Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

DH and I ended up finishing up the leftover Chinese food from lunch. At least it's out of the house and I can get back to doing better tomorrow! I will need to get some milk to make my yogurt smoothie tomorrow as I think what we have has gone bad. I am still drinking my water!

BL is on! Girls are getting ready for bed and watching it too! Maybe I'll do some crunches in awhile.

I've been relegated to a lurker this week - bringing home work every night. My little breaks have been to sneak a peek at the computer!!

Water for me:
I have a 20 oz water container that I try to fill up and drink at least 3-4 times a day at work. I just keep sipping while sitting at my desk (and for every one I finish I "reward" myself with a gulp of my beloved diet pepsi...it now takes me about 3 days to finish a small DP bottle!! :thumbsup2 ). At home, I usually sit and work at the kitchen island, with the fridge right behind me. That way, I just reach around to refill my water glass here...

I'm really struggling with my weight loss. The exerecise is not an issue. What I am putting in my mouth IS. I do great in the morning and all day at work - and when I get home, it all goes to heck. I know that I need to plan ahead and try to - but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I am trying to work on this during this week.

Okay, time for me to get back to work. Have a good night everyone!!:flower3:

OK, I feel like crap tonight! I feel like I want to be sick! If this doesn't get me back on track tomorrow, nothing will! I've had too many bad things and too few GOOD things! Way too much candy and sugar!

Only eating healthy things the rest of the week! Bought some more Earl Grey Green Tea so I will start my day off with that tomorrow. I also saw a recipe from Sparkpeople for Turkey Salsa Burgers! Time to get out the turkey to defrost!

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.

I love cottage cheese and it is more points than I used to think.

I have a lump on the back of my head that has been bothering me for 3 or 4 days now. It is really sore. I did some googling tonight and I think it is a swollen lymph node. That has me more confused as I haven't been sick :confused3 I promised DH that if it was still sore tomorrow I would go have it checked out.

I know I have been with you all from the beginning and I feel really silly asking this but what the heck is C25?

I know I have been with you all from the beginning and I feel really silly asking this but what the heck is C25?

C25K is the abbreviation for the couch to 5K running program

Had my weigh in tonight and to my surprise I lost just enough to get to 95 gone! Woo Hoo! Gym time will not be as much as usual this week thanks to my 4 year old starting t-ball twice a week but I will try to squeeze time in when I can!

Take care all!

SarahMay

Here we celebrate our progress and recognize our superstars.

Reminders:
-after 3 weeks of no reporting, you are dropped from the challenged – can re-start at any time, though :goodvibes
-if anybody knows they will miss weighing in, just PM and let me know and you’ll be marked excused :goodvibes

Throwing in a quote from earlier in the challenge. Worfiedoodles posted: I have to treat me like I would my child, and make sure I'm taken care of.

Biggest Loser 9 Spring Challenge Week 15!
total group loss =34.1 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.46 %
:cool1:
Total group weight loss so far 1200.7 pounds!
Let’s see when we will hit 1250 pounds!

Retention Rate (compared to the 135 weighins for our start weigh-in on Jan 1st)
(35+4+1)/ 135 = 30% :goodvibes (this includes the Losers and Maintainer and Excused people!)

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 15? This time I’ve done a TOP 10 LIST! That criteria will change from week to week. Hey I'm in charge here and I get paid nothin' to do this so you better take what you can get!;);):rotfl: (and if there’s something you want to know, just ask me!)

NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!

How this works: you set your goal for what to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal.
Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) – all you have to do is send me a PM.
Since the goals are an individual thing, the list is just in alphabetical order to make it easier for everybody to find their own name. If there are any questions or suggestions please let me know. This is something new for BL9 :goodvibes

We have done 15 out of 20 weeks, so the challenge is 75% complete.

I had taken the weekend off from the thread and enjoyed my anniversary weekend with DH. We ended up going to a local fancy Italian restaurant for dinner on Sunday (our actual anniversary) with our girls. DH & I had agreed we weren't buying anything for each other as the cruise last month was an early celebration. DD8 realized last week that our anniversary was coming so she made us a card, and told DD5 so she did one too. Very cute! Spend lots of time relaxing and playing games, and just having a great weekend.

