Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Morning all. I am in a bit of a funk today. I really wanted to finish out this challenge with 5 more pounds gone, but I am getting hit in the head with a reality check. Maybe TMI, but, does any one else find that when they overeat, or eat more unhealthy stuff, digestion is messed up? After all the salad and meat Sunday, my stomach stayed cramped up and I had to make several potty trips. I feel so bloated and blah and the scale shows it!

:worship:Thank you for the suggestion to go shopping. After DD's checkup yesterday (she's so little, 25th percentile for height and weight, then dd2 on the 85th and 95th just blows us away after producing this tiny kid first, that is totally unlike anyone else in the family), I hit the tiny mall and Belk. Bought medium and 12's, I don't think I've had mediums in 20 years!

I almost felt....slutty... in my new clothes. They are not tight and showy, but they fit. After looking like a clown, it was quite a change!
I decided that for me, 20 pounds must equal 1 pants size. My 16s were tight, lost 40, and now the 12s fit. So if I want to get to an 8, 40 more to go, or just lose the belly, which might add up to less than 40.

I saw someone yesterday that I hadn't since winter, and she just went on and on about how I look. I just said thanks, and didn't mention how much more I want to lose. I wanted to, but remembered my new outlook!

Have a great Tuesday. :goodvibes Off to work on abs and arms!

Thanks, everyone!

Took the early morning off! I just really wanted an extra 45 minutes sleep which I actually slept! I was falling asleep on the couch last night. I guess I'm still catching up on sleep from last week. I'll do a 3 miles workout after putting DD1 on the bus and then I'll so more this afternoon and hopefully get in 2 miles on the elliptical during BL tonight.

Going to grill pork chops for supper tonight. I actually should go marinate them.

Got a slight headache this morning.

I vow to only eat 1 chocolate chip cookie today. Going to take a WW or LC with me to work. No clients scheduled but I decided to give my room a thorough cleaning so I'll shut myself in the room with some music and clean away and organize my files. It's been awhile since I've done that.

Time to get moving and make DD1s lunch and get dressed.

Going to be another nice day here today! Enjoy everyone!

mornin' everyone!

quick question - Is there usually a summer challenge on here? I need to hit hard again but don't know if I can do it on my own without having anyone to report to. I have 8 weeks off work starting mid-June and I can't wait to get down to business during that time!

Good morning everyone! I haven't been on in a few days I think...Friday I hurt my back working out - ouch!! Saturday I could hardly move, Sunday I went for a walk - slowly but I walked ;) and ate too much! Yesterday I was getting out of the shower and heard a big POP somewhere between my hip and spine and my back was better! It got all tingly and felt better. I still decided (with DH's sage advice ;) ) not to workout but walked a few times and did Walk It Out for breaks in my scoring. I stopped my last WIO b/c my back started to ache. Today my back is sore again. :headache: Not like before though, I guess maybe the muscles are sore from whatever popped? Today I'm torn as to whether I should do my P90 or not...I might do it and if my back aches skip those exercises.

DD is home sick today, I had to pick her up from school yesterday. And what is she upset about? Missing cheer tonight...first day of practice. Priorities right? :rotfl:

Sabushka 100 pounds!!!!:worship: I hope we get to share in that milestone with you!!

I think Maria mentioned about the 100 calorie cookies actually making you hungry...why is that? I did NOT eat mine yesterday because of that...I don't need help being hungry. :rotfl2: I actually didn't miss them...that much.

According to the BL book, it's the sugar from the refined foods -- you get a quick "high" from it, and when it's gone it makes you crave more, so you want to eat more of something that you shouldn't have had in the first place!

I usually have one after dinner, and then I'm so hungry -- I always end up eating more. Last night I skipped it and had sugar-free angel food cake and strawberries, and I was satisfied. I really hope I just stumbled onto a big secret for me -- if I wasn't so hungry at night, this would be so much easier!

Maria :upsidedow

Oh my gosh, Jen! Neon Green is what I have on my toes RIGHT now!!

:rotfl2: Love it!

Sorry you feel kind of funky today...hopefully once you get going you will be feeling better.

I think that is great that you got compliments yesterday and you were able to accept them - I bet it made you feel so happy to have all those positive comments! :goodvibes

There is a summer challenge. I don't remember the dates but I am sure that Lisa will post it again. I know that I need everyone's support again as well. A summer off would be horrible for me!

Ouch! I hope your back is feeling better soon. Remember to listen to your body and take it easy if it starts to hurt.

Maria - Great job on the dessert last night! :thumbsup2 Being hungry at night is no fun and you made a really smart choice. I bought the same thing when I went shopping last night and I am hungry for it right now!

Morning Everyone! Happy Tuesday!

