Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Good morning, jenn! :flower3: We must have been typing at the same time. You are doing great with all that exercise, girl! :thumbsup2 On the events side of the WISH thread are some detailed instructions how to get your iPod to beep and use your own songs for training. I haven't tried it yet.

Oh, and tea pot, a little moosie told me that you recently had a birthday, so a belated :bday:party: to you!

Thanks! I like your proverb - how true! DH can do that w/the beep for c25k on his iPhone, I'll have to see if I can get that on my iPod so I can listen to different music. :goodvibes

Jen how are you feeling today?

Tigger - don't beat yourself up, the Energizer Bunny just needs her batteries recharged.

Flipflopmom - woo hoo!! That has to feel great to get that paper done! So what will you do with all your free time now? :rolleyes1

Thanks, jennz! SO true! Hoping to get back with it today but DD2 is throwing up again! UGH! Now the problem is keeping her away from the other girls. I will hate to have to end the sleepover early! Just took down their bed and washed the sheets since DD2 was down there with them last night.

OP so far today. A cup of tea Earl Grey Green Tea with Splenda and a Dark Chocolate Almond Fiber PLUS bar! Only 130 calories! I'm just hoping I don't get sick! I'm starting to feel a bit icky myself! I'm the only one who hasn't thrown up recently in this house! I probably just jinxed myself!

Man, do these boards move fast! I need to make more time to catch up!

I hope you are all doing well and are feeling strong.

I had a very bad food weekend and then on Monday my cousin posted a picture of me on Facebook from a party we went to and I almost died! I know I am big, I have always known that, but big doesn't even begin to cover it! I was so upset I called my Mom crying and freaking out. I just felt like nothing I could ever do would make a difference. Once your as big as I am there is no coming back from that. I told her its like getting hit by a train, no one comes back after being hit by a train. Then guess what was on our local news this morning. Man was hit by train and lives to tell about it! I couldn't believe it.

I am feeling a little better now and I am going to keep working towards my goal, but Monday was hard. Plus its TOM so I am even more emotional!

Today is my Baby Maddie's 1st birthday! I can't believe she is 1. I just had her like 5 minutes ago!!! How did this happen? We are going to Chuck E Cheese after school today to celebrate. My older girls are soooo excited!

After our little party tonight I have tickets to a "Girls Night Out" that a local radio station is putting on. They have passed trays of foods, fresh mozzerella pulling, wine tasting, 5 minute massages and hair consultations and lots of other fun stuff. I am going with my Mom and good friend Teresa. It should be fun and I am looking forward to some grown up time.

:bday: Happy Birthday Maddie May! Momma Loves You!! party:

Such an emotional time for you!! Both good and bad emotions at work here, plus TOM! Sorry you were feeling so bad and discouraged about your weight. Keep plugging... you KNOW you can do it... you KNOW it will work... just keep up the determination!

Happy Birthday to your baby! I remember standing over the crib and crying the day my kids turned one!!

Have fun on at the ladies night! I would so love to do something like that! Put a few calories/points aside for a small glass of wine and a treat and enjoy the time with your mom and friend.

Wash up carefully after your visit to "Chucky's Germ Factory". Someone ALWAYS comes down sick at our house after a visit to that place!! But my DS loves it!

Gotta go grab my seltzer from the fridge... another class arrives in 5 minutes!.....P

I drink lot's of water. Being in Oregon it is good right out of the tap. Sometimes I want cranberry juice or some other kind of juice for dinner though. I put lots of icecubes in the juice though. No meals are a surprise for me. As a teen anorexic- I got amazingly good at knowing the caloric value of any food and it stayed with me whether or not I chose to ignore it most of my adult life.
I'm getting ready to go to the annual steward summit.(cue Chopin's funeral March)
I'm really trying hard to play this so I don't get so drunk I throw up. And not gain poundage. It involves 3 amazing buffet meals, drink tickets and time spent in a karaoke bar. :scared1: I want to have fun-- this is a fun thing where you really blow off work steam. I'm just eating light this morning and wont' have anything to drink until I eat something for sure. I'm walking up to meet my ride because it's easier for her and I think the walk will be good before the drive. I used to be a light weight. Now since I lost 40 #'s it's ridiculous.

