And just why would this be the only time you come this close???

I don't doubt one bit that we WILL be seeing your name up there in that top 10 list in the coming weeks so why should you doubt that. I know making that top 10 is one of the things driving me - and the desire to make that Number 1 spot one of these weeks :)

This i my 1st week not in the top 10. This is what also drives me. I am extremely competitive. Right now i'm starting to fight a cold that Annette gave me.

Congratulations top 10 you rock!!!

Amanda

Evening everyone!

Big congratulations to all the biggest losers of the week. Way to go BIG TIME. I am happy for all of you. I know how good I felt last week when I was in the top ten.

I am keeping up with healthy food choices and exercising. My clothes are feeling like they are fitting better, especially my pants. :)

Again, congrats to all and yes we are all worth it. :cool2:

Congratulations Top 10!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Keep up the good work!! I think we all should be striving and KNOWING that we will hit those top spots too!! :cheer2:

I went to the gym yesterday and did a water aerobics class. It kicked my butt!! I'm more sore than I thought I could be!

Today has not really been a good day food and exercise wise, but I'm gonna do better the rest of the week!

Have a Great Friday everyone!!:hippie:

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I'm not trying to be negative--believe me, I'm the eternal optimist!! I just meant that this was my "big loss" week, and I'd be surprised to lose this much in a week again. And with some of the big losers on here who lose several pounds each week, my 1-1.5 pounds just ain't gonna cut it!!!

No big deal though, I just had hoped to be on that list this week. But what really matters is that I'm sticking to it--eating right, exercising, drinking my water. I'm actually having a hard time eating all the food I'm supposed to because it's just so much food I can't get it all in!!! Who would EVER have thought I'd ever complain about having too much food?!?:lmao:

Wow I made the top 10 - sorry I have not posted here lately. I haven't been well and feeling like posting.

How does everyone handle eating and exercise when they are sick?

I guess it depends on what kind of "sick" I am. I had this nasty cold/flu thing Sunday and kind of Monday. I did my best to eat enough for my calorie range. I thought I'd end up a couple hundred too low though as I tried and threw out several snacks that evening as I just couldn't taste them well enough to enjoy them. Exercise, on the other hand, just didn't happen on Sunday. I was so beat down that I wasn't much up for walking around the house, let alone doing cardio or anything. Monday was still a slow day so I eased back into the exercise by walking the mall when we took the kids to the movie/some shopping. It was slower paced, but higher step-count than a normal walk for me. As the week went on, I just tried to keep on my usual schedule, but would find myself needing to adjust the intensity - the bike was set to a lower tension, I broke up the 40 minutes into two 20 min sessions with a 30 min break in between, slowed my walking pace, etc. Unfortunately, I'm still not back up to par on the stamina side and missed exercising again yesterday for lack of energy to do much of anything. Hopefully as my breathing and coughing improve, the stamina will too.

Good Friday Morning Everyone. Has Everyone posted to Princess Vija their totals for the challenge this week. If you have not done this please do this as soon as possible. They are supposed to be in by noon today.

I have 45 points. I didn't hit the max of 65 but not bad.

I took this morning off from exercising. I have been working out everyday this week so I thought I should take a break this morning and get started again tomorrrow.

Eating has been pretty good. I didn't plan on going out to eat last night but we went to see ds2's bowling match so dh suggested that we get something on the way home. We stopped at Wendy's. I had a small chili without cheese and a side salad with only about 1/3 of the dressing packet. Not too bad and pretty filling also.

Off to start my day. Be back later.

Good morning! I did pretty good on the challenge earning 40 points. I was home from work yesterday as I wasn't feeling well. As the day went on and I was feeling better did a little too much snacking. Still I was able to do a 60 minute workout to finish up the challenge.

Congrats to buddy winnedapooh for being down this week and all of the other losers. Sadly I did not lose but I seem to go in 2 week cycles. No loss then loss no loss then loss.

My screen name is because DH is a flight sim fanatic. He's taking flying lessons though so I'm gonna have to change it in the future to reflect it.

Just wanted to add for all the people that did not lose or perhaps gained....remember today is a new day. Don't let a gain stop you from being the healthy person that you want to be.

i apologize for not getting this week's challenge posted last night --- here we go

We have challenged ourselves in how we fuel our bodies and how we burn stored energy......now it is the week to challenge our conscious efforts made to form healthy lifestyle habits......these tasks may help you to slow down in your sense of rushing about, or maybe just do something nice for yourself :thumbsup2

Here is how it works; below you see a list of ‘tasks’. For the next 7 days you are challenged to complete as many ‘tasks’ as you can. Each completed task is valued at 5 pts. During the 7 days of the challenge, keep record of a completed task and at the end of the week turn in your final total score to PRINCESS VIJA. For example, task #1 -- Spend 10 minutes everyday being active around your house while doing chores --- this is a one time task and you must complete it entirely to award yourself 15 pts. However, task #2 – Take a relaxing bubble bath/hot tub.....– is possible to complete this task more than once. Tasks that can be completed multiple times have maximum points per task noted

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself. After all, if you cheat you are only cheating yourself from forming healthy exercising habits :goodvibes

TASKS:

  1. Spend 10 minutes everyday being active around your house while doing chores -- MAX 15 pts

  2. Park in the far area of parking lot this week, at least 4 times -- (4 parkings = 5 pts; 8 parkings = 10 pts; 12 parkings = 15 pts) --- MAX 15 pts

