This is the first I've been on in a couple of days.

Congrats to the "losers". Good Job! :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

I actually lost 3 lbs this week and was rather pleased.

I hit the gym pretty regularly. I guess it showed. :yay:

Keep up the good work everyone.

I'm off to take the stress quiz. :scared: (I've got way to much of that stuff)

I just took the stress quiz and I am at 63!:scared1: I think changing jobs has certainly increased my stress level.:headache:

things that I do to alleviate my stress is of course come to the DIS! Then I also exercise, taekwondo certainly takes my mind off of things, the concentration is great. I also take walks, and read. And play tetris online - LOL!

Unhealthy ways is eating of course, so that is one way I need to alter my stress behaviors. I need to stop and think before I eat. And maybe go for that walk instead.

HI

I took the stress quiz and came out not too bad. 45 pints, which says that I have some balance to be able to handle stress in my life.

I do admit that I find exercise time as me-time and it helps alleviate a lot of my stress and handle a lot of things diffferently. I feel that I also have much better concentration.

I will take a peek at the other challenges for this week.

Raenstorm - I did not do last week's challenge.

No loss this week. Chin up, next week will be better.

Congrats everyone!

Well, last night I fell off the wagon, and then it backed up and ran me over a few more times for good measure. :rotfl2: I got caught up in a celebration, had WAY too much BAD stuff to eat, and when I calculated it on sparkpeople this morning, I'm ashamed to say my dinner/dessert last night was just over 3900 calories.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: No, that's not a typo. Considering I'm currently on 1750/day, I'd say I went a little over. :lmao: So, I climbed back on the horse today and hit the treadmill hard. It actually felt good to be exercising knowing that I goofed yesterday (a very strange statement for me to make) ;) I'm not going to beat myself up. You have to live. You just have to bounce back when you fall. I dont expect to make the list next week :rolleyes1 , but at least I'm back on track. :thumbsup2

Good luck this week everyone!

:cheer2: Did well this week, down 1.5. I think it is getting a little easier to avoid snacks that I don't need, and choosing ones that are healthy.

Did the stress test and actually did better than I thought I might. I scored 45 wich means I am well balanced.

Congrats to all of those that lost this week, hang in there to those that didn't.

WOOOHOOOO, I'm in the top 10! Congrats to all the other losers, and hugs to maintainers and gainers. It will be your turn next!:thumbsup2

Congrats everyone!

Well, last night I fell off the wagon, and then it backed up and ran me over a few more times for good measure. :rotfl2:

I think that is one of the funniest things I have read this week!:lmao: Glad to see you are back on track!:thumbsup2

Congratulations to the top 15! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I got some good exercise in this weekend doing Lots of yard work today and yesterday. I am slowly working my way back onto the good eating track. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm working on my plan. To start with I have planned out our dinners for this week and made sure that we have the appropriate ingredients. That usually helps me a lot.

I took the stress quiz and I'm at 40 which is well balanced. I feel well balanced for the most part these days. :thumbsup2

I will have to think about the rest of the challenge questions. I have been only partly doing these challenges and not recording my score. I enjoy those quizzes each week though they are interesting.

Have a great afternoon everyone!!

For my week 2 challenge:

1. Took the test and only got 3 right.
2. New foods: Grain........Couscous
Dairy....did not find anything I had not tried
Fruit....Kiwano melon...bleah..gross don't ever try it!!
meat...buffalo steaks....yum
3. New spice...I tried a new seasoning rub on the buffalo steaks that was very good...I also bought some Mrs. Dash seasoning, cause I'm trying to cut back on salt.
4. I always drink 8 glasses of water a day
5. This one is easy, since DH works 2nd shift so I never cook supper. I always keep low fat flour tortillas and love to make rollups with grilled chicken and lots of veggies and a splash of FF Ranch dressing. Also, a great rollip filler is the SmartOnes Santa Fe Chicken...the entree is 2 pts. and I use it as a filler for my rollups and add lots of veggies!

