Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

No, I didn't hold back one bit because I knew that I would be joining this group today. I know - that's pretty sad. However, it's a new day and I've already made some changes that I think will help me in the long run. For example, I drank a small glass of grape juice with breakfast instead of a large glass. It's a start. I'm hoping to learn what's worked well for many of you as I go along.

CONGRATS to Kimara on being last weeks Biggest Loser!

Shannon ~ thanks so much for keeping up with all our numbers. You rock!!

lol I was just chatting with my inner brat today! She was trying to find all sorts of ways of getting out of the c25k. Fortunately my *much more mature* 12 year old dd and her bff planned on going with me so my inner brat was over-ruled.

Jen, this made me giggle!

just had to add...I am cracking myself up. I'm making dd's lunch for tomorrow - APRIL FOOL'S! - and I took an empty bag of cheez-its, which she hates, and put oreos in it and glued it shut. Then I glued her sandwich bag and pretzel bags shut. I don't know why I'm getting so much amusement out of this! She'll never expect it for me, she knows I'm not fond of April's fool jokes b/c they can get pretty mean or are often at other people's expense. But for these...hee hee

:rotfl::rotfl:
So my question is, what eating plan are you doing? What is something that works for you, and how exactly are you doing?

Michael - I'm doing Weight Watchers. I love it. I think it is very easy to stick to the plan because I can eat whatever I want as long as I track my points and stick to the number of points I am allowed. I've lost almost 40 pounds since Christmas.

Have any of you seen Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, a new reality tv show about the nutrition in school lunches? For those with kids (wither in public, private, or home school) the program is a must see. Even without having kids, what he has to say about nutrition is really interesting. The first show was on a week or so ago and I Tivo'd it and finally watched it. It was great! Here's an article from the NY Times about the program and school lunches: NY Times article "A TV Show and Congress Tackle School Lunches.

I've watched and I love it. I think Jamie is amazing. My 13 year old daughter was so impressed, she is planning on talking to her school about having water as an inexpensive choice at lunch. Her school offers milk and chocolate milk for 50 cents but a bottle of water costs $1.50. Chocolate milk has more sugar than pop and my DD finds it disturbing that water is so expensive. I love that kid.

I have completely fallen off the wagon and have been left in the dust. I have no desire to do squat and now our basement is flooded so my sole purpose in life is to vacuum. I wonder how many calories are burned vacuuming up water????

Buffy ~ :hug::hug:

As for me:
I have reached Goal. WAHOO!!!!!!
After weeks (months?) of chipping away at the last few pounds just a few tenths at a time, I had a relatively big loss this week and overshot my goal by almost a pound. I know it's only a little under, but I'm already concerned about maintaining a number that may be just a little too low. Is it weird to be trying to maintain a number a pound higher than I am today? I have to get back to the day job, but I'll be back later to post some before and after pics.

Wooo Hoooo!!! Great job, Nicole!! YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!!!!

I have a major nasty cold, head and chest. Thanks to dd for sharing. I just got out of bed today and am going to fold clothes, walk around the block, make dinner and get back in bed. At least I was scheduled off work today.

 Jen! I hope you are feeling better!!!
Hi Everyone! Happy Easter! I just got back from WDW (25 hour ride...got home about 1 hour ago). It was a great trip. I am planning on doing a trip report to reflect a bit on the trip because of how odd it was - we literally decided to go, planned, packed and left within a 4 hour period on Monday. We drove from MN to WDW straight, enjoyed 4 wonderful days in the park and drove home. To top it off, I will talk about how I approached the whole trip while trying to keep from gaining weight. I will say...I LOST 2 pounds!!!! YEAH!

Well, I will probably scan through all the posts since I left but I know it will be impossible to reply to it all. I hope everyone had a great week!

More to come soon!
Jen

I can't wait to hear all about your trip!!!

All the QOTD's I missed...

QOTD Wednesday: Today's question was inspired by the Going Skiing blog, which talks about our "inner toddlers." You know the part of yourself that doesn't want to go to the gym, tantrums for candy, etc. What unhealthy things does your inner toddler want to do? How can you parent your inner toddler to choose healthy foods and exercise?

I have my inner toddler under control, I think. I really think I have conditioned my brain to believe that eating healthy is the way to go and that exercise is important. Now if I could get my real toddler (DD-3) controlled, I would be happy! She is a busy little booger!