Finally read through all I missed.

Congrats to our runners! Corrinak, PrincessBride & JenA! You all look great!

:grouphug: to all who are struggling! I am so grateful for everybody who shares their struggles and successes.:thumbsup2

Now its time to answer the QOTD that I missed

Sat. 4/17 QOTD: What is one exercise/sport, etc. you have always wanted to try and/or wish you fit more into your schedule?
Belly Dancing! Looks fun and is supposed to be great for your core. I bought a beginners DVD years ago, but haven't actually tried it yet. Need to find some alone time and do it, as I'm sure I'll look ridiculous at first.

QOTD for Sun. 4/18: If you had 2 hours all to yourself, what would you do?
Right now, I would hopefully actually try the DVD, and then go for a bath without interruptions.

Monday's QOTD: Here is another "what if" question. Mickey Mouse sent you $100 to spend on you only. How would you spend it?
I'd pay someone to come in, do all the laundry and clean the house from top to bottom.

Tuesday's QOTD: Share how you drink lots of water during the day.
On weekdays, at work, I drink lots because I drink whenever I'm sitting in meetings feeling bored.

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.
When I first tried WWonline last year, I looked up the Quizno's sandwich I like. DH & I had started going for Quizno's instead of McDonalds thinking it was a better option. Well, back then I looked up my delicious primerib peppercorn sub. I knew it wouldn't be great with the sauce and cheese. But it came out ridiculously high. I went and looked it up today, and it is 1270 calories :scared1: 73 g fat:scared1: with 5g fibre. WW puts it at 31points (well over my daily amount).
When I first looked it up last year it came in at 40, but 31points is still ridiculous!

CONGRATS ROSE&MIKE!!! :cheer2::cheer2:
Had my weigh in tonight and to my surprise I lost just enough to get to 95 gone!

SarahMay

:banana::cool1: So very great!

QOTD: Umm... You'll probably laugh at this one. When I lost weight before, I did a low carb diet. So I know all about carbs, but really watching the fat calories has been newer for me. I didn't realize how much fat was in the chicken nuggets I was letting my girls eat. I just realized they were okay on a low carb diet. And the big :scared1: was what I have shared earlier with our school lunches. I knew they weren't great, but unreal!!!!!

MY RESEARCH PAPER IS SUBMITTED!:cool1::cool1: Now, I just have 5 questions to write essays on to turn in for my final test, and I will be done with this class!!!!!!! Bad news, I don't even understand the question! Good thing I have 2 weeks to work on these!

Hoping to get a run in before work. It's raining pretty hard right now, hopefully it will slow up a bit, or my run will be really slow in another hour!

UPDATE: I ran in the rain. Not too bad, still around 11 min. mile pace. Did 5.2K. IT was a great way to clear my head this morning. It's Daddy's birthday, very emotional day! Off to get ready for work!
Have a great day!

My3princes--hope you're feeling better!

SarahMay--Congratulations--and have fun at tee-ball!

Shannon--sounds like a good anniversary!

Flipflopmom--glad the paper is done!

I'm back to work today. The first day back is always hard, because I never know what I'm walking into.

I'm very excited to be the Biggest Loser! Congrats to all the Losers, and to everyone for sticking in there!

Have a great day!

Congrats Rose&Mike!!!!! And all the other losers!!!

Sleepover went well. Guest is still sleeping. I think they were asleep by 11.

Time to make myself some tea! Nothing bad is going in this body all day today!!! Going to make the Turkey Salsa burgers for supper. We're going to work outside today. I'm also going to get in some elliptical later!

Catching up on DWTS! So glad "you know who" went home! Don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet! It's about time!!!!

Guess I'll make some chocolate chip muffins for the kids and DH for breakfast! I'll have a Fiber Plus bar! Good way to start the day!

thanks for the info Corinna!

