:::grumble:::

I woke up this morning with a sore throat and congestion in my head, I can barely breathe out of my nose. Needless to say, if I can barely breathe while walking around the house running around the track just wasn't happening. Blarg. I'm hoping to be able to walk tonight.

I'm really starting to take all these little obstacles personally now.

Just a few minutes ago a friend of mine called from this really fabulous German bakery that I love. I guess I'm making progress, I wasn't craving the cake he was talking about, it was the black forest ham sandwich on pretzel bread that was making me drool.

I want Monday to be over now thankyouverymuch. :)

I had oatmeal for breakfast, I'll make sure we eat well for lunch, and then I have no idea what we're having for dinner, it's got to be quick, we've got dance class tonight.

Congrats to the challenge winners and all you losers out there! I can say I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in, hopefully all that water that AF brought with her will be gone by then.

I had a bad bad bad weekend with too much of the wrong types of foods. We had a training all weekend and with that comes lots of food. I am generally pretty good about avoiding over eating but for some reason I had absolutely NO self control. I ate cookies (way too many), pizza, chips, and more. I feel GROSS!! Today I am working hard to stay on plan. I brough veggie soup for lunch and have a 100 calorie pack of popcorn. I am going to try to get a lot of water in to flush my system. And do extra exercise. But there is still chips left over in the breakroom and I am going to have to try to avoid them.

:lmao: :lmao: "Learn to embrace hunger":lmao: :lmao: Give me a breaki!:rotfl:

I speak a very little bit of Turkish--I learn more each trip. My kids HATE it when I speak Turkish to them (they understand at least as much as I know). I usually use it when they don't answer me when I call. Then I use the Turkish to call them "CHILDREN!!!! COME RIGHT NOW!!!! They ALWAYS respond to that, if for no other reason than to tell me to stop speaking Turkish!:rotfl: I wish I spoke more than I do--my sister is fluent since she's lived there for 17 years.

Good job on resisting temptation yesterday! It's so hard to do, but it feels SO good knowing you've done it successfully!!:cool1:

That is pretty cool! I love the fact that your kids will always come, just to tell you to stop talking Turkish!:lmao:

I did pretty good today so far. OhMom gave me a great idea to plug into Sparkpeople what I plan to eat and arrange my calories so I don't over do it. This is my first day of trying that and it was a great idea!

thanks ohMom!

What do you do to plan your day?

Hang in there buddy - you will overcome your obstacles!!

We were terrible and good at the same time this weekend - takeout pizza Friday night but... got plain which is a first for us. We also went out for mexican Sat. night and did quite well. I ordered reasonably and stayed the same on the scale -my DH ordered a grande burrito the size of his forearm (huge) and was down a pound today!!

Oh well - I am just happy I didn't gain and happier that I stayed ontrack otherwise. We have not eaten take-out or gone out since Jan 1st so this was a giant treat!! Yes, rewarding ourselves by eating badly - a really bad habit!

What do you do to plan your day?

I made up a food log, sort of like WW used to have, with little triangles to fill in when you've had that food/water. I usually know ahead of time what dinner will be that night, and breakfast is just a rotation of 3 different choices, and my snacks rarely vary, so really lunch is what takes the planning. I just look at breakfast time to see what I should have for lunch, and make sure I have what I need in the house. Then I fill in the exhanges that I'll need to get my "quota" for each food type.

I really thing the biggest thing is planning dinner, and since I do mine usually for the week, or at least several days ahead so I can defrost, that makes it easier. I also need to plan ahead for grocery shopping purposes (although I've been to one grocery store or another for 7 out of the last 8 days!!)

Probably the biggest thing is that I lead an extremely boring life, so it doesn't take much planning to keep me on track!

I think I've got the January blues :guilty: I am doing well on my exercise program but just don't feel the desire to eat well. I feel hungry and tired all the time, I gotta get a grip .. I'm just not sure how :sad2:

Just popping in guys - sorry that I don't have time to do that everyday.

I am afraid my computer "fun time" can be limited some days.

I am sorry that so many are sick - please don't pass on any "cyber bugs" to the rest of us - lol.

I am ok, but tired, I have not eaten well today.

I do chart on WW each morning, however, counting points and that is how I stay on track most days.

I have to have this accountability.

I bought some Nutri System snacks from the Shopping channel and I don't like them, boy am I glad I did not buy the whole program. Also they made some "substitutions" and I have heard that this happens when you are on auto delivery also. How charming.

No thanks - I would rather have a portioned amount of something good than a regular diet of something bad.

Anyway, have to go back to "work time".

Have a good week everyone.

Missed my weigh in last week (have to use a coupon) due to my attendance at the Rambo marathon with DH. Had a great time, fun to see all those old movies, most of which seemed new to me as it had been 20 years since I saw them.

The new Rambo has no story line, and Stallone looks old (hey he ain't 20 no more) but still in great shape. Lots of very graphic violence, but hey, he's Rambo.

Got some cute dog tags as a souvenir - that say "Rambo, J. 01/24/08"

Then went to see Juno on Friday. Ellen Page is from my area (Halifax) - and she is great in this.

Have a great week everyone.

Hi Vija - will try to write again tomorrow - you can stop tapping your foot now and start warming it up for you Tae Kwon Do class this week - lol.

Linda (hoping this crappy weather clears up so I can get back to the gym - everything is an ice field)

:tinker: :donald: :mickeyjum

I was just looking back at the challenge for this week, the one I said wouldn't work for me. Well, guess what?!? I was wrong!! I've done the active around the house thing every day so far, and beyond that I've already got 35 points. I did ALOT of running around today, and parked farther out than usual every place I went. And the reading...well, let's just say that took me about a day! :lmao: Still need to know if going to the bookstore counts the same as the library--we don't have a library!!

I agree, planning is key to staying on track. I have recently started planning dinner a week in advance and it makes a big difference!

Hey, what's this boring life??? I'll bet you have excitement in your life! :dance3: And you are here with us!

Hi buddy!

so glad to see ya on the thread!!!:thumbsup2 OK, I stopped tapping my foot and kicked up my feet at TaeKwonDo!;) we had another great class and I was able to keep up pretty good. Very proud of myself, and I am having fun!

Hmmm, the new movie doesn't have a story line? I'll bet DH would still love to see it! If nothing else then for the reminiscing of the "old days"!:rotfl:

Hope the yucky weather is gone soon, keep safe on that frozen ice!

Hey, way to go to rock the challenge. And I'll make an executive decision.... if you go to the bookstore and take time for yourself it is ok to use instead of the library, since you don't have one around.

Have a great night everyone and see ya on the flip side in the morning!:flower3:

I use sparkpeople to plan my meals also. Tonight was spaghetti nite(all you can eat for 3.99) at one of our favorite hangouts. We always go there with our brother so i planned how much i could eat right down to the pat of butter on the bread. I love sparkspeople i think its one of the reasons i have been doing so well. I never realized before how many calories i was eating and what i was eating. Tomorrow i will post the reason why im so :yay: dont want to spoil the suprise.

I am really really struggling. I thought today would be a good day, it started out that way but sure hasnt ended that way. I really really need to get back on track but I am just not sure what to do. I am eating everything in site and even when I worked out this evenin I just couldn't put my heart into it. My feet/ankels even hurt.
