OK just did the pedicure thing. DD, 17, loves to sit and do my toenails. I hate to sit for that long but I did it. I am going to try and do this weeks challenge. 8 hours a sleep will be a nightmare though, lol. I don't think I have done that in years...I count it a good night if I sleep 5.:goodvibes Good luck this week team!:goodvibes :cheer2:

Today by regional coordinator asked me if i had lost more weight because i was looking great. You guys know ive been gaining but am now back on the right track so what shock it was that he noticed that i was smaller. Trust me i was totally excited when he said it.

Amanda

ps congrats to all the losers. I will be on the top 10 list next week.

Hi alll,

Well I am down 0.5 pounds this week. NOt a huge loss but I am happy with my slow and persistent progress.

QOTD: Should a very good question!

Yes I do notice the weight loss in other areas, even though it may not be on the scale. My pants fit much better (like they are supposed to) and I have a much better energy level and concentration level for work. An additional thing I notice of late is that I am less irritable and up and down with my emotions and the way things affect me. I am on a more even keel now and I enjoy it. I would like to think that others around me have noticed, even if they do not say it.

WTG Amanda!!!:woohoo:

This challenge will be just that--a challenge! 8 hours/night? Hmmmm, might be a good idea!

Since I'm temporarily one handed, can someone ELSE give me a manicure/pedicure?

I was a bit scared when I saw the "date" one--I haven't had a date in over 7 years!!! LOL. Guess I'll have to come up with something with each of the kids, and maybe...the dog???:rotfl2:

I feel like a stuffed pig right now. I am SOOOO full from my tiny little dinner. No snack for me tonite. None this afternoon either. I gotta figure this out....

Sweet dreams everyone, for you 8 hours tonite!!!

This info is late and out of date but I still wanted to share it with you. Some of you seem to be getting frustrated and stalled. I myself have been in a low place but I am getting back in the game and want to encourage you too.

At 5 weeks we had 69 participants in our challenge. 2 were newbies that just joined. Of the 67 regulars for 5 weeks we had

3 gains
2 maintains
32 losing 1-5 pounds
22 losing 6-10 pounds
6 losing 11-15 pounds
1 losing 16-20 pounds
1 losing 21-25 pounds

We started weighing 14746.6 pounds and ended week 5 weighing 14350 pounds with a net loss of 396.6 pounds. That is an average loss of 5.919 pounds per person, not bad for 5 weeks. Our average percentage of weight lost per person was 2.689%.

Now I would like to recognize our top 23 losers for the first third of the WISH Biggest Loser 4 challenge.

Congratulations superstars!!!! You are phenomenal. You are an inspiration. You are the best.

Now to those of you not on the list, like me, do not despair. Is there a real reason you are not on the list? I know my reason - I was not committed. But now I am! How about you? Whazzup? Are you doing your best, do you have a plan, are you exercising? You know the questions you need to answer.

If you are doing all you can and you are still not on the list well I am sorry about that. You are a superstar to me. You inspire me. You keep working hard even though you are not getting recognized here. In that case please let us know on the weekly thread. Toot your horn, you deserve it. Did you say no to that Valentine's Day chocolate? Then toot your horn and tell us about it. Did you exercise after a long, exhausting day at work? Then toot your horn and tell us about it. Did you only have one French fry (is that humanly possible?)? Then toot your horn and tell us about it. I need to hear your stories. I need to be inspired. Let's help each other.

Week 10 will be here soon and there will be a new list of superstars. We have folks dropping out and our numbers are thinning. Will you stick it out? Will you be a superstar? I have no doubt. I know you can do it.

You, my Biggest Loser teammate, have the ability to be superstar. I know you can do this. I know you can become the healthy person that you want to be. Let's do this together. We need each other. This challenge will do you the most if you take it seriously and participate at a level that is best for you. We are in this together. Onwards and downwards. One day at a time.

Have a healthy day!

Congrats to all the losers.

This coming week's challenge is going to be hard for me. I never sleep more than 7 hours. Even when I have a chance to sleep 8 hours I don't. Evfen during the summer I never sleep late. WHen I am on vacationI always carry a book light so I can read before everyone gets up. I am usually up for at least an hour before everyone else gets up. 8 hours is impossible for me. I get up when it is starting to get light. Now that it is getting lighter earlier I can't sleep past 6. We also started tech week this week with ds2's school and I like to stay up to see how rehersals went. I also will be there when they start wearing the costumes. I take notes and then spend some time fixing what needs to be fixed. I'll be lucky if I get 4 hours.

Congrats to all of the continuing Superstars!! I am honored to be among all of you hard workers. Tonight I went for it and really pushed the cardio and stretching I had already done the challenge cardio, but was short on stretching. Well, I got close at least. I was really hoping to max out points though. I did do 60 min on the bike tonight so I'm happy about that.

And speaking of ways we see a difference....I was stretching tonight and...

I COULD TOUCH MY TOES!!!

I was able to both standing with legs straight together and sitting. I haven't been able to do that since I can't even remember when. Probably sometime in high school if not before. I'm totally pumped just about that! Now, onward to those 190s!

I'm with everyone on the challenge of this week's challenge. With a nightowl DD and a DH who has to be driven to work at 5:30 half the week, 8 hours is not often in my vocabulary. I'm going to push DD towards the chair at least this week and see if I can pull it off (when I'm tired and she's not, I sleep in the recliner while she watches a movie from my lap).

The manicure pay be the other problem as I am a terrible nail biter. I wonder if you can manicure short short nails?