I may just add the walking in. The track at the green is 1.6 miles for one lap. I need to see how that calculates into the C25K first. The list I have for week one in only 20 minutes. I can walk about 3/4 of the lap in 20 minutes so I'll probably end up with 2 laps each day.
I downloaded the podcast for C25K, I think I'll listen to that when the kids go to bed.
Note to self, * buy new headphones that will stay on while jogging.

The podcast really helps me, telling me when to walk and run. Good luck!!

Had my weigh in tonight and to my surprise I lost just enough to get to 95 gone! Woo Hoo! Gym time will not be as much as usual this week thanks to my 4 year old starting t-ball twice a week but I will try to squeeze time in when I can!

Take care all!

WOW!!! You are awesome!!:woohoo:

Asleep by 11 and still sleeping at 7? How did you do that?! :goodvibes

Rose&Mike - congrats on Biggest Loser for the week!!! :cheer2:

Anne do you mean that you'll pretty much be changing your schedule permanently for the gym? I'd have to think about dropping the membership then too, if the only time I could go it was packed. But what about your spin class? You have to at least wait until you get that birthday treat in!

My scoring project is done - phew! Lots of hours but I'll be happy to see that paycheck.

I started the P90 last week and have been feeling pretty good about it. DH is doing P90x and I wanted something to gain strength but that P90x scares me :scared1:. So far so good on the P90, I can feel a difference already. :thumbsup2 I'm still doing the walking and c25k as well.

Congratulations to all our superstars this week and a BIG congratulations our biggest loser this week, Rose&Mike. Grab that winner's clippie and wear it proudly. :goodvibes
It was exciting to see my name on that list for the first time this challenge.

I'm also impressed that we have passed 1200 pounds lost, especially since we couldn't get over 500 pounds lost in the fall challenge. :cool2: And I am very impressed to see those goal numbers getting higher for the folks doing the goals. :cheer2:

Keep up the good work we have four weeks left in our challenge after next Friday's weigh in. Are you making good choices? Are you going to hit your goal? I thought of our group when I read this email from Sparkpeople. It talks about how having support is important but the person who really has to get the job done is you.

Taking Responsibility for Your Success

The best place to find a helping hand is at the end of your own arm.
- Swedish proverb

We all need support from other people. Love, encouragement, words of advice and friendship will help you get through the important stages in your life. When people are in your corner, you feel like taking on any challenge. As important as help from others may be, though, it all has to start with you. If you're waiting for someone to solve your problems, or wondering when someone is "going to do something about that," you may be waiting a long time--unless you look to yourself first. Take responsibility for your own situation and think of what concrete steps you'll take today to help it. If you're going to need help, it's only fair that the person with the most at stake (you) is willing to make the most effort. When someone is pulling you out of a hole and has grasped your hand, you still must take the first step to climb out, or you're just going to be hanging there.

:wave2: Hello, Buffy! Nice to see you! Corinna, the voice of experience gave you some great advice. After doing the C25K for awhile, I can appreciate the need to give your body a rest between runs. I think the C25K will prepare you for any walking you need for a Disney trip.

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.

Hope that you are feeling better soon, cclovesdis. :flower3:

Salad dressings are a big shocker when you realize the calories for the amount you need to make you salad taste like it has some dressing on it. I used to love Arby's chicken salad sandwich -- chicken, nuts, grapes, whole wheat bread -- thought it was a healthier choice until I found out it was 18 points or 830 calories of which 390 calories are from fat! :scared1:

I'm really struggling with my weight loss. The exerecise is not an issue. What I am putting in my mouth IS. I do great in the morning and all day at work - and when I get home, it all goes to heck. I know that I need to plan ahead and try to - but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I am trying to work on this during this week.

Hope your busy week goes by quickly. I would eat a lot between when I got home and dinner. Now, I make sure I have some baby carrots and dip or other veggie cut up to have when I first get home with a big glass of water. Then I moved dinner for me up to as early as I can. Because once I have dinner, I will stop eating. Are you really that hungry after work or is it stress or emotional eating? Sounds like you know what is going on and are working on it! :thumbsup2

I have a lump on the back of my head that has been bothering me for 3 or 4 days now. It is really sore. I did some googling tonight and I think it is a swollen lymph node. That has me more confused as I haven't been sick :confused3 I promised DH that if it was still sore tomorrow I would go have it checked out.

, hope that you are feeling better soon, Deb. The achy, lumpy lymph node thing happened to me a couple of times. The first time was after I had been hit in the head with a racquetball. Another was a result of my psoriasis flaring up on my scalp. Both times Advil for a few days helped the swelling to go down.

I know I have been with you all from the beginning and I feel really silly asking this but what the heck is C25?

The Couch To 5K program is a great program to help you be able to run a 5K (about 3 miles) in 9 weeks. It is a lot of fun and might lead to some new adventures for you. There is a great thread on the C25K program on the WISH boards you might want to check out.

Had my weigh in tonight and to my surprise I lost just enough to get to 95 gone! Woo Hoo! Gym time will not be as much as usual this week thanks to my 4 year old starting t-ball twice a week but I will try to squeeze time in when I can!

:woohoo: SarahMay, nice clippie! I can't wait to see your 100 pound clippie soon! Have fun at t-ball. Maybe you can do some walking at the field -- I think t-ball games can be a little S-L-O-W. ;) Wasn't it about this time last year that you started with us -- maybe it was the summer challenge?

MY RESEARCH PAPER IS SUBMITTED!:cool1::cool1: Now, I just have 5 questions to write essays on to turn in for my final test, and I will be done with this class!!!!!!! Bad news, I don't even understand the question! Good thing I have 2 weeks to work on these!

, flipflopmom for your emotional day. Great job running in the rain! I hope you can take it easy on yourself today before your surgery tomorrow. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.

I know what you mean about crazy questions. I got my textbook for my nutrition class yesterday and was looking at the lessons wondering if I am going to like all the science stuff. I'm having a bit of trouble navigating the university computer system -- didn't have to fight the computer last time I was a student! :rotfl: But it is good to expand your horizons and think how happy we will feel when we are done! :yay:

Have a great day all!

I started the P90 last week and have been feeling pretty good about it. DH is doing P90x and I wanted something to gain strength but that P90x scares me :scared1:. So far so good on the P90, I can feel a difference already. :thumbsup2 I'm still doing the walking and c25k as well.

Good morning, jenn! :flower3: We must have been typing at the same time. You are doing great with all that exercise, girl! :thumbsup2 On the events side of the WISH thread are some detailed instructions how to get your iPod to beep and use your own songs for training. I haven't tried it yet.

Oh, and tea pot, a little moosie told me that you recently had a birthday, so a belated :bday:party: to you!

Wednesday QOTD: I was shocked at how many calories are in Chicken Caesar Salads. I try to only use lite Caesar dressing. I had the best salad ever at Mara last April! DH and I had it a few times and split it most of the time.

Excited to see the November Park Hours are out! Just want to see December! Glad they are out early as I want to plan out our meals before the 180 days for our Dec. 1-9 trip.

I am so happy for you and your son that this new medicine is working. :cool1: It is hard enough to be a teenager as it is without adding skin issues.

Boy, we can tell you're a Mom if you still feel like having lunch now! :lmao:

The NYC trip with your daughter sounds like a lot of fun.

I had a big hearing this morning. It involving having a big box of files that weighed over 20 pounds that I had to carry quite a ways. It was really nice to have to cart that box so far because it gave me a chance to contemplate how I had lost more than that box weighed. It was also nice because I could cart that box hither, thither and yon and it was no big deal. I didn't huff and puff and my arms didn't hurt. Sure it felt good to set the box down, just like it feels good to get rid of that weight, but what really felt good was that feeling of being so much stronger and able to do anything that needs to be done! :cool2:

Have a great day!