Had my weigh in tonight and to my surprise I lost just enough to get to 95 gone! Woo Hoo! Gym time will not be as much as usual this week thanks to my 4 year old starting t-ball twice a week but I will try to squeeze time in when I can!

Take care all!

SarahMay

CONGRATS!! That is an amazing accomplishment!!

Anne do you mean that you'll pretty much be changing your schedule permanently for the gym? I'd have to think about dropping the membership then too, if the only time I could go it was packed. But what about your spin class? You have to at least wait until you get that birthday treat in!

I started the P90 last week and have been feeling pretty good about it. DH is doing P90x and I wanted something to gain strength but that P90x scares me :scared1:. So far so good on the P90, I can feel a difference already. :thumbsup2 I'm still doing the walking and c25k as well.

I'm still don't know what to do about the gym. I'm a little OCD about my schedule so when I think about changing my day to go to the gym early, I have some anxiety. It's stupid, I know. I will do the Spin class on Monday as punishment for turning 42 that day. Maybe I should wear a tiara while I spin.

What is the difference between P90 and P90x? I have a friend who just started the P90x thing and he said he has never been so sore... and he is really fit (he obviously hasn't tried a Spin class! :lmao:... oh, I crack myself up!).

Happy Happy Birthday to your little girl!!

CONGRATS to Rose&Mike on being the Biggest Loser this week!

My kids are driving me crazy today. Just thought I would throw that out there. :)

Every year my town has a summer festival that includes a 5k and 10k that runs through my neighborhood and the Prairie Trail Bike/Walk path. I decided that after homeschool I am going to walk to the starting point of the 5k and run as much of it as I can. I live in a very hilly neighborhood so it should be interesting.

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.

I was really surprised when I found out a large banana is worth 2 WW points! I realized this after I made a smoothie with Almond Milk, blueberries and THREE large bananas... 3 bananas is 7 points! I thought I was making a low point smoothie and it turned out to be a 10 point smoothie!

Just had a ham salad sandwich with lite Miracle Whip and a big roll. Trying to stay on track and maybe if I post here it will make me do so!!!!! Going to have a half handful of M&Ms. That's it for the day! Gotta run out and get my paycheck. Thinking about running over to Payless to get their brand of Shape Ups! I have a coupon that I think is still good. That might actually get me walking again!

Let me know if you find them. I tried a Payless in MA last week and they didn't have anything of the sort. I am thinking of trying the new Reebok ones. I think someone said they had them at Sears.

I am starting with a nasty headache. I thought it was due to hunger, so I had part of my lunch a little early. It didn't help. I just had my lunch now and it is slightly better (although I didn't pack any protein for lunch... naughty girl). I will breakdown and take Advil by 2pm if it hasn't disappeared. Otherwise I will be NO GOOD for anything tonight.

DD and I are leaving right after school on Friday for NYC, so tonight needs to be the "finish the laundry, decide what is being packed and pack it" night.... and tomorrow night will be the "make the sandwiches, pack the food, load the cooler, print the mapquest directions, gas up the car, leave directions for the men" night!! All of this while watching Survivor, of course!! I am scheduled to work tomorrow and will PROBABLY be called to work Friday, since it is the last day before April vacation (and I need the extra $$ for this weekend! :rotfl:).

Fortunately DH is taking over my Robotics team coaching duties for today, so that will help a little bit.