Thursday QOTD: People who are more active just in their daily lives can burn hundreds of more calories than their sedentary counterparts. What can you do to increase your non-exercise activity

I park as far away from the gym and grocery store as I can. I also take the kids on a nightly-after-dinner-walk. It isn't far (3/4 of a mile) and it isn't fast but it is more than I used to do.

QOTD FRIDAY APRIL 2: With Easter and Passover upon us, what is your favorite holiday treat? This treat can be from any holiday not just Easter and Passover!

Hmmmm.... favorite Holiday treat?? My moms Christmas cookies. They are an old, old family recipe and they are delicious.

Saturday April 3- QOTD: Tell us about your first trip to Disney (WDW or DL or any other Disney parks). How did you find out about the trip, how did you feel at first glance of the castle or park icon, anything you want to share! If you haven't yet experienced Disney when are you hoping to go and what are you hoping to do while there.

My first Disney trip was just after it opened in 1971. I was 3.5 years old so I don't remember much. My earliest memories are of the paper tickets and eating an ice cream cone with my uncle. I also remember being afraid of the Peter Pan ride. LOL

Easter Sunday QOTD:What is the first thing that you do at each park when you arrive? (I'm really getting excited about my trip now!!!!!)

MK - take a picture in front of the castle.

HS - take a picture so it looks like the kids are wearing The Sorcerer's Hat.

Epcot - take a picture so it looks like the kids are holding up Spaceship Earth.

(we're so dorky)...

AK - never been... no plans on going.

Hello everyone!!!

I'm finally in front of my computer again! I took my laptop on my little get away but I never got the chance to use it. My DD-13 and her BFF were constantly on it.

Last Wednesday I had a "Fit Test" at the gym. Ugh. Miserable. I was a little bummed about the results but I decided to let it go. My personal trainer said I am in "average" shape for my age. AVERAGE??? Then he told me I have the "legs of a runner"... I fell in love with him at that second... then realized I am married and he is the same age as my oldest son and snapped out of it. ;)

After my fit test, I packed the kids up and picked up my DD's BFF and we went off on our mini-break. It was pretty fun. I was a little disappointed because I didn't get in the work-outs I am used to. DD promised that she and her BFF would watch the kids so I could use the hotel gym but when it came time to go, she wasn't really interested in watching the kids. So I was only able to use the gym for 25 minutes on Thursday and 30 minutes on Friday. I did swim some laps tho... but it was tricky because I had DS-5 on my back the entire time.

I was up .2 last week andIdon'tevencare. It was my TOM and I was just getting home from my break. I'm already down this week and very close to hitting 40 pounds down since Christmas.

Went shopping for an Easter dress on Saturday. I bought an XL!!! The hubby loved the dress on me but I was really freaked because the girls were trying to escape the entire day. Thank goodness I brought an extra dress with me to my moms. I called it my "eatin' dress". LOL It was a size 16. Christmas shirt was a 24.... Easter dresses were an XL and a 16.

I also tried on bras on Saturday. Last time I bought I bra it was a 44F.... I bought two on Saturday that were 38D's. I think I need DD's because... well, just because. :lmao:

Oy, I am long winded today!

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

Well, last week when my mom and I were discussing brunch, I asked her if we could have healthy choices. Boy, did we ever. I made a French toast casserole with egg whites, Healthy Life bread, fat free cream cheese, almond milk and blueberries. I made it up as I went along and it was sooooo good. My brother brought an egg casserole that he made with Egg Beaters, turkey sausage and fat free cheese. My mom made a turkey breast and some potatoes that were low fat, low calorie. I made one plate and ate it. No second plate for me! After brunch I went to the gym! I love the gym! For dinner last night I made ham, broccoli and cauliflower and some sugar-free jell-o with pears in it. Light and easy.

I'm not a big candy eater so that wasn't an issue for me. :)

Hi everyone!

I'd like to join the biggest loser team. I'm ready for the challenge. I've been watching my weight go up, up, up...and beyond. :sad2: I'd like to come back to earth and get serious and make some new friends who are on this journey as well. Hopefully, I'm on the right thread. Ha!

:welcome: escape! Please PM your starting weight to LuvBaloo if you haven't already. In the first post of this thread is a link to how our challenge works. This challenge doesn't end until 5/21 so lots of time to make some great progress. Thanks for joining our challenge! :goodvibes

Monday QOTD: Easter didn't really happen here this year. Our middle son is sick with that nasty tummy bug so we did not do a big meal and I worked last night. We will do a do over next Sunday as everyone was looking forward to a big family dinner. The kids did get the usual Easter Baskets, but I'm not at all concerned with their weight so there was no need for change.