Thanks for your kind words. Nice job carrying that file box. It is a real eye opener when we have moments like that and realize that is what we were carrying around ON OUR BODIES not all that long ago!

I did my first spin class today and I am still alive! It was hard! I went with two of my girlfriends and when the instructor walked in the room, I heard one of my friends whisper to my other friend, "she's tough". I almost got off the bike and hid in the locker room. 15 minutes into the class I thought about quitting, 30 minutes in I thought about crying and when there was 15 minutes left, I didn't think I would ever walk again. My rump hurts from that teeny tiny seat! But I did the full hour and I am happy.

Monday's QOTD: Here is another "what if" question. Mickey Mouse sent you $100 to spend on you only. How would you spend it?

I would go to Old Navy and buy some shorts. Last May we went on a Disney cruise... before we went I bought 10 pairs of size 22/24 shorts. Now I wear a 16. I have NO shorts to wear this summer.

You are SO brave to attempt the spinning class... and obviously a glutton for punishment for agreeing to do it again!! :lmao: I have YET to work up the bravery to attempt spinning.

WAY TO GO on the tremendous drop in sizes!! Wish I still had my 16's around to send to you! I tried to do a BL clothing swap and offered up some of my stuff last summer, but didn't get any takers, so off they went to the Goodwill. Enjoy your new size!

Thanks for thinking of me everyone!

First the important news--my scale at home and the one in the doctor's office are almost the same, within a pound. So at least that part didn't depress me.:thumbsup2

She listened to my heart and said she is definitely hearing a pause. I wasn't sure if I wanted her to hear it or not. I kind of did--because otherwise I would have thought I was going crazy, and I kind of didn't because that means more tests. She took blood and they are going to set me up with a cardiologist because she wants me to wear a Holter monitor (sp?) for 24 hours. She said it is probably pvcs, and since I am otherwise healthy, it is most likely nothing to worry about. My bp was normal, and she said to stay on the multi-vitamin for the B12, and that it was fine to the take the electrolyte capsules that I'm taking on hard workout days.

So, I'm waiting to hear when I go to have the monitor put on. I have no idea how long you have to wait for that appointment. It's a little worrisome, but at least I'm finally doing something about it. And it really sounds like it's going to be nothing to worry about. I've been feeling really healthy lately, so I'm going to just assume it's my heart doing silly things, and no big deal.:goodvibes

I need to come up with a good title for the recipe thread. Any ideas?

Ok--here it is http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2447512
The Biggest Loser Healthy and Easy Dinner Thread
I know what you mean about being torn about what the doctor says. I felt the same way about DS's hearing loss when he was a toddler. I wanted the doctor to CONFIRM my suspicions so everyone would stop telling me I was NUTS.... but of course, I did NOT want my DS to have a hearing problem! Report back to us after the tests are done please~! I'll be thinking of you and say a prayer for you.

THANKS for starting the recipe thread! I will be SURE to post a few recipes as soon as I can!!!

My Ds would scream when he was little because it would burn so much. He uses a really strong alpha-hydroxy. It just went over the counter a couple years ago. For a long time it was a prescription. He's also had a lot of weird rashes, through the years, who knows why. I reread what I wrote, and I hope you didn't think my attitude was "it could be worse." Because that's not what I meant at all. When I am having too much Mom guilt, I remind myself he's very healthy, and thank goodness it's manageable. While Ds was growing up, when he would get frustrated, we would say ok--have a pity-party, be miserable for a while, yell, scream whatever--you're entitled, and then move-on. This strategy seemed to work ok. And kids can be so mean. One kid asked DS when he was four or five why his skin was dirty and looked like fish skin. Anyhow, I really hope things continue to improve.:goodvibes

No... I didn't think that there was any negative attitude at all.... I totally agree with you. DS is overall relatively healthy... he doesn't have a life-threatening illness or anything like that. It is something we will eventually find a cure/fix for.... it is just aggravating, as you know. Hard to tell a pre-teen that "it could be worse". DS wore long sleeved shirts and long sleeved pajamas a few weeks ago at school science camp... good thing it wasn't too warm. He was SO concerned about someone seeing how bad his rash really is. At least at school mostly they just see his wrists and face. I think most of the kids would treat him like a leper if they could see the full extent of his rash. I'm just beyond happy about how much better he is getting!

