Please add me to the list too!

I am 53 (not for much longer tho ;)), married for 26 years and have 2 DS (22 & 19).
I eat when I am bored- mostly when I am driving. Unfortunately with my job- that is very often during breakfast and lunch times more than half the time. :sad2: So I eat stuff you can easily eat with one hand while driving. Salads are out!
I used to be very fit and thin. Then, when I turned 40 and switched to a more sedentary (and behind the wheel) job- the pounds piled on. I have done WW and it works when I do it, but I have been up & down & up & down too many times. I always dread the amount of time and effort I need to manage meals- always my downfall. :guilty:

My goal for the BL - sounds kind of silly but I want my bmi to get down from "obese" to "overweight" on that darn wii fit!
I completely understand this goal- as it is mine as well. (Not on the Wii, but in general- but it might be fun to get a Wii....)
For now- I want to reduce my BMI to a more healthy level during this challenge. 30 or lower is a good start.

My next trip to WDW is Dec 6th- it would be so nice to be able to pull out some of my "smaller clothes" I haven't seen in a while! :cool1:

That is a wonderful feeling! I'm afraid to step on mine as I'm afraid that it went up again. I was so excited when I reached overweight! It is not silly at all!

Intoductions

My name Amy and I am 34, happily married with 2 DD (5 & 11mo). I work full time in Accounting and payroll. I live about 75 minutes SW of Disney. I have always been on the overwight side, but I would still consider myself pretty active.

My goal for BL8 is to lose 25 lbs (I need to lose 40-50 overall).

BTW, many of you mention doing the wii fit, what exactly do you do? We have one and it is fun to mess around with, so I am interested to hear what you are doing.

I like the step and free step. I will also do some yoga and strength exercises. I also highly recommend the EA Sports Active that can be done with the Wii Fit or just the Wii. I like the cardio boxing and dancing. The workouts are fun and challenging and you can set your level of workout. And also make up your own workouts. I also have Your Fitness Coach which is ok. There is going to be a BL game coming out for the Wii next month. They will be showing it on the show. It comes out on October 27th!
Getting our Wii last Christmas was my first turning point in getting in shape though I like to do other things as well.

I guess I'll jump in with an introduction, too!

I'm Maria, and I'm 41, married for 16 years to my wonderful husband, and we have one ds11. I work full-time as a grants professional for a large homeless services agency, so I'm sitting most of the time. I will be coaching later in November, I love the QOTDs!

I almost forgot -- my firstborn is actually our 16-yr. old cat, Worf. K'Plaugh! (if you understood that, you get extra Star Trek points!)

I've completed two WDW Half Marathons, and I'm training for my 3rd. Like Wendy, you wouldn't look at me and assume I'm an athlete, but somehow we get the races done!

I'm afraid to step back on the Wii Fit, too, even though I've lost weight! I know it's going to say "obese", and that will make me sad...I really like doing the yoga and balance work the best. I've been taking yoga at work for an hour a week for almost a year, and it has really improved my stretching capacity.

My goal for this BL is to lose 10 lbs. It seems like when I try for more I get discouraged and give up. I'd much rather achieve this goal and then make a new one!

Thanks again to Lisa, Shannon and Dona -- All the work you put into these Challenges is greatly appreciated!

Maria :upsidedow

Count me in! I lost 30 pounds since joining WISH biggest loser a year ago- and have unfortunately found 10 back since slacking off over the summer, so I am back at it. My 40th birthday is Dec. 1st- My goal is to lose 20 pounds before my Disney birthday trip. My original goal last year was 40 pounds before I turned 40, so the goal is still in sight despite my drawback- with hard work and dedication. I am looking forward to joining again!

Jennz- Why no more sister trips ? Well its a good thing..really
Dec 08 we found our dream farm. We still have to go to our day jobs in the city(lots of commuting) but I have finally been able to bring my horse home after 21 years of boarding. Its a big working farm with 3 cats and 2 dogs, 2 horses, 2 parrots and so...one of us has to be here.
I've never travelled to Disney solo, but I've been to Europe, Israel and Africa solo. I thought losing weight, getting in better health for the Expedition Everest Challange 2010 would be a good reason for a solo trip!

Hi everyone! I'd like to join in also:) I've been ignoring the number on the scale for FIVE YEARS and finally decided to take notice of how scary and out of hand it's gotten. I'm motivated and ready to take action and I think BL is a great way to keep myself accountable. We will be in WDW in November and I'd love to be feeling and looking healthier while I'm there (and stay in control so the numbers aren't higher when I get back).

Thanks to everyone who works so hard to make challenges like this possible!

:rotfl2: ok, so I got ont wii fit tonight to set it up for excersise in the morning since you have had some success with it.