Good luck everyone! I'm off to puruse the Chili's menu as tomorrow is DD's traditional Chili's birthday lunch. I know that I can come out just fine with a little advance leg work.

Down 2.2 this week.

For the QOTD - I don't really pay attention to the scale week-by-week. Nor to clothes sizes. Going by this morning's weight, I'm 3.4 pounds from goal, and still wearing clothes that fit me 15 pounds ago because I'm too cheap to buy "intermediate" clothes this close to goal. I had clothes that fit me at my start weight, at ~30 pounds down, and at ~50 pounds down. But the pickings are pretty thin now - I haven't been this weight in at least 15 years. (As I sit here, I'm wearing a pair of pants belonging to my mother, which are at least 2 sizes too large, but which don't quite fall off me when I stand up.) For better or for worse, I'm a different shape than I was 15 years ago, so I do have some stuff that fits passably.

I'm looking forward to maintaining, so I can have clothes that fit. ;) I'm really long-waisted, though, and the fashion seems to be for low-rise jeans, which do not fit me at all, even in the right size. Even "sits at natural waist" hits me an inch too low.

Congrats, everybody! I had a few weeks earlier this month where I was stalled, so I'm not in the top 23. But I wanted to give a big shout-out to my BL buddy, who ranked in the top 10 this week! :cheer2:

Congrats to all the superstars in the group! Way to go. I see lots of my cruise buddies in that group - Joanne, Amanda and Annette. Way to go ladies!

Good Wednesday morning.

A special congrats to my buddy lisaviolet for making it to the top 10:cheer2: :cheer2: and also to all the players since you are all winners. Anyone who has stayed on this long is a winner.

Don't forget there is a new challenge up that started this morning. Don't forget to pm your challenge points to PRINCESS VIJA for last week's challenge.

I have a lot on my plate this week. Too much drama going on in some extra curricular activities my dh and I work with. I have enough on my plate with school and costumes for ds2's play at his school. Then to top it off ds1's car is in the shop.. He had a 3:30 appointment and when he called at 6 all they had done is test drive it and the guy who does the diagnosis left at 5:mad:  So he drove me to school and is taking my car to class (an hour away) and then is picking me up but not until I hang around school for an extra hour

Hope everyone has a magical losing day pixiedust: pixiedust:

I understand about the pants im 5'2" with short legs and long body. It takes me about 25 pairs of pants to find 1 pair that fits right. Sometimes i buy peddle pushers and they fit me like regular pants. :rotfl:

Mary thanks for the congrats, congrats to you too.

Dona, sorry you have so much drama it can be extremely stressful but if you need to relax you can always vent here.

Everyone thank you for your help over the last couple of weeks. I feel like i have control again.

Amanda

Wow!! We're already 1/3 of the way through our challenge!! Congratulations to everyone on the top 20 and more importantly EVERYONE should give themselves a huge round of applause for still being here and trying. I started the BL3 here on WISH and I bailed because I wasn't doing well - which was a really dumb thing to do. This challenge has kept me so motivated and the competition part is really good for me. I am a very competitive person - so although I want everyone to do well it helps to push myself to do better. I haven't done well the last 2 or 3 weeks (for me) and haven't been on the top 10 list and that has really been keeping me more in line. I do have to say I was pumped to be # 4 though so far!! Of course it gives me room for improvement which is just what I need.

Oh....and someone asked about Dance Dance Revolution earlier. I also do that for exercise (at times - I've been really bad lately) but I asked for a Playstation 2 for Christmas just for that and LOVE doing it. I think it was just in January they came out with a DISNEY Dance Dance Revolution and it's AWESOME!! I think the system is $149 and then the dance pad is $50 - $80 and the games are around $30. So initially there is some expense but it is a lot of fun!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Wow I am in the top 10... You all are the best you are the reason I am going to succeed on this journey!!! Thanks to all it has been a total pleasure to know that this board is there for me and I just need to come to this board when I need support or just a little kick when I wake up and want to go back to my easy bad habits!! Thanks to all!!:grouphug: :grouphug: :flower3:

Congrats to all the superstars in the group! Way to go. I see lots of my cruise buddies in that group - Joanne, Amanda and Annette. Way to go ladies!

Thanks mary we are going to be a skinny bunch by Sept!!!!

Mary- I was thinking about you and your ankle when I was in Pilates last night. Have you ever tried Pilates? There is no strain on any joints. There is no cardio but it will tone you up.

This challenge will be hard- no eight hours here, and I am not a girly girl never had a manicure or pedicure.

Exciting thing this morning- got into a pre-christmas pair of pants and they don't even hurt!!!!!

Hang in there every one, and congrats to al the losers.

Thanks for the congrats everyone. I know that I have been MIA. But I promise to work on that. I just haven't felt like myself lately. Little depressed. Not sure why. :confused3

Annette

This challenge is just frustrating (as was the last one but I will get to that). I really want to get 100% on one of these! Like everyone else, 8 hours is just a pipe dream! My dog and cats LOVE morning, so I am up by 6:30 regardless of when I went to bed!

As for last weeks challenge, I did everything but the stretching. Because of snow and ice and life I only made it to one hour of pilates. So alas I am 1.5 hours short on the stretching front! Sooo... this week I am going to "redo" last weeks challenge and try to get in this weeks as well (minus the sleeping thing, not going to happen). I will do all my cardio and get to pilates at least twice and do some stretching stuff at home for a half an hour to make up for the rest of the time!!