Hope that your DS is feeling better soon. It is such a bummer to be sick on a holiday.

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

Well - I didn't a lot of changes for this weekend--but I didn't make a big easter meal like in the past (no ham and potatoes and green bean casserole and, and, and...) we just ate 'normal' meals but I had gotten some lower fat candies for a couple of very small easter buckets--in fact they are both empty this morning--but I am up 2 pounds for the weekend--so goodbye 30lb clippie--see you later...
I'm back on program today--am feeling almost over my cold so will be exercising every day this week and am tracking everything that goes in my mouth :) Should be a great week!! Hope yours is too :thumbsup2

Too bad about your clippie but with that great attitude and action plan I am sure that you will have it back in no time!

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

We went to my Mom's at the beach. For lunch on Saturday we packed Arnold's sandwich bread, turkey, 2% cheese and Baked Lays. That was a big change over getting hotdogs and fries. I also went on two long walks on the beach. For dinner I just tried to eat smaller amounts and focus mainly on the healthier things like Collard greens. My son doesnt share his candy so that wasnt a problem. The only candy in my basket was a large Reeses egg. Oh and on Easter morning after the baskets I went for a long walk in Mom's neighborhood. So all in all I feel good about things. I got in much more exercise than I would have in the past. I ate healthy when possible. And for the unhealthy meal I tried to be restrained in my portions.

Hi Susie! It's so great to see you over here! You are absolutely in the right place for getting serious, making friends, losing weight and having fun. Welcome!!!

Your Easter brunch sounds wonderful! It's so great that your family got on board with you - I think a lot of us worry about rocking the boat with relatives, but the fact is: changes like the ones you made are really good for everyone, especially when it's all so enjoyable.

Congratulations on your new clothing sizes - that' s a very dramatic change since Christmas!!!

Easter Sunday QOTD:What is the first thing that you do at each park when you arrive? (I'm really getting excited about my trip now!!!!!)

Well... I don't think we have ever had a "usual" or "first". When the kids were littler on our first two family trips to WDW, it was just kind of a "mosey on in and see what looks good" kind of attitude. Plus we always stopped to take pictures in front of the park icons. We went in January and the crowds were low and we didn't have to worry too much about being able to hit everything. We kind of had the same attitude on our 2005 DL trip... it was a first for all of us and we were there for opening every morning and just did things as we wanted. The crowds were low in the mornings, so we got the "A" list stuff done first and the rest was gravy!

For 2008 it was a bit different because the kids were older and had some thrill rides that were "can't miss". So we did the "rope drop dash" a few times to get on a few more important rides, like TOT, RNR, and EE.

Not sure how it will be for my trip with DS in a few weeks. I will just follow his lead for the most part. There are a few "can't miss" items for me that he knows are a MUST (like Soarin' and SpectroMagic), so he will be patient for my things and I will be patient for his!

Hi Everyone! Happy Easter! I just got back from WDW (25 hour ride...got home about 1 hour ago). It was a great trip. Jen

I am so jealous of a "spur of the moment" trip! I would love to be more spontaneous like that! I'll bet it was great fun! And two pounds down.... WOW! Glad to have you back.

Happy Easter Everyone! The last few days have been a challenge. I'm trying to be good today, but I love malted milk eggs and made the mistake of buying them. Luckily my son loves them too, hopefully he'll eat most of them. I started the day with 3 egg whites with cheese and just made some sauteed mushroom with a piece of roast beef. I am trying to save my points for the rest of the day. I was asked to bring the salad today, so I made it the way I wanted it so hopefully I will not eat as much of the other food. The scale has been up since Friday, but I have also noticed I am retaining alot of water, I have sock imprints on my ankles. The weight has to be from water retention, I did eat the last few days, but not enough to move the scale that much. I'm getting so frustrated with my weight I feel like it won't move anymore in the down direction. I work my tush off at the gym, I may have to start working out twice a day to shake things up a bit. I'm sorry for rambling, it's just how I feel right now. I can't make sense of things. Not only am I in this challenge but I'm also in another challenge with about six other people that I'm going on a cruise with this summer. It was all my idea to start the other challenge. I thought I could really pull it out. My cousin who is going with us but did not want to join the challenge has all ready lost 14 pounds. She's burying me. I can't let her beat me. Maybe I'm just stressing over nothing. I know physically I am in better shape then all of them. The winner gets $20 from all the participants. I would so love to have them all watch me spend their money at the Roulette table. Tomorrow is a new day. Time to shake things up and sew my mouth shut.

