both do the KTTK tour
Both do the Halloween party.
I would like to see Food and Wine, Christmas decorations, and Flower and Garden

Have a nice day everyone. I think I am going to take a walk.

WOOHOO!!!!! I can't believe I was first! Of course, I am having trouble getting back there after the weekend. It is TOM this week so maybe that's it. And the headache yesterday derailed me a bit. I ate a little extra to get rid of it. Slept in this morning so I will do 2 miles at 7:30 and then meeting redwalker for our walk! Hopefully I can get back to a maintain by Friday and try to reach 50 pounds by next Friday. Weekend might be difficult with a 1st communion get together and then Mother's Day. And next weekend is DD2s birthday so I will have to watch it carefully!

I feel great and that is the most important part. Working out is feeling good again. I plan on doing 2 miles every night on the elliptical for the next few weeks. I should do well with my eating today and tomorrow so I may get back to where I want to be. It's so hard when it's so close. I feel like Sam last night on the show!

PLEASE HELP! I can't get the clippie posted again! Why can't I do this? It just won't work anytime I try to do it! What am I doing wrong?