298 days since last time I used it  (1 month after the baby was born) and only +.9 lbs difference. Just proof it is time to lose the baby weight.

Wow! It is so great to see so many new and old BL challenge folks on here. :goodvibes

I am sorry that I am bit behind on the particpant's list but I will get it updated tomorrow morning. Why does life get 10 times more hectic when school starts and you're not even the student?!? :confused3

I would like to join this group as a loser please

Welcome, baby1disney!

I want to be a Loser, too!

As you can see, I'm a new recruit.

I booked PodCastCruise 2.0 as my incentive (or carrot) to get in shape.
Now it's time to pay the piper, this is where the rubber meets the road or the fat meets the fire or something like that...

I've spend the past 8 months lurking on these boards and listening to the podcast and you people are amazing.

I need somewhere to be accountable and to get support and this is the place.

Thanks for the opportunity,
Susan

Welcome, Susan! A podcast cruise sounds fun and good incentive!

Hi-could I join please
Last year my DS took me to WDW for my 50th. I lost 27lbs for the trip, sadly I've regained it all plus. I need to start eating better, I'm pretty active. I'd like to eventually do the Expedition Everest Challange next year. It's a great reason to come to Disney solo (no more sister trips)
My goals are
1. less alcohol
2. become vegetarian
3. no fast food at work

Welcome, mullsisters!

:yay::yay:

Sign me up too :woohoo: I need to have some accountabilty. Hopefully I'll be at my goal weight before it's over. :cheer2:

Probably would be a good idea to workout while watching the show instead of sitting on the loveseat :scratchin

Welcome, corky441!

Add me!! I really need this, again!!! Thanks!!

Welcome, goldcupmom!

Welcome, BeccaGrace!

It is so fun to have so many people joining us on our journey to good health!

Oops! Forgot to answer my own QOTD!

Tell us a little about yourself and your goals for this challenge.

I am Lisa and I am one of the folks organizing this challenge, along with LuvBaloo, our weightkeeper, and donac, our COW keeper.

I am 49 and married with a 10 year old son. I am an attorney and practice in a Mom and Pop firm with my husband of 16 years. We live in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

This is my 3rd BL challenge. It's taken me some time to figure out what is going to work for me. I am on WW and I really like it. I've lost 13 pounds this year. I have a long ways to go but for this challenge I would like to lose 15 pounds.

I love the BL challenges because you get accountability and support and learn from so many folks who are in the same boat that you are. I really love the COW (challenge of the week) because it helps me to focus on the healthy habits that I need to get where I want to go.

Have a great evening!

Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Lisa and I'm a 48 yr old SAHM to 2 kids in high school. DH and I have been married almost 23 yrs and we live in WA state. I've had a weight problem all my life...always chubby as a kid, and then as I reached adulthood I would yo-yo up and down all the time. Finally lost total control when I started having kids and got heavier and heavier with each pregnancy. A couple of years ago we went on a Hawaiian cruise and we basically ate our way through the islands and when we returned home it's the most I've ever weighed (it was very depressing!).

I made a decision right then and there that I had to take control over my life and lose weight. Started out by getting rid of all the fattening food in the house, then I tried to remove as much sugar and fat from my diet as possible through better food choice. Then DH and I started walking everyday. We got up to five miles a day (rain or shine!). It took two years but I lost 50 lbs and more importantly felt better than I had in decades.

That was about a year ago and I've slowly but surely started falling into my old habits again by buying more convenience foods instead of the healthy stuff. Also, dropped down to only walking once or twice a week. I've gained back 12 pounds and know I need to get in control again before I eventually gain all 50 back.

So thanks for reading a tale that I'm sure sounds all too familiar to many of you. Let's do this together!!!

I am Julie. I am 35 single (happily and secure with that) and live in the Canadian Northern capital (read small town) of Yellowknife. I keep busy and try lots of new things. Over 2 years I had managed to lose almost 60 pound...then I decided to make a huge move to the North and life changed and as I hit almost 5 years here I have gained all of it back plus more.

Last April my father had heart surgery (he is doing amazing). It was a major revelation in some of the changes I needed to make. When I got home I joined Curves. Not my first choice in gyms but it is a five minute walk. So I get up at 5:30 and make it there for 6am. No room to start making excuses as the day is just beginning. I just want to be healthy.

The missing piece is a little support and motivation to keep trucking... I did it all on Weight Watchers the first time. We don't have one here going through the same thing. I figure if I find the right place I can get the mental portion back. I just sometimes need to know I am not the only one doing this.

Tell us a little about yourself and your goals for this challenge.
My name is Christa. I am 37, single parent to two teenages (16 &18). I work for a local brewery & wear many hats at work I do accounting, human resources, payroll, I manage our ale house and do MIS.