Tuesday's QOTD: Share how you drink lots of water during the day.

I drink most of my water in the form of seltzer. I drink three liters a day usually. I buy 1 lt. bottles for convenience. I will drink one starting mid-morning and finish it with lunch, pick up another one for the afternoon time, and start another at dinner and finish it in the evening. I often will intersperse this with green tea and white tea, plus regular ice water and occasionally water sweetened with 4C drink mix (with Splenda). As long as I have seltzer (or at least my good home water) I don't usually have trouble drinking enough.

I would love to respond to people...there are a lot of things I could give praise for, people who I would like to tell you to hang in there with the rest of us, and some where I would just say that "Hey, we are listening...sorry it is going hard for you".

However, I feel HORRIBLE  and took medicine and am struggling a bit. So, I will just post about me. :rotfl:

Today was tough. My allergies were out of control last week and it turned into a cough that makes my chest have a burning feeling (think coughing fits that don't stop). I rode my bike to work to get some exercise and it was okay because going to work is pretty much downhill. I worked all day and then biked home. That was horrible because it was pretty much all uphill. Tonight was a scheduled running night (remember, I am scheduled to run a 1/2 marathon June 6th :scared1:). DH and I started out and by the time I had done 1/2 mile, I was coughing and felt horrible. So, stubborn me...I said I could at least walk the 2.5 miles we had left. We walked to the 1/2 way point and I thought I would just lay down on the sidewalk and die. Unfortunately, I had to keep going to get back home. We did finish it but I felt like crying and decided that it was a stupid idea to even try it at this point.

I am now home and in bed. I am going to try to take some NyQuil and get a full night sleep, hopefully I will feel better in the morning.

I have been logging my food but I feel so bad that I am not coming near to my points so I ought to be fine.

BTW...I LOVE THE RING! Sorry to steal your idea Tracey...but I would buy the ring with the $100 too! It is wonderful!!!

Night Everyone!
Jen

It's okay if it is just about you for a change!! Hope you are feeling better.

Monday's QOTD: Here is another "what if" question. Mickey Mouse sent you $100 to spend on you only. How would you spend it?

Something I wouldn't do normally? I think I'd have my teeth whitened. I'm a 30-something coffee addict who has never had it done. I have a couple wonky but otherwise healthy teeth. With 3 kids, my teeth fall low on my priority list, but brightening them up would help my confidence.

(I've been MIA here the last few weeks and meaning to get back in the game. The best way is to just jump right in!)

I have had great success with the Crest Whitestrips. I used them for the first time a few years ago when they first came out and now I only have to use them a few times a year for "maintenance". I have had MANY compliments on how white my teeth are, even from my dental hygienist. They are not terribly expensive and there are coupons out there. I picked up a box of the "Classic" from the clearance rack at Target a few weeks ago (the box was dinged up) plus I had a $5 coupon. If you are afraid of tooth sensitivity, I would suggest going with the Classic, since it uses less "chemical" than the Advanced or Pro. I haven't had any trouble, but DH bought himself the Pro a few years ago and had to stop using it after one strip. I finished the box without any problem.

Good morning!

I went to the gym this morning at 9. I usually go at 1 but it works better for my DH if I go right away in the morning instead of in the middle of the afternoon. I don't think I like going at 9. All the "good" treadmills were gone and there was not one available elliptical in the whole place (it's a LifeTime Fitness and is HUGE). I'm really debating canceling my membership and just running through my neighborhood. I walk/run 5 miles in less time when doing it on the road than when I am on the treadmill.

Tuesday's QOTD: Share how you drink lots of water during the day.

