QOTD for Thursday: What forum(s), other than WISH, do you frequent on the DISBoards?

I always check here first. Then I hit the PodCast board, then the PodCast Cruise board and then the dining reviews board. I read the dining reviews while I eat. I know I'm not supposed to read while I eat but I like to pretend that what I am eating is something delicious from Disney.

I was just bad and made chocolate chip cookies! Ate some dough! No M&Ms for me today! Heading down as soon as the cookies are done to do 2-3 miles on the elliptical!

Will eat light for supper! I had a Healthy Choice meal that was ok. Needed more flavor but only about 220 calories and I had only had 60 calories before that so I should be ok with having the cookie dough!
 
Yes - an investment in yourself is SO worth it! In fact I got my siggie that says something similar to that from a very wise woman. ;)

The Between the BLs Summer Challenge will start on May 28th. But remember we have four whole weeks left for this challenge -- lots of time to get ahead on those goals.

Really? 4 more weeks??? I thought it was less then that.
OK so our BL 9.5 is May 28, how long does that run? When does BL10 start? Do we know when the new season starts for the show?

I did WATP's last night after the kids went to bed. I did pretty good, better the the first time I did it. I think if I can work out a schedule I will do that in the morning and at night for the rest of the week then I'm going to start walking the green next week. I just need to con mom into watching DD while I do it.

Yep, 4 weeks. Next week plus three weeks in May for this challenge. That is plenty of time to get a head start on those summer goals before the next challenge. :goodvibes

The Between the BLs Challenge for Summer 2010 will be 5/28-8/27.

I don't know when the BL 10 show or challenge starts. It is like a state secret trying to get dates for the BL show -- that is why this challenge was extended twice, we have to kind of guess when we are in the planning process. Some times our guesses are not as good as we would like. ;) I imagine the BL 10 challenge will start 9/3 or 9/10 -- most of the time our participants don't want more than a week between challenges. The show will probably start 9/7 or 9/14.

Around the first week of May I will post the Between the BLs poll thread. This is where we post the dates, ask for coach volunteers, and take votes on whether we are doing one thread or teams. We also ask for suggestions about the challenge at that time. That is how we added our maintainer component to the BL challenge. It is also why we worry less about the BL show dates and keep the challenges going without a long break, it's what the participants asked for. We really do try our best to do what the majority of our participants tell us they want in a challenge like this and it has evolved over the years from what it was originally (which was before my time on the WISH boards). I don't start the planning poll until closer to the new challenge start because I don't like to take away from the existing challenge.

WAHHHHHH!!!!!!! I only got in .75 miles on the elliptical before my left knee started KILLING me again! Just like last year. I stopped and tried doing 30 minutes of free step. I did it but took the risers off of my step. I put some Topricin on it and am reclining on the couch the rest of the day. Drinking my water to wash down the cookies! I only had one when they came out of the oven! Some of them burned OOPS!

DD1 and I are going to turn off the tv and read our Kingdom Keepers books for awhile. I think I'll put some soft music on to listen to while we read.

I usually start my day with WISH, and I will also visit the Podcast, Universal, Budget Board, and Disney for Families. I try to cycle through all at least once a day.

When I'm planning a trip, I get into Theme Parks, Resorts, and Restaurants, or DCL if that's appropriate. I had to drop my subscription to the food porn thread in Restaurants. It was just making me eat more...:sad1:

You might want to PM those numbers to Shannon anyway because I believe that the numbers are calculated a little differently when there is a week missing. Shannon, can explain that better that I can because she is the one who makes the magic with the numbers and we all love her for it! :worship:

Here's how it works: (these numbers are completely bogus just easy math for the example)
week 1 = 100lbs
week 2 = missed
week 3 = 90lbs

% loss = (90-100) divided by 100 divided by 2 (because its for 2weeks) =5%

Similarily, if you miss sending in your weight 2 weeks in a row, then the new weight is for 3 weeks, so I divide by 3.

Gotta get back to work, will check in again tonight after I do some exercising!

I'll be there on the next Challenge! I really would love to be a maintainer next time!

Doing well today food wise though I did make cookies and had some dough and 1 cookie. I had another ham salad sandwich for supper. I also had some sherbet this afternoon. Downing my water like crazy now!