I have to say that I woke up in sort of a funk today. I have a major headache (I think it is from my allergies) and my cough is still lingering. Plus, I am so tired. In just a moment I am going to jump out of bed though and get moving so that possibly I feel a bit better.

Today I have an early morning meeting at work, a full day of school, my WW meeting and a dinner out with friends. We decided on Applebee's so that there are good choices for us to choose from.

Today's QOTD is going to be a bit of a fluffy and happy one because we have been reflecting a lot and it is time to think Disney! :rotfl:

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?

I have WAY more then one Disney dream list! Here it is:
1. Take back to back Disney cruises.
2. Having a private Disney plaid vest tour at Disney World.
3. Buying DVC!
4. Planning a Disney wedding for my DD (she is only 14 so I have some time to save for this one!)
5. Getting a stepping stone engraved at Disney World with our family information - we would like one of the stones that is on the path between the Polynesian and the TTC.

There are so many more but it is time to get dressed for work since I have the meeting and I can't be late!

Have a great day everyone!
Jen

My Disney dream is a cruise...I want to go on the Western Caribbean one. Maybe one day...:goodvibes We are planning on going to the DVC in Hawaii once it opens, for our 25th anniversarynad dd's 18th birthday/hs graduation. Wow, just realized that's in 6 years. That makes me kind of sad...(her 18th bd that is, our time w/her at home is almost over... :( )

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?

I would love to go back and stay at the Poly. As a child we stayed there and I loved it. We do go back to visit, but haven't stayed there with the kids.

Thank you for your advice with my gym closing. After speaking with alot of the members yesterday it seems alot of us will be checking out the brand new gym down the road. One of the girls went yesterday to see if we can get enough people to join at the same time if they would be willing to work some sort of deal.

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?

I have WAY more then one Disney dream list! Here it is:

I needed something light and fluffy today because its gonna be a long one!!!

And, there are soo many Disney things that I want to do that I need a list too!

1. Take a DCL cruise to the DVC resort in Hawaii (are you listening, DCL people???)..and stay at least 2 weeks. I have a feeling this one might be a "celebrate retirement" one!!
2. Take the Keys to the Kingdom tour with my family (waiting til DD turns 16...)
3. Send DH and DS to "lunch with an Imagineer" in DHS.
4. Take any DCL European trip. Because I think it might be the only way I can get DH to Europe...
5. Take family for an extended stay at the Yacht/Beach Club. We stayed there for our honeymoon and have dreamed about going back... I think the kids would have a great time at Stormalong Bay and I would like to go while they are still young enough to enjoy it.

And here is my wish for Jen's DD and DS: That we get to see them perform on the main stage at the Magic Kingdom or on the Dream, Fantasy, Magic or Wonder!!!:banana:

Work was so crazy yesterday that I did not get out for my planned lunchtime run. Hopefully things will be a little less hectic today and I'll be able to get out. Because after work today is running-around-nuts: 4:15 pick up DD from after school running club, bring her home, feed (quickly) and take her to basketball practice, go to a wake while she is at practice, take her home early from practice so that I can go to a 7:30PM meeting for admin night at our local Guard armory (need to fit in a uniform change too...), hope that my son's high school bus returns from his track meet before 7PM so I can pick him up and he doesn't have to wait til my DH gets home from his HS track meet at 7:45 (DH coaches track at a different high school and, of course, the track meets are at the same time but not in the same place or even the same county!). Get home from meeting tonight at 10PM. make lunches for tomorrow because tomorrow is a boot camp class and they have extended the time for the class from 5 AM - 6:10, the extra 10 minutes of which plays havoc on my morning schedule...whew. Remember that pamper question?? I may need a nice glass of Cabernet!!

Yesterday went really well. I managed day 1 anew with my journal. No out of control snacking and got all my water in. Because I was a little stressed at work yesterday I had more soda than I planned (almost a full 16 oz bottle) but I figure the soda was better than running to the cafeteria for a big gooey cookie (rationalization, anyone??). Here's to today!! :goodvibes

Monday's QOTD: What can you commit to as we near the end of our BL challenge?

I can commit to not letting my weigh in days control my moods. :)

AMEN!!! :thumbsup2

mornin' everyone!

I don't know if you saw the answer, but there is a BL summer challenge planned.... I believe I saw that the start date is scheduled to be 5/28. There will be more information forthcoming soon.

Today I have an early morning meeting at work, a full day of school, my WW meeting and a dinner out with friends. We decided on Applebee's so that there are good choices for us to choose from.

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?

Jen

Applebee's WW fish dish (??tilapia??) is delicious and very filling.

QOTD: I would love to stay at the Contemporary with a MK view.... the idea of just walking out the door and over to the MK just gives me goosebumps. That is where I stayed WAAAAY back in 1974 with my parents, but I was too young to really appreciate it! The GF is beautiful, but I crave the location of the Contemporary.