While my coffee brews in the morning, I drink one bottle of water. I gulp it. Then I have two cups of coffee then I gulp another bottle of water. At lunch time I drink another bottle of water with Crystal Lite Pure Fitness added. While I am making dinner, I gulp another bottle and I have a bottle of water with my dinner. I usually have one more bottle between dinner and when I go to bed. At bed time I have a cup of tea. Oh, and I always drink a bottle of water while I am at the gym.

Now that I see it all written out, I know why I have to get up and pee twice a night. :rotfl:

I find that our gym can be REALLY busy at certain times, but near dead an hour before or after that time. Try tweaking your workout times a bit if you can... it might make a difference.

BTW, I also run MUCH FASTER outside than I can on the TM for some reason.
you look awesome Corinna!!!

Question:
Think it would be ok to start a walking routine and C25K at the same time? We leave for Disney in 2 months and it is now finally warm enough to get outside. DS13 wants to do C25K, out of shape for Cross Country in the fall. But I need to be in walking shape for WDW. Would it be too much? I don't want to hurt myself.

BTW lost 4 pounds during book fair week at school. Mostly due to not snacking and walking about 8 million miles in the school.

I don't have any comments that I can add about your question, but I wanted to say HI! I feel like I haven't seen you around here lately! Great job with the 4 pounds!

QOTD for Wednesday: Yesterday I ate something I thought was low in points. Tell us about a food/meal that you thought was healthy and really wasn't. It can be homemade, store-bought, or restaurant-made.

The first thing that comes to mind is a Coffee Toffee twisted Frosty from Wendy's. I splurged on one last summer without knowing the points in advance. I figured it might be 5-6 points. When I got home I looked it up and discovered it was 13 points!!! It was tasty, but definitely not worth all that!!!

I borrowed the book "Eat This, Not That" from the school nurse and it is full of real EYE OPENING calorie counts from popular restaurants. I am thinking of making myself a short list to keep in my purse of things to definitely avoid! It is truly just HORRIFYING to see the calorie count and fat count of things that I am sure people eat EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

Had my weigh in tonight and to my surprise I lost just enough to get to 95 gone! Woo Hoo! Gym time will not be as much as usual this week thanks to my 4 year old starting t-ball twice a week but I will try to squeeze time in when I can!

Take care all!

SarahMay

WWOO!! 95 pounds gone is absolutely amazing! I am so pleased for you! That is an entire 10 year old child!!! You are doing it.... you are making a better healthier life for yourself AND your family!! Take a minute to feel good about this accomplishment!!

Well... happy Wednesday morning all! Sorry I didn't make it over here yesterday! The day got away from me. I spent some extra time cleaning out the car (which doesn't happen much around here) for my big roadtrip to NYC this weekend. I couldn't stand the thought of going in my filthy, winter-road-dirt, pretzels-between-the-seats, Legos-in-every-cup-holder car! It isn't finished yet, but the floors mats are scrubbed, the floors and seats and trunk are fully vacummed, the seatback pouches, side pockets and cup holders are emptied, and the glovebox is cleaned out. I need to spray and wipe the dash and such and clean the glass. I might like to find the time to shampoo the upholstery, but probably not this week. I love having a clean car!

I've got a class coming in 15 minutes, so I don't have much time. The trainer who has been doing my T/Th circuit training class has left the Y. I think she probably quit. She wasn't really happy about the way things were going there and she really felt like they had tied her hands and weren't letting her run classes the way she would like. Everytime she would try something new they would be another restriction on her..... so I wasn't terribly surprised. But the young guy that ran the class in her place was pretty uninspiring.... nice, but uninspiring. I have a feeling that by next week I will be the only one left in the class (if I last that long!). Not sure what I will do. The class was only scheduled to run until the end of April any how. Maybe I will write my own circuit workout and continue on my own. I have a circuit I wrote to do at home, so I could use that one. Anyhow, I'll figure it out.

I had an unfortunate run-in with some cookie dough yesterday. I used most of the remainder of my Flex points for the week. Not sure how this will impact the scale on Friday. Oh well... marching forward from this stumble.

I will be on and off the computer today between classes. I hope everyone is having a super spring week!.................P
