I need help on part of this weeks challenge. Part #2...tasting new food....DH and I went to the store yesterday to explore new foods. I had a very hard time on the protien/meat...since I have eaten everything from woodchuck to oysters...so we decided on buffalo. DH is putting it on the grill tonight. For grains...I decided to try couscous..something I have been wanting to sample for a long time. For fruit....I decided to go exotic....and bought a strange melon-type fruit from New Zealand called a Kiwano ( haven't tried it yet, will let ya know). But I am really stumped on the dairy....I love cheese and all dairy products, so there are very few that I haven't tried. Anyone have any suggestions????:confused3

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congrats to all the biggest losers!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey All!! Guess what I did today!! My first 1/2 Marathon!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Boy, are my legs sore!! AND I met another Diser in the Marathon! WOOOHOO!

That is fantastic! WAY TO GO!!!
So sorry to hear about the dentist !! Oh well at least that is over with and you got it taken care of right away, they were willing to work with you. Be extremely grateful for that. Your plans for rest, etc, so just perfect.

Sending prayers and thoughts your way as yon venture into the M-F work-a-day world. I am sure you will do just fine. I venture to say that it will make you more organized ~~ as you need to plan ahead and make your home plan work with your new work schedule.

Thanks! I am very grateful they came in! I couldn't thank them enough when I was there. And I think you are right, I will be organizing a bunch and organizing my time as well.

Have fun on your last day off Vija!

Thanks! I am having a great day so far.

Hi all,

We are back from Tallahassee and we are exhausted. Moved son # 1 back from college. Out of his third story appt with out an elevator. We thought he would be ready and wee would just have to load-- well silly us. The first issue was the van we were supposed to borrow from my company wouldn't start. So off we went in the car. So next week end we will have to rent a u haul to get the furniture back. Ugh. Then we had to help pack up and clean!!! I am tired. One room mate is staying for another session so I feel bad with all the work that is left.I cleaned one bathroom, the stove & the microwave. With the two cars we got everything but the bed, bike and bar stools. So now we know what one of us will be doing next week.

It's nice to have every one home. My house is a total mess but oh well.

OMG...I can so relate....DD19 started her sophmore year of college last August so we borrowed a truck and brought all her stuff up to college......then during the month of October she found out she would be doing a study abroad program in London starting in January....so all the stuff we thought would be staying in Oneonta for a full school term turns out to be coming back to our house at the end of December....so back up to college with the borrowed pick up again and lugging it all down (at least they did have an elevator) truck and bringing it back home.....it is all in the garage taking up space as DD was in London for 4 months....she is now back home and we now have to head back up to Oneonta next month (as she will be living off campus and had to take a year rental which starts next month). So I feel your pain!!! Can't wait until she graduates!!! Oh...but next year she is going to F.I.T. in the NYC so another pick up truck is in our future!!!

congratulations to all the losers, good number for all of you.

Hope everyone has a fantastic and losing week.

Congrats to all the winners this week.

Good luck to all those having kids moving back from college. DH1 will be moving back in a couple of weeks and then he is not going any where after that since he is GRADUATING    The only sad part is that he is moving back home. He is the messy one of my two sons and ds2 is leaving in AUg for colllege. Ds1 eats all my veggies that I buy for myself. I wouldn't mind if he ate some but he thinks nothing of finishing them in the middle of the night and then I have nothing for work the next day.

HAve a good day everyone. It is really crummy here in jersey. Cloudy rainy just plain miserable.

I had a pretty good weekend if you don't count Friday night. A group of moms went to see another's school version of Beauty and the Beast. Then we went out to eat and give our opinions of it. We had a good time. The rest of the weekend I was pretty good since I was the only one I was cooking for. No one was home all weekend. Sat was so quiet that the only one I spoke to that day was the two clerks when I went out to do some shopping. No one called the entire day. I did get a small baby blanket done.