My goals for this challange is to lose 20 - 25 pounds.

Good evening everyone! Or - I guess it's almost Good Morning at this point - I'm up way too late tonight :) I guess I can't get enough of my Disboards :thumbsup2

My name is Lubi, I'm an almost 42 year old, mother of two boys and happily, married wife of 19 years:goodvibes. I've struggled with my weight for about 15 years - up and down and up again. I feel I currently need to loose between 30 and 40lbs. I've lost about 10 lbs. in the past year, but have really struggled to take off any more -- okay - maybe struggled is the wrong word since I've had a real hard time committing to the whole diet and exercise mindset. It seems I'm really motivated to do one or the other, but have a hard time combining the two. Go figure - they're supposed to work together :confused3 So, I'm hoping that with some accountability I can really get motivated to jump in with both feet and kick it into gear. I'm excited and hoping to take off 10% during BL this year.

Thanks to the organizers and GO Losers!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hi Everyone,
I live in Beautiful British Columbia and have 2 DS the oldest started Highschool today - boy where does the time go. My other son is 10 and started grade 5 today.

I just turned 40 and I work part time for a Credit Union. My goal is to lose about 10 lbs but I would be really happy to just go down a notch or two on my belt. With hard work, menu planning and the support of this forum I know that I can do it!

When I use it (which I haven't been too much lately), I mainly do the aerobics exercises and occasionally some balance and yoga. I haven't yet gotten to the strength ones. In the aerobics, I like the step, hula hoop and boxing. This summer I got a base for the WiiFit, which raises it about 4", which really makes the exercises tougher.
This week I decided to start getting up early and do some WiiFit in the morning. It isn't off to a good start since the balance board isn't working properly. I tried new batteries, but it still isn't reading correctly. It told me I lost 47pounds since I last weighed in on Friday. :lmao::lmao: Tomorrow I'll call the 1-800 number and hopefully figure out what's going on.

Tell us a little about yourself and your goals for this challenge.

You guys werent kidding when you said this thread moves fast LOL.

Hi Im Drea 31 (will be ageing in November lol) mom of 2 boys 11 and 7, wife to a lean mean fighting machine Marine... well not so lean, not so mean but still a Marine LOL. I need to lose weight for my mental happiness. I have hit the barrior where I am finding myself getting frustated, and unhappy being where I am. I am at my heaviest I have EVER been, and Ive been pregnant twice and not weight this much LOL. I know I CAN do, as I HAVE done it.. but then got lazy and yo-yo'ed by up to where I am.

oh what else, I work full time as assisting with work comp issues. From Cali and and love food LOL.

Ok well since it seems people are doing intro's I will do mine as well :)

My name is Christine, I am 23, I work as a medical assistant. I did nutrisystem but stopped due to my mom's health and then I stopped doing it I was successful however I can not afford to go back on it right now due to trips and other financial needs.

I do have a wii fit so I might possibly do that and go into the gym as well :) My main problem is when I get mad or bored I ate which is not a good thing :( haha. I am hoping to lose roughly 80lbs total.

My other main issue is when I do get successful and tell people about it they are like ok and that gets me depressed and then I go back to my old habits. I am hoping to get out of this challage some friends I can count on for a long time :) and as well as learning how to become a better and healthier person than I am currently. :)

Hi everybody, popping in to answer the QOTD!

My name is Lessa and I am a 26 year old full-time student. On top of school I also work a part-time sometimes full-time job as an emergency dispatcher for a local university (my alma mater).

I was really athletic growing up but then I went away to university and became really sedentary the pounds just piled on before I knew it. I am tired of feeling self-conscious about my weight all the time, I want to feel comfortable in my body again.

Also I want to be able to keep up with my friends in family. Just last week I was visiting my Dad out in British Columbia with my brothers and we spent almost the whole week hiking. Well I was always so far behind them and I felt bad because they were always having to stop and wait for me to catch up.

So what am I going to do to get into shape and lose the weight?

Well I plan on walking to and from school as long as the weather permits (an hour walk each way). I'm going to try and get to the campus gym when I have breaks on campus as well as avoid the unhealthy food in the food court and instead bring my lunch with me to campus. That should also help me save money as well. ;)

We have a treadmill at home so once the weather gets too cold/snowy/icy to walk outside I will make sure that I get the time in on the treadmill.

We also have a Wii Fit, I love doing the Yoga on it and I also have the goal of getting my Mii out of the obese category and into the overweight category. ;)

So doing all that plus watching what I eat I hope to lose at least 20 pounds by the end of this challenge.

I am really watching my money right now so I told myself I can't afford to by new clothes so I can't gain any more weight. I have lots of clothes from when I was smaller so losing weight is more cost effective. ;)