Just keep at it. Sometimes patience is the name of the game. If you know you are working hard and doing all the right things, the weight WILL come off eventually.... take it from me! I just had a big "woosh" week where the weight loss for MANY WEEKS all came off at once!! DON'T GIVE UP!

:butterfly!!BLESSED EASTER EVERYONE!!:butterfly

And wonderful news on my part for me is that I'm down 9 pounds and close to making it 10 lol :goodvibes

Ten pounds is terrific! You are really doing well. Easter blessings to you as well!

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

I volunteered to make the salad this year to take to DSIL's house. I tend to make mine lower calorie (no nuts, seeds, or cheeses and dressing on the side) so I can really fill up on it. Plus I brought roasted asparagus. Every other veggie/side dish is covered in butter, sugar, sauce, etc (including the carrots), so it was good to have something a bit lighter to fill up on!

I did buy the kids much less candy. They might have been a bit disappointed, but the candy they DID get was nice quality Lindt dark chocolate (their favorite). They each got one small chocolate bunny and a handful of small eggs, plus a few jelly beans (which DS doesn't even like... but it isn't Easter without jelly beans!!). They both had baskets full of other fun stuff like clothes, games, itunes cards, perfume, etc, so they weren't disappointed with that!

I wrote out my Easter eating/exercise plan on a piece of paper the day before and stuck to it pretty well (although not perfectly). I started the day with 60 minutes of exercise and a very light healthy breakfast (three scrambled egg whites with sauteed mushrooms and peppers, half a slice of whole wheat toast, morning hot beverage). I packed a light healthy snack (which I had planned for and written out) for the 2 hour car ride to DSIL's so I wouldn't arrive ravenous.

I filled up on two plates of my salad when we got there, plus 4 cocktail shrimp with cocktail sauce, and a few strawberries. I didn't have any other appetizers.

I skipped BOTH kinds of potatoes (delmonico and twice baked), the green bean casserole, and several other sides and stuck with my plan..... a small slice of ham, a small piece of swiss chicken, and veggies (carrots and asparagus). I didn't realize until after dinner that the carrots had been coated in butter and sugar (I THOUGHT they were particularly good!! :lmao:), but they were still a better choice than other things.

I did have a bit more dessert than I had on my plan. I was trying to do well and sit at the kitchen table with some of the ladies to chat, while the dessert was being served in the dining room. DSIL didn't want us to feel left out so she brought the entire plate of brownies, the entire plate of these little chocolate bird's nests, and the entire fruit platter and placed it on the kitchen table in front of us!! :headache:

I had planned on only having a piece of DSIL's cheese pie... but dessert was out for several minutes and I didn't see the cheese pie, so I figured she didn't make it. I decided to have a brownie instead and I picked a nice corner piece and enjoyed it slowly. It seemed like the minute I finished it she brought out the cheese pie!! I guess I could have said no, but I didn't. I had one delicious piece and then two small bites of DS's that he couldn't finish (of his second helping!!).

I drink 3 liters of seltzer and some water during the day to keep full. I didn't have any wine.

At the last minute on our way out DSIL sent us home with TWO Swedish coffee breads and a plate of butterhorns!! (SHe mades dozens of these for the Easter morning coffee time at church every year.) Fortunately this isn't something that really tempts me (although I tried a small butterhorn last night and determined it wasn't worth the calories to me... nothing against her baking, of course). I did break down and eat a half a small brownie about 9pm when we got home that was totally a "tired and not thinking" eating moment, but that was it.

Anyhow.... I started writing out my holiday eating plans last year and it really works for me! I don't go into the holiday meals with a "eat until you're sick because you're back on your diet tomorrow" mentality like I used to.

Ha!

Welcome aboard! We just added another week to this challenge, so there is still plenty of time to make some healthy changes with us!

Well... Happy Monday everyone! I didn't get on at all yesterday. I got a new web-enabled phone and thought I might be able to some "dis-ing" on the car ride home last night, but I am not a "fancy phone" person and was totally frustrated trying to scroll through pages on the Dis. And then the reading in the car thing got to me and I got a headache. oh well.

For those who remember me mentioning DS's food allergies and skin rashes, we had an appointment with a pediatric dermatologist this morning at CHAD (Children's Hospital at Dartmouth) at 7 am (left the house at 5am :scared1:). He is really giving me faith that someone might FINALLY be able to help DS with these rashes. He took a punch biopsy, a few scrappings, and a few swabs to start diagnosing this mess. He thinks he may have a viral infection as well as a bacterial infection, along with the eczema. He gave me THREE prescriptions. He will be calling by Wed. to give us the results of the lab work and if it is what he thinks, I will be filling the Rx that day and starting DS on the meds. I am just PRAYING that this is the start of a full recovery for DS's skin issues. They have gone on since he was TWO YEARS OLD and I am just sick of doctors telling me it is "just dry skin" and it is normal and that skin lotions and creams will help. They haven't so far and things have gotten MUCH WORSE. He is scarred for life over his entire body and the rashes started showing up on his face a few months ago. I was terrified that his face would start looking like other areas of his body so I have been working hard to keep his face clear with the prescription and OTC ointments and creams, but it was starting to seem like a losing battle. Hopefully this new doctor can turn things around.

As I mentioned in response to the QOTD, I had a fairly okay day yesterday. I ate a few things I really enjoyed, but didn't go hog wild (I forgot to mention that I ate three black jelly beans that DD gave me in the morning ;)). I wish I had eaten less desert, but I did well overall. I am SO glad I had that salad that I brought.... otherwise I would have been so hungry and probably would have given into the temptations of the appetizers (cheeses, dips, hummus).

Because I got up so early this morning, I haven't gotten in my workout yet. DD is swimming 4:30-6pm tonight, so I will hit the fitness room at the Y tonight. I'm not feeling particularly energetic, so will probably stick with the treadclimber, treadmill, and possibly the elliptical..... maybe the rowing machine if I feel a bit more energized.

Dinner tonight is "make your own" salad bar. I need to use up the leftover salad stuff from yesterday, plus I will put out chopped egg, maybe some diced cheeses, croutons, tuna, and a few other bits of leftovers from the fridge. DS won't be fond of the salad, but he'll like the egg and crouton!

Well... two hours until DS returns from school (I made him go for the rest of the day after his appointment this morning... aren't I mean??). I have accomplished exactly NOTHING today, other than the appointment this morning and talking to you all! I guess I should go make some progress on the day!.......................P

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

No real changes. I mdae pancakes for breakfast, some plain, some peanut ones, and then for me its peanut butter/banana/walnut cooked into the pancakes. I don't like syrup, just put on a little bit of butter and eat them up. And fresh pineapple as well.
Dinner was ham with pineapple, steamed carrots with a little butter and dill, salad, brown rice and a hot cross bun.
Did about normal for having candy in the house. I did have my 2 peanut butter eggs which I love.
Overall I was doing great, until I decided to eat a bag of potato chips. I'd had the bag of sweet chili chips for about 2 months, and nobody likes it but me, so I finally opened them and went crazy. No more of those coming into the house.

:welcome: escape!

pjlla - the new doctor sounds like you will finally get some results.:thumbsup2

Hope everybody is having a good Monday! I made up my lunch last night, but I'll be saving it in the fridge for tomorrow and will go meet DH and the girls for lunch at Subway today. Easter Monday is a work/school holiday for them, so its a special treat to meet for lunch, and I can work Subway into my points for the day (now I sound like a Biggest Loser episode!:rotfl:)

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

We did, and surprisingly it was my doing. It has been a long standing tradition in our house to get chocolate easter bunnies for the kids and then have a ham dinner with raisin gravy and pie... Well, I no longer eat ham, the pie is obviously out, and the raisin gravy has alot of sugar and butter. So my family had very lean ham without all the extras and I had a Smart Ones Weight Watcher meal and veggies. And it was just as good! And as for the kids, we got a bag of jelly beans and let that be that. It's the little changes, right?

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

The best laid plans of mice and men...dh apologized to me this AM because my entire Easter basket consisted of chocolate. He said it was the only thing he could think of to get me. I bit my tongue, but I wanted to say if you had looked before 9:30 Saturday night, you might have had more options... :headache: I know, I'm just grateful he did one. Anyway, I just looked through it thoroughly, and there are only a few items I consider to be real treats. The others are easily portioned. Actually, everything is except for the Russell Stover Dark Chocolate Bunny...at least he's hollow! :rotfl:

I definitely bought ds less candy, since he doesn't really eat it. I did not eat less at dinner, since this was my big eating day for the week. I did substitute anisette cookies instead of lemon meringue pie, so maybe that helped a little -- probably not since over the day I ate 10 cookies :rotfl2:

Easter Sunday QOTD:What is the first thing that you do at each park when you arrive? (I'm really getting excited about my trip now!!!!!)

We don't really have specific rituals, every trip is different for us. As of today if I were planning a trip, it would be:

MK -- Space Mountain
EP -- Soarin'
AK -- Safari

We really don't enjoy DHS, so I can't think of anything I want to do there. I guess try TSM, since we've never done that.

I did 6M on the TM today, which is great since I did nothing yesterday. I took today off from work to recover from Easter. I got alot done this morning, and then by the time I was ready to hit the TM, I knew I didn't have a run in me, so I did incline walking. I toned the incline down alot after half an hour, turns out that was asking a bit too much, too.

I'm planning to pop up early tomorrow and bang off a few miles before work, then I have yoga at lunch. Right now I'm debating between more anisette cookies and cantaloupe. Ok, I just wrote that, and even I can't justify the cookies. :rolleyes1 I'll go get my cantaloupe. I may go crazy and have pineapple, too. Still way fewer calories than the cookies...maybe one cookie? I have to stop bargaining with myself. It never ends well for my goals :scared1:

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

I did buy less candy this year. Dinner was pretty good. Prime rib, baked potatoes (not completely done so didn't have much). cauliflower and asparagus. I had a lot of veggies on my plate. I did have a slice of orange chiffon cake. we had breakfast out and I had an omelet but I didn't eat much else during the day. I also didn't get a chai tea on the drive yesterday. I didn't feel like stopping on the way home. I just wanted to get home.

Good morning all,

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

We just got the girls each a single candy bar this year instead of a basket full of stuff. My mom did get them some peeps and a few York peppermint patties and mini Reeces cups, but it was a very managable amount. I had to sleep all day, so for dinner DH made a yummy pork roast with carrots and onion and his famous mashed potatoes. I know the potatoes are bad (WW recipe builder says 5 pts for 1/2 cup), but they are one of my favorites and we don't have them very often. He didn't even make any dinner rolls, so I saved on points there and just had a piece of lite bread with Brummel and Brown spread.

Waiting for DH to get home now. I texted him earlier and asked him to bring home something to throw on the grill, so hopefully he comes through for me! DD10 likes the Green Giant cheesy broccoli rice, so I bought one of those and one package of just broccoli with cheese. I'm going to fix them both and stir them together and hope she doesn't notice!

DD13 put up papers last Wed. with each of our weights on them to do a family BL challenge, but she's not putting any effort into eating less yet. Maybe as I go down and she goes up it will get her motivated. Today she had Frosted Flakes for breakfast, a bagel and 2 cookies for lunch at school, a donut after school when we stopped at the grocery store, and another bowl of Frosted Flakes as soon as we got home! That's another thing that motivates me to fix a healthy dinner since it's the only time the kids get any real nutrition!

All the QOTD's I missed...

Thursday QOTD: People who are more active just in their daily lives can burn hundreds of more calories than their sedentary counterparts. What can you do to increase your non-exercise activity

I try to get to the gym every lunch hour, whether it's to lift or to do some cardio. I also try to get a late afternoon-15-min walk in each day...

QOTD FRIDAY APRIL 2: With Easter and Passover upon us, what is your favorite holiday treat? This treat can be from any holiday not just Easter and Passover!

Italian genette cookies!!

My first trip was in 1976 -I can still remember the "Bicentennial Mickey Parade"! Back then the only park was the MK, and there were E-tickets to ride the big rides. We spent the whole week at the MK (with one day at River Country) and weren't bored at all. Does anyone else remember "If You Had Wings"?? We stayed at the Contemporary Resort and thought it was the coolest hotel we ever saw. :

Easter Sunday QOTD:What is the first thing that you do at each park when you arrive?

MK - take a picture on Main Street, near the Roy statute and then head off to Buzz Lightyear

HS aka MGM - straight to TSM!

Epcot - Soarin'

AK - Expedition Everest...