PS....As far as my stress relievers....exercise works great, plus I love to do crossword puzzles, and bought a new crossword book today. BUt I do have a very bad habit, if I"m really stressed.. to resort to a nice glass of red wine. This winter...if I had to drive home in really bad snowy weather, ( I am not a good snow or ice driver) I would be so stressed out, but releaved when I finally got home...so I would always grab a glass of wine to calm down.

Congratulations to the top 15,

I want to take a minute and make a special callout to Abbybeth

Way to go dear daughter! Keep up the good work!:grouphug:

Good Monday Morning. It is a gorgeous day here in jersey. The sun is out and it promises to be nice for the next couple of days.

Congrats to all the winners from last week.

Don't forget to send your challenge points in. And that there is another challenge going on this week.

This is going to be a crazy week for me. Ds1 graduates from college on Sat.   Ds 2 is having his last band/choir concert as a high schooler. MY AP classes and ds2 are taking their calc test this Wed:scared1: :scared1: And then it is Teacher Appreciation week so there will be food all over the place.

Good luck for a losing week everyone.

Good morning all! I've been MIA for a good week probably, but am back and working on going strong this week. I posted another maintain last week, but considering I didn't eat all that well and exercise was down, I'll take it. This week proves to be more normal and so far so good! Yard work today will get some exercise in plus we've got a day scheduled for the zoo which always equals lots of walking. Gotta take DH to the hospital for a test today so maybe DD and I will walk to path by the lake while we wait.

Some great numbers being posted here! Keep up the great work everyone.

According to the stress test I am balanced at 45. The main good way I combat stress is reading. Nothing like 20 minutes with a book to calm me down. I also like to sit on the porch swing (usually reading as well ;) ), take a walk and bake. Thankfully, I've curtailled a lot of my eating of that baking. DH eats the majority of it. Once I've had a little bit of the batter, I'm generally good with just one or two servings across the week. The bad way that I need to work most on would be eating. I don't do it nearly as badly as I used to (can anyone say whole pint of Ben and Jerry's when I was in law school?). Now it leans more towards small snacks here and there. Also, not taking the time to fix good meals along the way. Last week I paid for it with a return of the stomach pains that follow poor eating. It was an unpleasant couple of days and reminded me of one of the reasons why I improved my eating habits to begin with.

well, re-reading the challenge and it says to discuss how you deal with stress. The negative, already posted, was hitting the sweets.
I didn't discuss the positive ways but what I like to do is go walking, alone. About two years ago, I was having severe anxiety issues and started walking two hours a day, one in the am, and one in the pm. It really helped a lot.
However, now that I am at the highest wt I have ever been in my life, I am finding I can't manage it anymore, my feet, (very flat) and right knee, (old injury), can't take it.
What I do now is just go for a drive. The weather is so beautiful these days, I find it relaxing, and try not to think about the price of gas!
I did take a hour this morning to walk with friends, but I think I will pay for it tomorrow. They go every day when the weather is nice and the kids are in school, but I just can't go with them that often.

aww thanks mom!

hopefully I can lose another 2 this week and get back to the weight I started BL with :rolleyes1

and to make this thread challenge-related .... I don't really "deal" with stress, which I know isn't healthy. I kind of just internalize everything or push it away. Running used to help, but I didn't have time for it in grad school and didn't push myself to get back in to it once I graduated and started working. 3 years later, I'm finally trying and it's more frustrating to me than it is stress relieving because I'm no longer good at it :headache:

Hi!

I took the stress test and scored 38. So, I'm supposedly balanced. I'm not generally a stressy person. I tend to be pretty Zen & relaxed. However, the last few years have been pretty brutal; with a lot of losses, a law suit gone bad that resulted in serious financial issues etc... So, I have been feeling a lot of anxiety lately.

My negative reactions to stress are indulging my sweet tooth and withdrawing. I become kind of paralyzed by stress and don't want to go out or talk to anyone.

What I'm working on to change how I deal with stress: Reaching out more by calling friends and making plans that force me to "get out there", counting calories so that indulging has a "price", getting more exercise, keep moving forward on getting our house in shape, and get back to meditating routinely. Letting that go was huge mistake!! :)