Morning all! I'm back again with little time to spare. I FINALLY got some stuff in the suitcase yesterday, but need to finish ironing the last few outfits and get them packed up. Then on to packing all that silly miscellaneous stuff that I feel the need to bring... you know, the "just in case" stuff like Imodium, Pepto-Bismol, moleskin, bandaids, ponchos. I packed up all of the breakfast goodies and snack stuff yesterday. It looks like a lot, but I'm really only bringing breakfast stuff for each of us for the three mornings plus a few snack items. Plus when it is gone it will leave extra room to bring home souvenirs! I'm hoping to keep the luggage down to one big suitcase and one little suitcase, but I pulled out an extra small suitcase, just in case. I always bring along one extra pair of sneakers for each of us and they take up lots of room. I am an obsessive packer and I can pack and repack and such forever if I allow myself the time. But I'm determined to get this packing done by the end of today (except for last minute stuff like hairbrushes and make-up and meds).

I haven't hit the TM yet today, but I'm on my way. I've been driving DD to and from school to help with her books/bags in the morning, because of her shoulder injury. Hopefully I won't have to do this for long.

Another beautiful day here in NH (if you don't mind black flies!!). Hope you all are having a beautiful day....................P

Oh, my dear DISer's. I have missed you. You may all want to check your fridge's to make sure you still have food because I have ate every bite of food I have come across! I have spent the last week and a half eating every meal like its my last!

Oh well, I am back on track now. The trip to Myrtle Beach was fun. Seeing my husband was great and spending time as a family was priceless. Our hotel was right on the beach and the weather was beautiful. You can tell we are Disney people though because everytime the girls or I would say we liked something we would have to add, but Disney is better. "Oh the hotel is so nice, but Disney hotels are better!" or "that restaurant was so good, but we like the restaurants at Disney better". My husband just laughed at us and said we could go to Disney soon.

By the way, if you were ever wondering, it is possible to take a shower, wash your hair, answer the phone, settle an argument between your 6 and 8 year olds while telling them what clothes they are to wear for the day, all while holding a naked, wet, wiggling 1 year old in your arms. It's not easy, its not pretty, but it is possible! :rotfl:

I started the diet to go plan for a few weeks. Its all fresh food with no perservatives delivered to your house weekly. Its expensive, but I am only going to do it for a few weeks to get my butt in gear. Its my Mothers day gift to myself. I kept trying to come up with reasons to justify spending that much on myself and you know what? I am not justiying it! I spend money on toys and restaurants and junk for everyone else and you know what!?!? Now I am spending a ton of money on me and I am not going to feel guilty about it! :) Well, not to guilty!

Sorry about the long post, but I have missed you guys and your support. I hope you are all doing well and are having a great productive day. Tuesdays I always do well, because if I don't, I feel guilty while watching Biggest Loser! lol

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes

Many apologies that I wasn't able to answer the questions about the summer challenge yesterday and early this morning. We had 60 mph winds yesterday that took out the phone and internet service at our house -- luckily I still have internet at work! :rotfl:

The Between the BLs Summer Challenge 2010 will be a 13 week challenge from 5/28/10 through 8/27/10. LuvBaloo will be our weightkeeper and I will be hostess/organizer, including the coaching schedule. There will be some version of the COW but we don't know the details yet. We will let you know as soon as we do. I posted the planning thread and poll here http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36521531&postcount=1
The poll will be open for ten days so you can vote on the format that you would like to see. You can also make suggestions about the challenge and volunteer to coach! :flower3: We like to hear what you like and dislike about the challenges. We do listen and try to accommodate you.

Hi all! Just checking in. I am still plugging away. I think I have had a pretty good week. I have completed the second day of week 3 of the C25k. I was going to do day 3 today but was forced out for a double shift at work so that is a no go. I will try to get in sometime this week to do that. I am within 2.6 lbs of a 100 lb loss....I might get there this week but if I don't I absolutely commit to getting there by next week as that will be my 1 year anniversary on WW! I can't believe a year has gone by but I have made a lot of progress and am pleased with that so far.

SarahMay, how excited you must be that you hard work has paid off! :cool1: Keep up the good work and be sure and let us know when you hit that century mark!

This is a really big commitment. I remember how hard I worked the first 2 1/2 weeks and I know that I have been sloppy too. I think many of us have been. It is a great thing to think about finishing as strong as we started.

That is one of Jillian's big training tenets -- finish strong! :woohoo:

mornin' everyone!

Yep, summer challenge will start at the end of May. See the info above.

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?

The one Disney thing that I dream of doing one day is going to every single Disney park and having a poster of the castle from each one in my office from those trips. :cloud9: Two down -- three to go! :thumbsup2

Have a great day all!

