I am a renter. Have rented last two years at BCV and BWV One bedrooms. LOVED them both.

Wanting to try the POLY now, but no DVC available??

Is my only option to move into, dare I say it, a regular hotel room at $350 a night? OR they do have one bedrooms but at like $800 a night.

Meanwhile I can go back and stay at a DVC for what under $400 a night on rented points with the bigger space

How can you ever go back?

A. Either pay the $800 a night at the POLY

B. Back to a regular hotel room...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

C. Stick with DVC

I am "trapped" arent I?

We decided last minute to go to Disney for New Years. Couldn't get a DVC resort with our points, so just paid cash (ouch) for the Contemporary. Had a blast, but decided never again will we stay in a hotel room with the four of us, DD is 15 and DS is 8, it was horrible!! We are so spoiled having DVC, we have 300 points and usually just do one trip a year. Heading down for February break for 6 nights, staying in a 2BR at the VWL, for just the 4 of us!! It's part of the whole Disney vacation having all that room!!!!

There is no DVC Poly. Poly has 1BR suites (which are actually smaller than DVC 1BRs, and do not have full kitchens or W/D) and though I do not know current rate, your $800 a night through Disney may be correct or it could be an underestimate. DVC members can use points to exchange into Poly, but point cost is very high, a $95 exchange fee applies, and the member cannot rent that to another.