I'm so itching to make plans for our trip!!!!! I get to call a week from Saturday to switch our DVC resort! Hopefully in the next 30 days they will release the December dates so I can start planning our trip! Our flights are booked so now on to the next step. We have 2 restaurants that we want to eat at so far, Biergarten(lunch) and Ohana (dinner). We're planning on doing b'fast in the room as much as possible and biggest meals at lunch and then snack stuff for supper or something back in the room if we are taking a break. DH and I are going to have 1 special meal out! Haven't decided where yet, though!

Back to my water! Lots of good stuff to watch on tv tonight! Hope I can stay awake! Legs is feeling better though I don't want to push it.

Flipflopmom--hope the surgery goes well. This is probably too late, but if they tell you to ice, I highly recommend it. DS had 3 wisdom teeth cut out last summer and his friend had 4. We iced religiously--I changed the ice packets from side to side every half an hour--and ds had little problems, his friend, no ice, didn't do so good. Could have been a coincidence, but I like to think it was all that neurotic momma loving that helped DS!

My allergies are awful today. I think it's the trees that are in bloom in the parking lot at work. I feel a little better since I'm home. I went to the Y despite feeling cruddy because I have this stupid monitor on and got extremely dizzy. I actually had to sit down and one of the fitness room attendants stayed with me for a little while. I think it was a combination of allergies and a mini-panic attack. I swear my heart stopped for a minute and I thought I was going to black out. And I only got in a half an hour! Hopefully the stupid monitor caught it all. Can you tell I'm a little annoyed? I am angry that I have worked so hard and feel like I'm in decent shape and I'm having to deal with this. And of course when I got home and took my resting heartrate it was skipping beats or pausing or whatever it is doing. I'm angry, but mostly I'm just unnerved by the entire experience. I'm sure it is nothing, and I am just starting to panic for no reason, but this is getting old. And I'm mad at myself because I ignored it for so long instead of dealing with it. If it would have been my son or dh I would have made them go to the doctor immediately. Ok--vent over. Sorry. No comments necessary--just needed to get it out.

Have a great evening. I will try really hard to be more positive tomorrow. The good news is, it's supposed to rain so hopefully some of the pollen will get washed away!
 
I never made it over to Payless. I should have time to stop tomorrow after taking DD1s flute to get repaired. Forgot to take it earlier in the week!
I know that the store 1 town over had them last month when we were buying Easter/Communion shoes. I have a $5 coupon too! I forgot to use my 20% off coupon earlier in the week!

DD2 is feeling better. Time for some apple juice for her and then hoping the girls will go to bed. DD1 needs to rest. SHe fell on a scooter at a friends house and got scraped up pretty good. She also wants to get back to reading Kingdom Keepers 1. I want to try and read more of number 3 tonight! I'll read some during American Idol. I think I'll actually watch it live tonight as everything else we usually watch is a repeat!

and really think I will keep it up, and hope to do a half marathon next year, but I am just not in a place to really get the food under control. Sorry I haven't been around. Real life and all that.
The basement flooded after all that rain. We finally have all that taken care of but now I'm sorting the boxes we pulled up from the basement before the rain. I'm trying to unclutter my life so I refused to send them back down to the pit of despair without sorting first. I've gotten rid of 8 boxes of stuff so far!!!
Right after our school librarian got back from her mothers funeral, she took ill so I ran the book fair. Never did that before! And it was also science fair week/special persons day/budget talks.
And we've had some "grown up" issues with some of the 8th graders who will be under my care in DC so lots of closed door meetings and what not. Not a fun time, I wish kids didn't grow up so fast!! Thankfully DS13 was NOT involved but he's angry with his classmates and the school. Lots of talks with him too about being a respectful young man.
Now things are looking up again, my schedule is clearing and I'm reinvesting in myself.

Wow! You've had a busy few weeks. Sorry to hear about your basement. Have a great time in DC! I should really declutter the basement. My teaching stuff is covering the place and I only taught for 2 years!

Went to the Mexican Restaurant tonight for my "last supper". Surgery to finally get these things out tomorrow!! I splurged on chips and queso, but I will only be eating yogurt for at least the next 3 or 4 days, so I don't feel overly guilty about it! I can't have anything after 5 am tomorrow, so I am hoping to get up early for a cup of coffee! I really would love a good run in the morning, but since I can't eat or drink, I just keep telling myself it would not be wise!! I would hate to dehydrate or pass out at the park.

QOTD: well, I check the dvc boards, theme parks, dining reviews, budget sometimes, family & tips occasionally, and I am working on a PTR to help alleviate stress, so, yeah, I am addicted!

