Joannel - could you elaborate on the BOSU? I've seen them, but know nothing about them.

AEG, I'm with you on staying on points today!! Must do it!! Also need to return stuff - but I haven't even started that!!

Hope everyone has a great Weekend! Hopefully I'll actually feel good enough to get to the gym..... still fighting crud & obsessing over swollen nodes & DD's enlarged spleen. (this has been some nasty stuff!)

The bosu is half a ball. It means both sides up. The class is like step but much harder cause it's higher and it's work just to stay on it. Then we flip it over and push ups planks and misc other fun things:rolleyes1 . Then we also flip it back over and do ab work on it. I like it cause it really makes me work hard and sweat, the younger and smaller folks have an easier time.

Hope every one is having a great week end. The last child goes back to college today, so I can concentrate on the diet now. Took down all the Christmas stuff yesterday and cleaned house- does that count as exercise? Didn't have time for much else. Took my mother to church and then out for one last dinner with son #1.

Have a good Sunday!!!!!

I went to my sisters for supper last night, and we had taco salads with some chili I had made, which was good and healthy, but I did over do it on the chips and salsa before dinner. I figure I used about 9 flex points on the chips, and then another 4 for 2 glasses of wine. I'll have to stay within my daily points today and tomorrow andI'll be ok.

Hope you're all having a good weekend. Two more days and week one is over and we'll all officially be losers!!!!:cheer2:

I was good all week! However I was simply horrible Friday and Saturday! Good news is last night DH and I decided that if we can swing it $$$ wise we will go to WDW over my kids SPring Break!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: SO I figure that gives me 10 weeks to lose 16 lbs to get me to my first big goal of 2008 (which is that the 1st # in my weight be a 1 for the first time in many, many years) A trip to see the mouse should keep me motivated. I'm anxious to see the mouse this year as a friend of mine has a daughter who is the mouse and sometimes she is the mouse's girlfriend. I'll have to get her appearance schedule! I should be able to do 16 pounds in 10 weeks, right? I'll have to do lots of this :yay:

Good morning everyone!

Well yesterday I had good intentions but food-wise; it was the pits. Dh stated that he's getting tired of baked food so we ended up with a hamburger and fries. I should have held strong I know but the lure of the fries was too much to bear. I did only have a small handful though so I'm proud of myself for not pigging out completely.

Exercise was much better. I walked the LSU lakes and an extra loop near there for a total of 5 miles.

Today is going to be a better day.

I am with those who comment on the "thread is hopping" - we do rock don't we :cool1:

And, I am here to happily report I did STAY OP yesterday! I ended up having dinner about 7:00 which is later that I want to eat - but even though I could have eaten more - just "doled" out what was allowed and that was it! DH kept wanting to eat cookies and I reminded him he was "dieting" (we have a family weight loss challenge going - I was thinking Molli (ohMom) might have said that earlier and we "need" the guys to lose like they can usually do (you know that disgusting 5+ pounds a week while we (women) struggle for a pound or two!) so, I thought it was my "DUTY" to tell him - no cookies - besides if he didn't have any - no temptation for me either!

Hey - Richard Simmons - so glad that you have taken an interest in our "hopping" healthy, eating/living thread - man - we are on "it" aren't we? - exercise and healthy eating AND the support for one another - IMPRESSIVE - right? Stop back and see us - it's always fun to know who "lurks" :thumbsup2

Goldcupmom - did you make it yesterday, too OP?

Whatever plan you are following - here's more :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to EACH OF YOU - one day at a time - WE CAN ALL DO THIS ONE DAY AT A TIME!

I have to go find my buddy "Chamonix" I don't believe (she- I think she is a she anyway) has posted her info yet and I haven't seen her on this thread - off to pm her and see how she is doing :yay:

Good Sunday Morning.

I am late since I had to go to 7:30 mass and I never made it to the computer before we left. I just had breakfast and off to do the dishes and then to the local high school to organize costumes with the costume designer.before the cast and director comes in.

Question of the Day

For those who celebrate Christmas: Is all your decorations down?

For me the last thing I take down is my nativity set. It will probably come down sometime this week. The tree and everything else is down and there is some stuff that stillhas to go to the basement but it is all down.

Have a healthy day everyone.

OhMom that would be good if you can shrink the clippie. THanks for doing that.

Decorations are down - That is such a good feeling even though I love those house decorated.

Time to organize the basement.

Question: Did anyone see the Jenny Craig commercial with Valerie Bertelli talking about her weight loss and New Years?

I think she looked great and sounded sooooo happy.

Someday soon that will be all of us :goodvibes

Good Sunday Morning.

Question of the Day

For those who celebrate Christmas: Is all your decorations down?

Have a healthy day everyone.

.

:santa: Christmas stuff is down but we didn't put much up this year since we had our first Christmas in WDW:banana: I bought some things at the dollar store and had it shipped to our resort ahead of time. It decorated our unit and I didn't feel too bad about tossing it when we left. The Christmas tree for our home this year was not the usual 7' tree we decided not to pay the big $$$ for a large tree this year since we were not going to be home for two weeks of December so taking down the little 3 1/2 foot tree was a snap. :santa:

Have a great day all and don't forget to drink your water!! :drinking1

We celebrate Hanukkah and I just finished washing up the menorahs (the candle holders) and getting off the wax on them and put them away. They've been sitting out collecting dust.

