Gained this week. It was a really difficult one. Ate everything in sight and once I got back on the wagon found out my dh had racked up 11,400 in debt that I knew nothing about.

Can you say stress?
Sarah
Money (and the lack of it) is the cause of so many woes and so much stress. I hope you can work the situation out and talk through it with DH without eating into it. Remember, if you eat into it, the debt will still be there after the good taste of the food is gone... and then you will have even more to worry about... the debt AND your weight! Staying "on the wagon" will help your stress level and help you deal with this situation even better.
Hope everyone had a good weigh in. I had a loss of 2.4 pounds. I thought I was on track to lose a small amount this week, but was happily surprised to see that result on the scale this morning. I've got to give some credit to the COW - I actually did exercise all 7 days and ate all my fruits and veggies 6 days.
WTG on the 2.4 pounds!! Wahoo!!

Lost .8 this week. Worked my butt off but c'est la vie! A loss is better than a gain. One thing that messes me up each week is the weekends as I always gained back more than I lost the previous week though I don't over do it with eating. I don't exercise as much but still do some. I only allow myself one drink with alcohol a week and I usually have that on Friday or Saturday. This week is PMS time so that's probably why I didn't lose as much as I have been each week though I did end up with a loss.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
PMS can really make the scale do funny things! And remember, .8 is ALMOST a full pound... go pick up a pound of butter and remember you lost most of that this week.... it is no longer stuck to your (insert least favorite body part here)! And don't forget... if you are working out more, you are building MUSCLE!!
A big thank you to 50sjayne for being the coach this past week!
I will be your coach for the next week. I've never done this before, so bear with me!
Congratulations to all the losers and maintainers this week! For those who gained, just get right back on program and dedicate this week to turning things around!
I haven't weighed in yet, but since I've been sick and mostly eating for comfort instead of journaling, I don't expect it to be pretty!
QOTD Friday:
What type of weight loss program are you following, and how is that particular program helping you reach your goals?
I'm doing Weight Watchers. I started in May (for the 4th time).

I chose WW because I've had success losing weight on the program in the past. I did regain, but that was my fault for quitting the program. I know if I stay on it for life, I will continue to lose until I reach my goal and will be able to maintain after that. I like the personal support that comes with the meetings, and I like the flexibility to be able to eat whatever I want as long as I count the points for it and stay within my points allowance each day. When I've done programs that restrict certain foods, they're usually some of my favorite foods and I just can't stick with it.
Thanks for coaching this week! I look forward to your QOTD! And HOWDY-HEY to a fellow WW follower!
QOTD Friday:
What type of weight loss program are you following, and how is that particular program helping you reach your goals?
Another WW person checking in. I am not a fan of the meetings, actually. I do use the online tools to track my food and activity. I am also a fan of the Eat-Clean diet and incorporate a lot of the ideas into my life, though I do feel a need to track my food intake. Otherwise, I end up eating either too much or too little before long.
I am really enjoying the new WW online community - there are blogs and challenges and home pages. In my opinion, it is taking WW to a whole new level. Here's a link to my
blog on there - there are so many different blogs, it is always easy to find something inspiring to read. You don't have to be a member to read, but you do to comment, I believe.
I consider BL to be an active part of my weight loss program as well. The weigh in is vital to me, and the QOTD keep my head in the game.
Hello to ANOTHER fellow WWer here! I have been meaning to go check out the online community, but I don't have a lot of screen time lately and the time I DO have has been spent here on the DIS. But I'll try to get over to check it out later. Thanks for the link.
The scale showed a HUGE gain for me this week. I knew I would see a gain so I deserve it, I guess.
Been a really bad week. Been down in the dumps. And kids are being difficult, not helping etc. Really hoping to snap out of it soon!!
You need a big