I'm lucky that the 4th grade is away on a field trip today, so instead of having 5 classes today, I only have 4! Extra time to spend with you folks here! TTYL...................P

Isn't that ring beautiful? I've seen it on FB every now and again. I lo0ve it but I doubt I'll get it. Weighed in this morning at 1lb more than last week. Not bad at all considering I was at my parents house for a 4 day weekend. Next time I go I'm going to bring my PowerFit set with me. I had some unexpected alone time where I could have gotten workouts in if I had had them with me. Next time I'll bring them so I can take the opportunity should it arise. I prefer working out by myself just to avoid the obvious questions and comments. Nothing like working out and getting somebody coming into the room going? What are you doing:rolleyes1

Now its itme get the rest of my workout in. walked the dog already so its time to go kill myself with lower body on the ball and PowerFit Cardio. 30 minutes of fun fun fun:dance3:

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.

This could be a long list :rotfl: I think I was most surpised by spanakopita (spinach pie). I really thought it was going to be low in WW points since it has spinach. Turns out if you put it in phyllo dough and add cheese, not so much.

I am totally psyched to make the BL list this week, I've been working really hard and things have been going well -- I'm in a good place in the cycle right now. I'll have to remember this when the pounds won't budge! ::yes::

Congratulations to everyone who is still with us (and high fives to the Top Ten!) -- it's hard to stay focused when it starts to warm up and we start to loosen our outlook -- I'm so glad we are all here and we have plenty of time to make a real difference! :grouphug:

Maria :upsidedow

Well... I was a wee bit disappointed that I didn't make this week's BL list. I had an okay loss, not phenomenal, but okay. But then I noticed..... I never PM'ed my weight to Shannon!! :lmao: I'm a big dope! I talked about my weight loss here and on another thread.... I wrote it in my food journal..... I did everything EXCEPT PM Shannon! Oh well. Guess I will go down in history this week as a "missed weigh-in"!

Congrats to all of our top 10 Big Losers! .................P

Pamela -- You are always in my Top Ten! I'm sorry you missed the weigh in this time, but I know you are doing great, and you have some great times to look forward to with your kids -- Life is Good! :hippie: Your daughter is going to lose her mind meeting Michael Phelps, and the mother/son trip will be priceless! I did one with my ds last November, and he is still talking about how great it was, and how he wants to do a similar trip with his dad. I'm listening to DisRadio while I type, and the theme music from Soarin' is on now. That's what you are doing! :cheer2:

Good day! I hope that your day is full of happiness and health :)

I just had a bit of a funny 'NSV' (non-scale victory) and had to share it. I just was looking for something in my wallet and realized that I now weigh LESS than what it says my weight is on my drivers license. :cool1:

Thought I'd share cause I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who always put a lesser weight on a drivers license--not really sure how I came up with the arbitrary number on there (275)--like that was a 'good' number for me?!? :scared1: I guess I chose that one cause then I was 'only 100 lbs' overweight (though now that I am aware of the BMI thing - 275 is actually 105 over but hey...) But it's fun to now look at it and every time I do I'll think 'hmmm - I'm less than that now' :woohoo:

Have a great night!
:) Liz

Congrats on your victory!!

So funny that you mentioned your drivers license. My drivers license said I was 5 pounds less than I was when I started my weight loss journey. I'm now 35 pounds less than that. My license is up for renewal this Monday... I received a letter telling me I was a "safe driver" and can renew my license online instead of at the DMV. I thought about it for a long time (a month, maybe) and decided I would rather my license say I am 35 pounds over what I weigh now than have to spend any amount of time in a dirty DMV! So I renewed it online this morning! :lmao:

I will need to get some milk to make my yogurt smoothie tomorrow

:thumbsup2

Water for me:
I have a 20 oz water container that I try to fill up and drink at least 3-4 times a day at work. I just keep sipping while sitting at my desk (and for every one I finish I "reward" myself with a gulp of my beloved diet pepsi...it now takes me about 3 days to finish a small DP bottle!! :thumbsup2 ). At home, I usually sit and work at the kitchen island, with the fridge right behind me. That way, I just reach around to refill my water glass here...