Thanks for the reminder!

And, if anyone has seen my buddy, mansionterror, tell her I'm looking for her. Haven't heard from her yet.

Good morning!

No, my Christmas decorations aren't down yet. LOL! HOWEVER, I at least got to the store to replace the battery for my scale. So at least I did something this weekend. LOL!

On a good note, it turns out I DIDN'T put on six pounds during vacation after all. LOL! However, I'm hoping to lose 31 pounds all together and my ticker is wrong. LOL! I've gone and checked the data in it and the numbers I put in are correct, but it still keeps on saying I'm trying to lose 41 pounds, not 31. Anyone else have this problem w/TickerFactory? LOL! Are there any DISNEY weight loss tickers online? I'd love to switch!

I am a little behind on the questions
Q1 - Favorite exercise is probably treadmill
Q2 - Christmas is gone from my house - packed up - see ya next year!

I have been on program since Jan.1st and sticking to the dieting very well - keeping a journal and staying under my target caloric intake daily. Day 2 I was down 3lbs, day 3 I was day another 2lbs. Day 4,5,&6 same weight. Not surprised and I am not letting it distract me either! My January goal is 18lbs so I got 13 more to go! If I make my January goal then I only need to lose 57 more pounds for my goal!

Exercise is where I lack! I just started yesterday and did the treadmill for just under 3 miles. I started with the intention of 20 minutes and the better the tunes were on my ipod the more "into" I got. Pulled out the floor mat and I am attempting to inflate this giant ball which I am not sure exactly what I will do with it but I got one! A quick visit to the mall last night and DH and I did a complete impulse buy and got one of those home gyms. Looking forward to some weight training!

I love this challenge and I am getting inspiration from all of you! I actually starting looking into marathon training (which is so far from anything I have ever even considered doing in my life  )

good morning

my decorations are stil up  but when i had my DD GS troop over to get their cookie paperwork, I commented to the leader that i hadn't even started taking it down and she reminded me that in the church calendar the Christmas season isn't over until today, Epiphany. so i'm going with that logic ..... that is on my list to do today, get in crawlspace and bring down the storage tubs to start tomorrow. it depresses me, i love the decorations, i have 2 trees up and holiday decor in all the other rooms on the first floor. not like those homes you see on HGTV that are extreme but little bits here and there

i'll work on the clippie later...i think we may take the girls to see Alvin this afternoon...no popcorn for me

Good Morning again,

All the christmas stuff is down. How I am cleaning to put everything back where it belongs. Finished making muddy buddies- with out eating any for the college boy...... Now off to pack his car and get him on his way.

Have a great Sunday......

My decorations are also still up, but my goal for today is to start and put away the kitchen and living room decorations and take down the tree. That will just leave the playroom. Yet here I sit on the Dis!:rolleyes1 I remembered 1/6 was a significant day, but couldn't remember Epiphany. I think we used to call it Little Christmas.

We went to see Alvin last weekend, and it was great. My son just loved it.

Keep up the great work all!!:cheer2:

I am also a liite behind so here it goes.
Question 1- I love yoga and the eliptical
Question 2- Christmas is gone from my house
and thank you OhMom for the nice comment about my avatar I Wish next time I am on the cruise I can take a in shape picture of me with my kids!!!!

Question of the Day

For those who celebrate Christmas: Is all your decorations down?

All of our Christmas stuff has been put away for a week now. We were supposed to get snow over New Years so we beat it to the punch and took down all the outside stuff. Since we were on a roll we took down and put away all the inside stuff as well. That gave me a pretty good workout last weekend as I think it was something like 10 tubs of Christmas decorations that lifted up to DH in the attic.

Hi Everyone!

Is it to late to join? I had no idea thread was even here! I actually joined The Biggest Loser Club on line and it is really helping me. I started on Dec 31st and have lost 3 pounds so far. My goal is 50-65 pounds. We have a trip to Hawaii in June and a trip to WDW in Oct. This may sound strange but I would like be IN the pictures this year. I rarely allow my self to be photographed because I always end up throwing them out. I just hate how I look.

Anyway, this is the year! I am very motivated and can't wait to join this group!

If it's not to late what do I do next?

Thanks so much!

Shellie

The Christmas stuff came down the day after Christmas this year. My kids insisted I have the whole house decorated before I left for this year's solo trip to WDW, so we had everything up on Dec.1st...so by Christmas the tree was a definite fire hazard! And if the tree's down, so is everything else. I usually keep everything up until at least my birthday (1/2), but this year the holidays lacked a certain "luster" anyway (won't get into THAT), so was happy when it was all over.

Christmas Tree is up and so are some knick knacks but I did get the ornaments off the tree..does that count?

I didn't do too great yesterday, we went to Olive Garden (gift cert.) for lunch since we didn't have the kids. No real exercising but I did walk alot through stores lol. Its my birthday today but I do plan on eating healthier and exercising what a gift to myself...with my birthday money I bought a pedometer and a waist slimmer (I guess you wear it while you work out and it helps melt the fat there..the one I bought also has a cold pack or heat pack so it has a duel purpose.

BReakfast I had a bowl of Special K vanilla and almonds..fior lunch I'll have a Lean Cuisine. Dinenr is at the in laws but she is making me grilled chicken and a great salad so i should be ok.