right now, I'm guessing. Sorry you had a crummy week. Maybe the PMS fairy is visiting?? Anyhow, I hope you can work yourself out of it. And remember.... you don't DESERVE the gain... it happened and you will MOVE ON. What you DESERVE is a strong, healthy, slim body! And you know what needs to be done to make that happen, right?? Lay down the law with your kids, make yourself a PLAN for this week (eating/meal plan, exercise plan, etc) and get started on a GREAT week!
I'm started WW-online in the spring, and I was having success, but since summer started I've just been moving up & down in the same 5 range. It worked better for me, when I was tracking my food as I was eating it, rather than entering in the food every couple days.
I got up and weighed in this morning and was up 0.2lbs. So now, I've gained for 3 weeks in a row (for a total of 2.4pounds which isn't much, but the trend is bad). Part of the problem is that I've been eating all my points all the time including the activity points. I have been giving into my cravings in small ways, and I need to get myself re-motivated. I decided to be really bad at lunch and I went to McDonalds and had what I would always get last year, and it tasted good as I was eating it, but left me feeling sluggish, and now I'm going to start fresh. No more McD or A&W for at least 2 weeks, not even the McD thai salad that I like.
Sorry you have had a few bad weeks on the scale. But it sounds like you know where the problem lies and are ready to get moving in the right direction. I will say, I think you really need to WRITE IT BEFORE YOU BITE IT! There is no way my memory is good enough to ACCURATELY journal my food a few days later. I try to write it as I am preparing it... BEFORE I eat it. Try to get back to some "real time" accurate food journaling and I think it will really help. And don't forget, as a WW, you know that you CAN fit in the McD salad it you really want it... just remember to accurately count the points and journal the meal!
I am doing WW. I like it but haven't been as faithful and journaling as I should have been. Which is why I am a maintainer this week.
And another hello to a fellow WW member. Sit your journal and a fancy pen out on the kitchen counter, where you CAN'T miss it. That might help you keep up with the journaling.
Saturday QOTD: What's the #1 item on your holiday wish list?
I want one of those toothpaste dispensers. Lol. Those $20 as seen on tv ones. And I saw something cool on a show the other day, they have oil spray cans. I had no idea. You put your olive oil in this thingy and it sprays it out. You'd use it like the little spray cans of Pam.
Pampered Chef sells an oil sprayer (at least they have in the past). I did own one for a while... not sure what happened to it. It worked reasonably well. You had to pump the top to put air pressure inside and then it would just spray your oil. You might want to look into it.
I also rejoined WW this morning!

Hopfully going to the meetings will make me stick to what I need to do.
Good job with getting back to WW! Remember, if you need to "talk" between meetings, that is what we are all about here!
Just had a NSV!!!
I haven't gone running outside for a good week or so (sort of doing Cto5K), and today is gorgeous (snow melted!), so I thought I'd head out... I went to put on my iPod arm band, and it is the first time I was actually able to wear it on my upper arm where it is supposed to be! I was so excited when I slid it on and it just kept on going! Woohoo!
Nice job!
Sat QOTD: What is the # 1 item on your holiday wish list?
Um, I don't have one yet... I usually start to think about me after I've taken care of everyone else. Since DH rarely shops before Christmas Eve, I have plenty of time. If I had to list something today, I'd say a new gold watch. Mine is kind of old-fashioned, and I'd like something more modern.
I'm hoping to need a new winter coat because my old one will just hang on me, but I think that might be another holiday down the road from 2009...
Maria
I went shopping at the LL Bean outlet recently and tried on a pretty winter coat, but I was too cheap to spend the $80 outlet price. But my winter coat was pretty much SWIMMING on me last winter... but I'm SO cheap I am going to try to get one more season out it. I guess I will be layering a fleece under it or something so it doesn't feel too big.. at least I'll be warm! And it is far better to need a winter coat for this reason than the last reason I needed a winter coat.... I broke the zipper because when I zipped the coat and sat, I was TOO WIDE for the coat and it strained the zipper and it eventually split.
Well... after all those quotes, I will say GOOD MORNING to EVERYONE! I had my big splurge meal last night and I am feeling some guilt, but I will get in some extra exercise today and not let it get to me. I'm trying to transition into a splurge MEAL instead of a splurge DAY. For a while I would kind of splurge a full day (either Friday or Saturday)... but it was too much and I usually felt crummy the next day (sick belly and guilt) and I realized that it was harder to get back on track. So now I have been concentrating on just a splurge MEAL (either Friday night or Saturday night). Hopefully that will create less guilt (and less sick belly). Honestly though, I have found that if I DON'T have a splurge meal during the week, I don't lose as well. I know it probably sounds strange, but after doing some back tracking through my food journals, it seems like I need at least one big meal during the week to keep my weight and metabolism moving (in the right direction). Maybe because that is the only time I use my Flex points and I NEVER count activity points. Plus I think it helps keep my metabolism "guessing".
Anyhow, it is a lousy grey day here today.... not a bit of sun to be seen. It doesn't motivate me AT ALL to get moving... which is why I am still sitting here with a cup of tea at 10am! I am committing right here to do the 4 mi WATP DVD before lunch. So I had better get moving! After that it will be the usual laundry, dishes, and maybe some time at the scrapbook table!!
Have a great day!.......................P