I'm really struggling with my weight loss. The exerecise is not an issue. What I am putting in my mouth IS. I do great in the morning and all day at work - and when I get home, it all goes to heck. I know that I need to plan ahead and try to - but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I am trying to work on this during this week.

Okay, time for me to get back to work. Have a good night everyone!!:flower3:

I love the idea of rewarding yourself with a little Diet Pepsi. Sometimes, I really struggle with getting my water in, especially when I work. A little reward might help. Hmm...now you have me thinking. :goodvibes

Hope planning ahead helps! I struggle with this too. My sister and I have very different interests in food.

OK, I feel like crap tonight! I feel like I want to be sick! If this doesn't get me back on track tomorrow, nothing will! I've had too many bad things and too few GOOD things! Way too much candy and sugar!

Feel better!

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.

I love cottage cheese and it is more points than I used to think.

Really? Good to know!

I have a lump on the back of my head that has been bothering me for 3 or 4 days now. It is really sore. I did some googling tonight and I think it is a swollen lymph node. That has me more confused as I haven't been sick :confused3 I promised DH that if it was still sore tomorrow I would go have it checked out.

Hope you feel better! Glad to hear your promise to DH!

Congrats to the entire Top 10 and especially to Rose&Mike!

I had taken the weekend off from the thread and enjoyed my anniversary weekend with DH.

Happy Anniversary!

Now its time to answer the QOTD that I missed

Sat. 4/17 QOTD: What is one exercise/sport, etc. you have always wanted to try and/or wish you fit more into your schedule?
Belly Dancing! Looks fun and is supposed to be great for your core. I bought a beginners DVD years ago, but haven't actually tried it yet. Need to find some alone time and do it, as I'm sure I'll look ridiculous at first.

Another vote for belly dancing! Sounds like so much fun!

QOTD for Sun. 4/18: If you had 2 hours all to yourself, what would you do?
Right now, I would hopefully actually try the DVD, and then go for a bath without interruptions.

Sounds fun, then very relaxing!

Monday's QOTD: Here is another "what if" question. Mickey Mouse sent you $100 to spend on you only. How would you spend it?
I'd pay someone to come in, do all the laundry and clean the house from top to bottom.

Well worth it!

Tuesday's QOTD: Share how you drink lots of water during the day.
On weekdays, at work, I drink lots because I drink whenever I'm sitting in meetings feeling bored.

:goodvibes

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.
When I first tried WWonline last year, I looked up the Quizno's sandwich I like. DH & I had started going for Quizno's instead of McDonalds thinking it was a better option. Well, back then I looked up my delicious primerib peppercorn sub. I knew it wouldn't be great with the sauce and cheese. But it came out ridiculously high. I went and looked it up today, and it is 1270 calories :scared1: 73 g fat:scared1: with 5g fibre. WW puts it at 31points (well over my daily amount).
When I first looked it up last year it came in at 40, but 31points is still ridiculous!

I am speechless! That's the 2nd time it's happened on this thread. :rotfl2:

QOTD: Umm... You'll probably laugh at this one. When I lost weight before, I did a low carb diet. So I know all about carbs, but really watching the fat calories has been newer for me. I didn't realize how much fat was in the chicken nuggets I was letting my girls eat. I just realized they were okay on a low carb diet. And the big :scared1: was what I have shared earlier with our school lunches. I knew they weren't great, but unreal!!!!!

MY RESEARCH PAPER IS SUBMITTED!:cool1::cool1: Now, I just have 5 questions to write essays on to turn in for my final test, and I will be done with this class!!!!!!! Bad news, I don't even understand the question! Good thing I have 2 weeks to work on these!

Hoping to get a run in before work. It's raining pretty hard right now, hopefully it will slow up a bit, or my run will be really slow in another hour!