:rotfl: It sounds like you made some great memories! Welcome back!!! Let us know how that food is...and you know what? You are right - no need to justify spending that money on yourself! You will feel better and be healthier and be around long enough to have that same Myrtle Beach scene with your 1 year old grandbaby!!:cloud9:

Mornin' folks!

I have so much to do today, I can't believe I am sitting at the computer instead of getting to my list of things to do.

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?

I would like to take a cruise that is longer than 4 days. We've actually discussed taking a 7-day next year... perhaps I will be able to cross that off my Disney Bucket List.

I want to go to Disney without kids... but my guilt always takes over when I start planning an adult trip.

I would like to be re-married (vow renewal) on a cruise. My hubby doesn't really like Disney so I don't see that happening. Maybe I will just marry someone else... on a cruise. :rotfl2:

Stopping home for a few minutes before taking DD2 to an appt. Been feeling like crap most of the day! Had a migraine while cleaning my massage room at work. My boss said I looked like I'd had the crap beat out of me. I went into one of the pedicure rooms and dozed for about 30 minutes. Headache is still there but not as bad. Really wish DH was available for this appt this afternoon but I'll survive. I hope it's gone later so I can work out tonight!

QOTD: I have several Disney dreams like the rest of us:
1) Disney cruise
2) Stay in the castle
3) Disneyland
4) Concierge level for all my trips from now on
5)Food and Wine Festival without the kids
6) Visit all the Disneys around the world especially Tokyo

Got to get a snack together for DD2 so she's not starving this afternoon.

Got to get shopping for DD1's birthday. The thing I wanted for her from AG store is out of stock until July. I did get in the Walk It Out Wii game. That will be from her little sister and they can probably do it together a lot. I can't wait to try it out as well.

Send me pixie dust that this headache goes away soon! It's draining every ounce of energy from me!

Tuesday QOTD: What is one Disney thing you dream of doing one day?
* Disney Cruise
* Adventures by Disney - especially the castles one in Europe
* Have a WDW stay longer than 10 days
* Be able to take an adults only Food & Wine trip every year ;)

That's so awesome! I can't wait to hear about you reaching 100lbs gone!!

Oh my gosh, Jen! Neon Green is what I have on my toes RIGHT now!!
I have neon orange toes at the moment!:goodvibes
:worship:Thank you for the suggestion to go shopping. After DD's checkup yesterday (she's so little, 25th percentile for height and weight, then dd2 on the 85th and 95th just blows us away after producing this tiny kid first, that is totally unlike anyone else in the family), I hit the tiny mall and Belk. Bought medium and 12's, I don't think I've had mediums in 20 years!
I'm so glad you're enjoying your new clothes!

Good morning everyone! I haven't been on in a few days I think...Friday I hurt my back working out - ouch!! Saturday I could hardly move
I hope your back is feeling much better today! I hate it when I have to cut back my workouts.

Thank you for your advice with my gym closing. After speaking with alot of the members yesterday it seems alot of us will be checking out the brand new gym down the road. One of the girls went yesterday to see if we can get enough people to join at the same time if they would be willing to work some sort of deal.

The frame calculator was great. My fingers don't even touch. I always thought I was big boned and now I know I am. For my height it said the highest for me is 151. I am only 7 pounds from that now.:banana: I used to weigh 140 - 145, but always said 150 was more maintainable for me. Who knows maybe all this will be a new beginning for me.

I hope you can get a good deal.:goodvibes I was pretty happy with the frame calculator. I always thought I had big bones!:lmao:

Jude--Hope you had a not too crazy day.

Oh, my dear DISer's. I have missed you. ! l
Welcome back Graciesmom.:goodvibes

Tracey--hope the headache is gone.

Tomorrow is back to work for me. With no caffeine. I don't usually have much, but some afternoons I get really sleepy. My echocardiogram was read and everything is normal.:) So now I need to work on the stress. I started doing the "8 minute meditations." Can't say that I am enjoying it, but I'm willing to stick it out. Supposedly if you give it 8 minutes a day for 8 weeks you can learn to meditate. I have planned out our meals for today, tomorrow and Thursday. Friday we will probably eat at the baseball game. They have grilled cheese this year and I add tomato to mine.

Hope everyone is having a great day--making good choices and getting that exercise in.:goodvibes

1. Take a DCL cruise to the DVC resort in Hawaii (are you listening, DCL people???)..and stay at least 2 weeks. I have a feeling this one might be a "celebrate retirement" one!!

We would love to do a Disney Cruise someday, ideally one to the new resort in Hawaii :goodvibes We are planning a Hawaii vacation to the new resort in 2012 in celebratioin of our 20th Anniversary. After this summer's DVC stay at the Tree House Villas I will be hoardiing points for that stay. I'd like to add in a stop at Disneyland on one leg or the other and hopefully make the trip a 3 week trip.