  3. Take a relaxing bubble bath/relax in a hot tub -- 5 pts each soak -- MAX 10 pts

  4. Visit the library and checkout 3 books for leisure reading --(1 trip checking out 3 books = 5 pts; 2 trips checking out another 3 books = 10 pts) --- MAX 10 pts

  5. Spend 30 mins reading for pleasure -- every 30 mins award yourself 5 pts -- max 15 pts (can be cumulative time but no less than 15 mins per reading as the goal is to relax and have a break)

  6. Call or visit an old friend you haven't seen in a while -- (one call is a conversation not a voicemail or message :teeth: one successful call or visit = 5 pts; 2 combo of phone call/visits = 10 pts; 3 combo of phone call/visits = 15 pts) --- MAX 15 pts

  7. Spend 30 minutes of quality one on one time with a child -- (30 cumulative minutes = 5 pts; 60 cumulative minutes = 10 pts; 90 cumulative minutes = 15 pts; 120 cumulative minutes = 20 pts) --- MAX 20 pts

This challenge is meant to motivate you...not to stress you! You may choose to complete one or two of the tasks, or all of them. Let this challenge be want you need it to be.....to CHALLENGE YOU!

The challenge begins on Friday January 25 at 7:30 a.m. and ends on Thursday January 31 midnight. Your final score must be reported in by Friday February 1 at 12:00 p.m. EST in order to be included.

now that everyone has a 'taste' of the challenges -- please remember to PM me with any suggestions for tasks in the categories of eating, exercising, and/or healthy lifestyle! :thanks:

Good morning everyone!! I'm posting here for accountability that I am going to do this weeks challenge. I chose not to do the first two challenges....partially because I was on vacation part of both weeks - but the other reason was I was just getting in my groove and focusing on eating and exercising was enough for me to work with......I didn't want to throw something else on there and mess myself up. But I feel ready now to take on additional tasks so I will do my best to rack up the points in this weeks challenge.

Hi everyone! Please remember to send in those challenge numbers to me. They are due by noon today!

Last night at TaeKwonDo I had a lot of fun. We did bag work. Which means kicking those tall big bags. I really enjoyed it! My knees were a bit sore last night, and this morning I feel "creaky" for lack of better words!:lmao: I opted to give my body a rest today and skip my work out. I think it is the right decision. I don't want to push myself to where I hurt myself.

I love the next weeks challenge and I am going to really go for it. I didn't do so good on this weeks challenge. I only have 15 points, but I am ok with that, because I really focussed on getting started with TaeKwonDo.

AND TONIGHT I AM GOING TO GO SEE THE BUCKET LIST!!!! I can't wait!:woohoo:

[*]Spend 10 minutes everyday being active around your house while doing chores -- MAX 15 pts

[*]Spend 30 minutes of quality one on one time with a child -- (30 cumulative minutes = 5 pts; 60 cumulative minutes = 10 pts; 90 cumulative minutes = 15 pts; 120 cumulative minutes = 20 pts) --- MAX 20 pts

So, the kids have 1/2 a day today. Can I kill 2 birds with one stone here...

I plan on making DD clean her room with me when she gets home... Does that count for both? Qulity time and cleaning?:rotfl:

I think I could max out the quality time with her spending all 120 minutes of just cleaning her incredibly disorganized room!!!!:lmao:

Good Morning everyone! Hope you all feel ready to take on another great BL4 week.
Spend 30 minutes of quality one on one time with a child
Gee does quality time count as walking from the far area of the parking lot together then listening to her complain about it for the next 30 minutes? -just kidding

ok gang -- we are embarking on the WEEKEND...urgh....the dreaded days for a dieter........who's rallying up with me???

i have plugged in my dinner into sparkpeople and figured out that it is NOT within my calories today to have a glass of wine tonight...pooh....

Wow, what a challenge for the week. Some of those are really going to challenge me. Especially the cleaning EVERYDAY  What's that? :rotfl2: Told my DH that one and he was like OH that's a good one for you :p

I have a question about task number 4:
I have almost a whole library of unread books in my spare room, so I Really don't need to go to the library and get more. I can commit to the reading from task 5, but I was wondering if I could substitute something like "put together a puzzle" which is something I have wanted to do and put of for like a year? What do you guys think? I'm ok with a no, I just won't get points for task 4, but thought the puzzle sub. would be good. :confused3

K, everyone be Strong over the weekend!! Don't give into temptation! :cheer2:

Foxfiregrrl, I was thinking the same as you! Clean my house every day??? I don't EVER clean my house!! I mean sure, I straighten up constantly, but I've had a housekeeper to do the cleaning for over 20 years, and I'm sure not about to start cleaning my house now!!!

And as to books, I have NEVER been to my "local" library, because we don't have one in our town, and the 2 closest ones are 20 minutes away with traffic! Besides, the books I like are not usually available at the library. But I have about 25 waiting to be read--I buy them a bunch at a time when I see some I like, and read them as time permits.

I'm thinking this challenge is not gonna be so much for me, since most of the things on here just aren't "me". Parking far away is fine usually, but I'll be stopping my Mobic as of Monday in preparation for rotator cuff surgery the next week, and walking is going to be agony!!

Hi everyone :wave2:

Sorry for not being around this past week; it's been crazy at work and I haven't been feeling the best physically, either.

I forgot to send my weight on Tuesday - What should I do?? Should I send it now, or just wait and send my weight in next Tuesday?? :confused3