UPDATE: I ran in the rain. Not too bad, still around 11 min. mile pace. Did 5.2K. IT was a great way to clear my head this morning. It's Daddy's birthday, very emotional day! Off to get ready for work!

Have a great day!

Way to go finishing your paper AND running in the rain! I just read an article about school lunches.

Time to make myself some tea! Nothing bad is going in this body all day today!!!

:thumbsup2

My scoring project is done - phew! Lots of hours but I'll be happy to see that paycheck.

I started the P90 last week and have been feeling pretty good about it. DH is doing P90x and I wanted something to gain strength but that P90x scares me :scared1:. So far so good on the P90, I can feel a difference already. :thumbsup2 I'm still doing the walking and c25k as well.

Way to go getting all that exercise in! Congrats on finishing up your project!

Hope that you are feeling better soon, cclovesdis. :flower3:

Salad dressings are a big shocker when you realize the calories for the amount you need to make you salad taste like it has some dressing on it. I used to love Arby's chicken salad sandwich -- chicken, nuts, grapes, whole wheat bread -- thought it was a healthier choice until I found out it was 18 points or 830 calories of which 390 calories are from fat! :scared1:

Thanks for the good wishes! I am much better.

I agree with you completely about the salad dressings. That Arby's sandwich has me speechless too. My mother is going to start to wonder why I've been so quiet lately! :rotfl2:

Also, thanks to you and everyone else for answering the question re: C25K!

Oh, and tea pot, a little moosie told me that you recently had a birthday, so a belated :bday:party: to you!

Happy Birthday!

Wednesday QOTD: I was shocked at how many calories are in Chicken Caesar Salads. I try to only use lite Caesar dressing. I had the best salad ever at Mara last April! DH and I had it a few times and split it most of the time.

Excited to see the November Park Hours are out! Just want to see December! Glad they are out early as I want to plan out our meals before the 180 days for our Dec. 1-9 trip.

Another good thing to know-salads can be much worse than one would ever expect. Your trip is getting closer and closer!

I drink most of my water in the form of seltzer. I drink three liters a day usually. I buy 1 lt. bottles for convenience. I will drink one starting mid-morning and finish it with lunch, pick up another one for the afternoon time, and start another at dinner and finish it in the evening. I often will intersperse this with green tea and white tea, plus regular ice water and occasionally water sweetened with 4C drink mix (with Splenda). As long as I have seltzer (or at least my good home water) I don't usually have trouble drinking enough.

4C drink mix...I'm going grocery shopping!

The first thing that comes to mind is a Coffee Toffee twisted Frosty from Wendy's. I splurged on one last summer without knowing the points in advance. I figured it might be 5-6 points. When I got home I looked it up and discovered it was 13 points!!! It was tasty, but definitely not worth all that!!!

Ok, about that being speechless thing...I don't think I've been this quiet since I had laryngitis at about 7!

I borrowed the book "Eat This, Not That" from the school nurse and it is full of real EYE OPENING calorie counts from popular restaurants. I am thinking of making myself a short list to keep in my purse of things to definitely avoid! It is truly just HORRIFYING to see the calorie count and fat count of things that I am sure people eat EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

I'll also be making a trip to the library!

Well... happy Wednesday morning all! Sorry I didn't make it over here yesterday! The day got away from me. I spent some extra time cleaning out the car (which doesn't happen much around here) for my big roadtrip to NYC this weekend. I couldn't stand the thought of going in my filthy, winter-road-dirt, pretzels-between-the-seats, Legos-in-every-cup-holder car! It isn't finished yet, but the floors mats are scrubbed, the floors and seats and trunk are fully vacummed, the seatback pouches, side pockets and cup holders are emptied, and the glovebox is cleaned out. I need to spray and wipe the dash and such and clean the glass. I might like to find the time to shampoo the upholstery, but probably not this week. I love having a clean car!