Hope your surgery went well! I will have to check out your PTR.

I'm off to get my holter monitor put on. I'm already tired, so not sure what tomorrow is going to be like. I might call in sick tomorrow--I never call in sick so I probably won't. I had queso last night. I really wanted beer and french fries. So I guess I'll cut myself some slack on the little bit of queso I had.

QOTD: I start with the WISH board, then I hop to the Scrapbooking Board. If I still have any time left, I check out the Budget Board. And occasionally, when I am really bored, I check out the Community Board. If I am working on a trip, I might spend a few minuts on the Transportation Board or the Theme Parks Board. But I ALWAYS start with the WISH!

We got caught in the McAfee virus that trashes your operating system problem at work yesterday. I hope my tech guy can get things working today because it hit my billing and electronic document computer. :scared1: I have lots of backups but it will take time if we have to reload the operating system and the programs and then restore the data. :headache: :badpc:

QOTD: Mostly I'm here. When I am planning or really missing planning a trip I will spend time on the Dland board. And since I enjoy making shirts for the trips I will also do pre-trip visits to Disigns for new ideas or images.

For those of you who spend time at the 'budget board' here - I do love spending time in another forum (homesteadingtoday.com) and on their countryside families board is one of the best frugal tips forum I've found anywhere--some of these people are a bit - um - extreme - but that particular forum has a feeling similar to this board - nice helpful comments and very little flaming... so you may want to check that out if you're into the whole frugal thing. (I mostly just lurk there - and on their alternative energy board as well--great ideas from great minds)

No problem. I was great!

I did well to stay on track yesterday and I'm determined to keep it up. I managed to gain 10 lbs over the last month and I don't have a good reason why. Lack of willpower, lack of motivation :confused3 I just don't know. What I do know is that I have a cruise in 3 months and I need to lose 20 lbs by then :eek:

NERVOUS! Mom will be here in 30 minutes, then we are off to the oral surgeon. I am stressing a bit now, I've been so frantically trying to get everything ready, I haven't had time to think about it until now!

Mom is taking me back to her house, and is supposed to wake me up every 3 hours to give me my pain meds. I hope I can blissfully sleep for the next 24 hours! I am starving right now! I probably won't be back on before Saturday, if then. Just depends on how it goes.

I am sending my weight today - Down 4 pounds again! Only 1 more pound until my 40 clippie! :cool1:

I was just reading an article from Sparkpeople about dealing with set backs. Here is an excerpt:

Move on with your life. Keep reaching for your goals and you will achieve them. One minor setback is nothing if you really want something and are willing to work for it.

This challenge has been great for me! I'm not where I want to be weight, but the support has been endless, especially when I struggled. I am much better emotionally. Thank you!

I just want to say that I loved being your coach! It was a great experience I would love to have again!

Overall, I had a good week. Nervous about the scale tomorrow, but I'm optimistic there will be at least some loss. I really got in my water!

Wishing you all good luck at the weigh in tomorrow! I plan on getting up to get my last chance workouts in! Just hoping the knee won't be acting up! It feels strange, achy but not, if that makes sense! I'll try to get some WATP in and maybe a 30 minute free step depending on how it feels in the morning.

Gonna have one more bottle of water to make up for the bad stuff I ate today! Going to have to hope that I've done enough and drank enough water to make up for the cookie dough! But it was SOOOOOO GOOOD!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Welcome to COW 14

You do not have to participate but it is there to help you build good habits. Each week we will have two to four habit suggestions for you to do. At the end of the week you report your points to me.

It has been said that if you do something for 30 days it will become a habit. We will start off easy with two habits that have been known to help weight loss. As the weeks go by we will add to these habits. We will never have more than 4 habits to work on each week since that seems to be the number that most people could do without a problem.

COW 14

Do 30 minutes of exercise every day (1 point for each day)
Floss your teeth once a day (1 point for each day.)(I know you hate this one but an article I just read says flossing helps memory)
Eat 4 veggies or fruit each day (1 point for each day)
Journal something good that has happened to you each day along with your food



When you send me your points please post your total in your RE and then in the main part of the pm list your points as follows:

XX days of exercising for 30 minutes per day
XX days flossing
XX days eating veggies or fruit
XX days journaling gratitude and food




This challlenge runs from Friday April 23, 2010 through Thursday April 29, 2010. On Friday April 30, 2010 pm me your points for the week. The COW results will be posted the same day the weekly totals are posted.