HAve a magical losing daypixiedust: pixiedust:

Took the Biggest Loser quiz - got 5 wrong. Wish they would have summarized the answers at the end (or wish I had written them down). :confused3

Anyway, not too great - will have to watch labels more closely

OK....what do you guys eat prior to working out? I have protein shakes for afterwards which I'm ok with but I'm having pre-workout problems. I have to be at the gym at 6 am and honestly the thought of eating/drinking something prior makes me sick feeling but this morning during training I was nauseaus from not eating. Ugh.

Do you live in Westchester? I grewp up in the bronx and then up in Montrose.

These kids sure do run the show don't they? Good for them though. I would love to have the whole world ahead of me again.

I eat a fiber one bar on my way to the gym, but it's after work. What about a bannana?

It is really crummy here in jersey. Cloudy rainy just plain miserable.

You can say that again. Southern Jersey here (blackwood to be exact), and yes, it's another "eeyore" type day. :sad2:

Sorry I cant answer the eating before working out question as I get home from work at 5:15 and usually hit the treadmill from 5:30-6:15/6:30 then shower (which DW is grateful for lol) then have dinner. So really, the last thing I eat is usually my afternoon snack at work which is fruit of some sort (banana, orange, grapes, etc).:confused3

Just checking in. Went to a local baseball game on Friday night. We were in a suite at the ball park. I had a hotdog with no roll, a 1/2 a chicken wrap with no wrap, a bite of cake (it was really a bite) and a bite of funnel cake (yup, just a bite). Not bad for me!!!

I did go shopping with my daughter yesterday and didn't get tired need to sit down every five minutes. Lunch was a sample of stuff at Costco. Not great, but we didn't eat a meal in addition to the samples!!

Still not as active as I should be, but with the damp weather, my joints aren't cooperatiing! I still take the stairs down, though! And I still feel great!

Happy Monday, all. (I hate Mondays.)

Congrats Big Losers, especially wmjivy!!!:cool1:

More Congrats to Joanne and her grad DS!!:dancer:

HiddenMickeys & domiii: I'm having the opposite weather issue. It's been a cold (for So. CA) winter now suddenly it's 100 dgrees!!! I am so not going out to walk. It was still in the 80s at 10:00 last night. So, time to break out the treadmill, I guess. LOL!

My plan is to give myself 1 "cheat" day a week but, this weekend, I went a bit mad! My friends unexpectedly came in from Denver, so we went to Disneyland, played a lot and over indulged. Then, I made the mistake of getting on the scale today.:scared1: No worries. The upside of this little experiment is that some of things I was hooked on before tasted waayyyy to sweet after not having them for a month. I actually felt nauseous when I woke up today. Makes it that much easier to just say no in the future.

Keep it up!!

Hey everyone. First day on the new job went just fine. This was the hospital orientation, so basic info. Tomorrow will be the first day in the department. Keep sending those good luck wishes!:goodvibes

Food wise I am doing pretty good today, so I am happy.

As far as the biggest loser quiz goes, I got 5 right. I thought I might do better, so I am surprised that is all I got. Oh well. just shows me I have more learning to do!

Have a great day everyone!

Glad your first day went well. I work in a hospital, too! I am not clinical in any way. I greatly admire those who are!

My plan is to give myself 1 "cheat" day a week but, this weekend, I went a bit mad!

Good thought. Maybe I should save my whole week's cheats for Friday. Our 21st anniversary is Friday - I'm already worried about cheats then!! We are planning dinner at the Melting Pot. I've never been. :yay:

Congrats to the Grad!:thumbsup2

Congrats to all the big losers this week. I haven't lost any lbs, but I think I have lost inches. :thumbsup2 I just haven't taken the time to measure myself to check. Keep it up everyone. :thumbsup2

I'v had a busy weekend and haven't posted.

It's a sad day. My dog has been in poor health lately and took a turn for the worst over the weekend. We had to put her down this morning. (She was almost 11 years old. ):sad1:
