Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

It will be on style network on Sat night.
Thanks! I will look for it there if it doesn't show up on the NBC website by then.

It looks like I have until 9:50 PM ET to vote. Hmmm ... I don't know. I love Tara so I might have to vote for Ron. I like Mike too and I think he deserves to be in the final 3. Decisions, decisions.

I'm glad they're allowing more time for voting (24 hours). It took forever to get through last night. Had to get votes in from cell and home number. Now I'm gonna call from every extension number at work!

I see this going the same way it did last year with Heba.

If Mike doesn't win, I have a feeling that he will win the home prize.

I voted for Mike. I am afraid that if he doesn't get the acknowledgment he might just go back to the way he was, or not feel good enough to help Max.

Can someone help me out here? Why were Ron and Mike in the bottom two?

ETA: It was 30 days between the last episode and the semi-finals. How long are they home between the semi-finals and the final?

Mike and Ron were in the bottom two because their weight losses proved to be less of a percent than Helen's and Tara's.

Helen's whining bothered me last night. A marathon (or half-marathon) is an individual thing. Even in a large group event, you are pretty much on your own during the distance. They were lucky to be joined for partial stints by other people!

I'm glad the trainers showed up to help each person deal with their individual issues.

For me, I'm hoping Tara takes this one.

OK, I actually flet bad for Tara and Helen last night. They both seem to really be struggling in going back to real life

Question about Ron's time :confused:Do you think his final time included all his breaks or just the actual time he spent walking????

I have not voted for either yet, still trying to decide what to do....

I wondered that too. With just over 13 hours, wouldn't that mean he was walking a mile every half hour? AND FASTER WITH ALL THE BREAKS? I think that would be amazing fast for someone with all those ailments.

OK, who has already voted? I voted for Ron 10 times. Why? Because I can't stand him and he wants me to vote for Mike. I hope he gets the reverse psychology vote Ed got last year.
Robin M.

I voted twice so far for Ron. Why? Two reasons

1. Mike only has 20 pounds to lose to reach 50% weight loss, Ron has about 64 pounds - don't think he'll do it.

2. I want Tara to win

Um ... that's how it usually works. I guess I should have worded my question better. Did something SPECIAL happen to Mike to put him on the bottom? An injury? Midnight snacks? I expected Ron to be there but not Mike. Helen has so little weight to go (she fit into size 8 jeans last week!) I was kinda surprised to hear that she made it and Mike did not. I assumed there had to be extenuating circumstances involved.

He did have a hip injury. Not sure how long into the 30 days that occured. He wasn't allowed to run the marathon.

I believe that Mike injured his hip, not serious, however the doctors would not allow him to run the marathon.
It may have effected his "last chance workout" before the weigh in.

However when Jill visited him at home it was pretty clear he was suffering because he has alot of pain with his brother. Mike said he was "not fine" and miserable. So that plays into your momentum I am sure.

Overall I thought the players did quite well at home.

Yes Mike did have that injury so he could only walk the marathon on day 26.

Like someone else said he was focusing on Max more then himself. Jill told him to get his focus back to him and she would help train Max. Mike felt Max didn't get it yet and wasn't trying hard enough.

Bob came to see Ron and he took Ron, Mike and Max to subway and he told him he could get two sandwiches and still be in the 600 calorie range. This was after Max bring home what he would eat for lunch, a double cheeseburger, fries and a huge milkshake. Bob broke it down to 600 calories for him. Max told him that made sense and that he was tried of the other two talking about this stuff and wish they would shut up ( this was at subway)

Even if Mike did nothing wrong, it's not just about how you do, but about how the others do. Tara and Helen simply lost more weight. Mike could have done everything right and he still would have had a 50% chance of falling below the yellow line.

Helen seems small in statue and can probably push herself to lose 20-30 pounds. Tara can also go down to 120 and still be at a healthy weight.

Has anyone else gotten really bored with it this season? Watching it is boring - there is a challenge, Tara wins. Weigh-in comes around, and you know Tara is staying above the yellow line. I don't have the feeling that the final weigh-in is even going to be close.

I don't care if she wins; it just doesn't feel very exiting, since there doesn't seem to be much competition.

I thought it was boring this week, we know from previous seasons that when they all go home, especially the final 3 or 4, that it's "really hard to leave the safety of the ranch" blah blah blah... It was interesting to have the marathon but it was so boring to watch...

I think Ron and Mike really played the game more than anyone else, I don't care so much for Ron but I do believe his main goal was to help Mike. I hope the show has really helped changed their lifestyle and their family so they can all feel good and be healthy.

I think Tara has worked the hardest, Mike too so I hope one of them wins, Helen has surprised me though and I never thought she would make it to the end either. I can't wait for the finale when they bring everyone else back, that's my favorite part!

I fast forward.:lmao:

I don't find it boring however I do find it scripted and staged to a level that is crap.

Forcing the trainers and contestants to hawk products and then pretending to "go thru their eating day with Bob", which was another complete farce to hawk the protein powder is just too much.

It is like a giant commercial.:headache:

They said that the viewers will get to vote someone in for the next season. I hope that Max is one of the options, I'd love to see how he would do on his own. I seem to remember hearing something about him not being old enough, though. I am assuming that the people are probably people we know, otherwise why would we really care?

I haven't gotten bored, as much as disenchanted. The product placement is just too much. And there seems to be more "staged" segments than before.

It started w/ the guy going home and the producers faking the marathon, and has just went downhill from there. The taped day of food the other week was just ridulous. And then Helen, and Tara trying to act when they were trying on their goal outfits. Then Helen and her cleaning out the closet and trying to sound genuine. Just sets me the wrong way.

I don't know if I will watch next time.:upsidedow

I would imagine that is why the finale is 3 hours. Some of that time we will get to know them. I remember reading that Max isn't old enough. In a way it stinks that he is not, but then again, maybe it would be better for him to find a trainer and do it on his own. I think it would be hard to come on TV, and try to do as well as his brother has done. That's a lot for someone so young.

Funny that you said that. I talk to Heba today and she said the same thing. However, it's NBC that will make the finial decision on who they want to win. They edit the show so much it's crazy in the end. She leaves Sunday for BL finials. They will start a new season the next day (Wednesday). She told me that they can move those fat people in and send them out skinny fast! She's trying to find a grocery store chain that will work with her on her kid snack program. She has gained some weight back. The night of the finials she was a size 6/8 and she's now in a size 12. She is a tall person and I think she looks better at a size 12, she was too thin before. Heba and Ed has been trying to help Daniel but with his age and not having good support he's still big and you will see that Tuesday night. But they started working with him late and hope that maybe NBC would give him another try with Mike's brother.