Beautiful day in the northeast here!! But my inner toddler is having a hard time staying away from all the M&Ms that the darn Easter bunny brought!!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm ready for bed so I'm just going to post my answer to the QOTD: This was the first year ever I didn't get an Easter basket. So no candy, but there are some Peeps in the house. We had a very low-point dinner as well. Nothing fancy as it was only 3/4 of us. Perfect for me.

Have a great day tomorrow!

QOTD Tuesday: What reality show, besides BL, would you like to participate in and why?

I think DH and I would love to do Amazing Race! We love to go around Epcot and I'm looking forward to really exploring it more in December taking my time going through the shops and really experiencing it all! I think there should be an Amazing Race at Epcot! Wouldn't that be cool????!!!! Though I've only done it once, the Kim Possible Adventure reminds me a bit of Amazing Race!

I'm running out of ideas for questions and I 'm sitting here watching DWTS! That's how I came up with this question!

I'm wiped tonight! Ate well today I think. Ended up having a Luna bar for lunch as my first client thought her appt was at 11:30 not 11 and I had another client starting at 11:30! Good thing I made an egg beater omelet with ham for breakfast and my BL protein water. For dinner I had leftover chicken curry with stuffing! Way too salty, but really yummy!

Irish step class was good tonight! I worked up a sweat! Planning on getting in a 2 mile workout in the morning and maybe a 3 mile if I get up early enough! Gotta watch the desk at work until noon and then run to the dump since we didn't get there on Saturday. Getting a used sofa bed from a friend tomorrow and getting rid of our old one! DD2 has a drs appt at 4. Will be leaving a list of things for DD1 to complete while I'm gone. She's got to get going on a SS project on Glacier Nat'l Park and write thank you's from her communion. It's going to be a long week. I have to pick up poster board and clay for her project. She needs to make a collage of the animals that can be found there. She is also going to pick one animal to make a model of.

Leftover ham and lamb for supper tomorrow!

Both girls are showing signs of their allergies acting up already! DD1 has red patches under her eyes and DD2 is coughing and needing to blow her nose constantly! Having trouble getting to sleep tonight as well!

I'm tired just thinking about what else is going on this week!

Good night all!

Monday QOTD: Did you make any special changes for the Easter holiday that was healthy? Change a recipe or add something extra to make it less caloreis? Eat less? Buy less candy?

For easter lunch/dinner, I ate less than I normally do at holidays. I filled up on the first serving and didn't go for seconds. :thumbsup2 Dessert was hard though. But I did pretty well, I guess. And I donated most of my easter candy to my brother and sister. I figured I don't need the extra calories...but I still kept my reeses eggs. ;)

Oh my...I am so far behind. It has been hard to come back to reality after such a crazy trip to Disney. :upsidedow I am exhausted from the trip and then working today...so I am sure that this post will be a bit random! :rotfl:

Realization of the Day: I put on my size 14 pants this morning and realized that I just can't wear them any longer. They are huge on me. Found an old pair of size 12 in the back of my closet...even with my belt on, I can put them on and pull them off without un-doing the belt or unbuttoning the pants. Guess I need a new belt and new pants.

Challenge of the Day: Being as tired as I was AND as great as I am at giving excuses for things...I talked myself out of exercising. :sad2: I know that I should not have skipped it totally but I did not even get home until 8:00 PM tonight. I could have done something quick and easy at that point but didn't. It was not a running day for me and those seem to be the hardest for me in terms of exercise. I haven't really found something else that I enjoy doing on a regular basis and so the whole cross training for me is always a challenge. Tomorrow is a new day and I am scheduled to run so it will happen.

Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality.

To those who are interested: I did start a TR for our crazy, last minute WDW trip. I will be talking about choices I made to help me stay on track with my new healthy lifestyle. If you want to read it...check out this link:

Way to go! I am coming to the same realities, although it's about my 16s, and size L "stretchy shorts". I really don't want to buy a ton of new things, as I want this "downward spiral" to continue, but I will probably have to do something!

I am the same way with non running days. I will run, regardless. I make time. Other days, it's a struggle. In fact, I am sitting here with 5 pound weights doing arm stuff while I browse the Dis with my coffee. I hope to get in a few minutes of yoga and an ab video, but I only have 30 more minutes until I need to be in the shower. Maybe later.

QOTD: America's Next Top Model? That and Idol are the only 2 I watch. Oh yeah, Top Chef. Not quite cut out for any of them. A WDW Amazing Race sounds awesome!:thumbsup2