I've got a class coming in 15 minutes, so I don't have much time. The trainer who has been doing my T/Th circuit training class has left the Y. I think she probably quit. She wasn't really happy about the way things were going there and she really felt like they had tied her hands and weren't letting her run classes the way she would like. Everytime she would try something new they would be another restriction on her..... so I wasn't terribly surprised. But the young guy that ran the class in her place was pretty uninspiring.... nice, but uninspiring. I have a feeling that by next week I will be the only one left in the class (if I last that long!). Not sure what I will do. The class was only scheduled to run until the end of April any how. Maybe I will write my own circuit workout and continue on my own. I have a circuit I wrote to do at home, so I could use that one. Anyhow, I'll figure it out.

I had an unfortunate run-in with some cookie dough yesterday. I used most of the remainder of my Flex points for the week. Not sure how this will impact the scale on Friday. Oh well... marching forward from this stumble.

I will be on and off the computer today between classes. I hope everyone is having a super spring week!.................P

Sorry to hear about your class! Have a great trip to NYC!

Been good all day! Had a half handful of M&Ms. Had about 3/4 a cup of some sherbet for dessert. The Turkey Salsa burger was good! I only ate one with some ketchup. I used chipotle salsa in them.

DD1 and I walked down the street to the convenience store to get Power Ball tickets for tonight! So I got some exercise in! Now we're about to make some homemade potato chips. Will only have a few. Going to try some different seasonings on top. They are being baked not fried so that should bode better calorie wise. Coated them in light olive oil.

Going to get up around 6:30 to workout in the morning. DH is going back to work so he will be getting up around 7ish. Hope to get 2 miles in on the ellipitical and later in the day do some WATP and maybe the Wii. We will all be going to soccer practice at 6 so there will be some more exercise.

Time to put the chips in the oven. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Hope DD2 feels better and that you don't get sick! Very OP day!

I am feeling a little better now and I am going to keep working towards my goal, but Monday was hard. Plus its TOM so I am even more emotional!

Glad to hear you are feeling better!

Today is my Baby Maddie's 1st birthday! I can't believe she is 1. I just had her like 5 minutes ago!!! How did this happen? We are going to Chuck E Cheese after school today to celebrate. My older girls are soooo excited!

Happy Birthday to your little one!

Momma Loves You!! party:

Have a great tme tonight!

Have a great time! I'm sure you'll do great staying OP!

still don't know what to do about the gym. I'm a little OCD about my schedule so when I think about changing my day to go to the gym early, I have some anxiety. It's stupid, I know. I will do the Spin class on Monday as punishment for turning 42 that day. Maybe I should wear a tiara while I spin.

Not stupid, I'm a schedule person myself. I feel you. Have a good time at your spin class!

Best of luck!

I didn't realize bananas had so many calories until I started WW. I was surprised myself!

Were you able to find the sneakers? I'm interested in them. TIA!

Let me know if you find them. I tried a Payless in MA last week and they didn't have anything of the sort. I am thinking of trying the new Reebok ones. I think someone said they had them at Sears.

Thanks for the info!

Hope you feel better soon!

Next time I go I'm going to bring my PowerFit set with me. I had some unexpected alone time where I could have gotten workouts in if I had had them with me. Next time I'll bring them so I can take the opportunity should it arise.

:goodvibes

This could be a long list :rotfl: I think I was most surpised by spanakopita (spinach pie). I really thought it was going to be low in WW points since it has spinach. Turns out if you put it in phyllo dough and add cheese, not so much.

Cheese-that's all I have to say. :lmao:

It happens. Not to worry. I have a feeling you're going to have another loss. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

:) Liz

Way to go! Nice NSV!

:lmao:

I feel you on the DMV. I once had to stand in line to determine if I had to stand in another line and that was after standing in line to find out which room I had to go to next.

Yeah for losing so much!

Nice day! Can't wait to hear about the chips. My neighbor made some, but she fried them. They were good, but noticeably fried. A treat nonetheless.

Have a great day tomorrow!
