Big Winter Storm coming . . .

Yuck, you can drive up and pick up my snow LOL! Of course up here it depends on which news channel you watch. Kare 11 said the heavy stuff would be north of the metro, channel 9 said it was going south. Who knows?!?!

yeah i can't stand snow, either. it's cold and wet and only causes accidents and power outages. and it only looks nice for a few hours, then everyone starts driving around or walking on it and it turns black and looks disgusting and dirty and trashy.

...can you tell i really can't stand winter? i really want to move south, i could care less if i ever saw snow again.

Can everyone post back tomorrow whats going on in their neck of the woods? I think they will be wrong about this one but you never know by us! (That darn lake keeps them guessing so they assume the worst!)

I'm thinking they are wrong too. Maybe it's just wishful thinking though!

i don't ski. i don't do anything in the winter, actually. it's always too cold. hey i didn't ASK to be born here! lol. that's why i said, i want to try and go south eventually.

we get the worst snow. we get regular snow AND lake effect snow, it's horrible.

I sure do not miss the ice and snow! We are looking at a cold spell coming in toward the middle of next week. The high will drop down in the lower 70s.

Here in Creston, we are expecting snow, then freezing rain and sleet, then rain that will turn back into freezing rain and snow by Sunday morning.

But you know Iowa...that could ALL change. I wouldn't be surprised if we woke up to 60 degrees and sunny!!

i think most of the country is in for a storm this weekend, to tell you the truth.

all of Western New York is under a Winter Storm Watch until tomorrow. they're calling for rain, freezing rain, snow, sleet, and ice.

We're just in a cold snap - we're getting it from the freezing Canadian temperatures. No rain yet (we need it) but SoCal looks like it's getting hit with the rain.

It was 36 degrees at 7 this morning - I don't even know what the overnight lows are.

Good grief it sucks being us (Iowans). DH and I purchased our weekly groceries tonight of which we usually do on Sunday mornings. Hy-Vee was VERY BUSY, but we knew it would be. Now all I need to do is run to our local $ Store to get batteries and candles just in case. We had a very nasty ice storm last year and I think that we have all learned from that situation. According to the NWS it sounds like downright nasty ice with winds 25-35 mph. That makes for galloping electric lines and power outages.

Good grief it sucks being us (Iowans). DH and I purchased our weekly groceries tonight of which we usually do on Sunday mornings. Hy-Vee was VERY BUSY, but we knew it would be. Now all I need to do is run to our local $ Store to get batteries and candles just in case. We had a very nasty ice storm last year and I think that we have all learned from that situation. I just realized we have next to no milk in the house & I need a birthday gift for a party tomorrow, which means we have to go out in the morning to the store... I really hope people don't panic like back home and buy up all the staples you're supposed to have in your house in the first place! I just coincidentally am running out of these things, but our snow isn't coming until Sunday afternoon, but we're leaving to ski/board tomorrow night, maybe I should play it smart & go to an off the beaten path variety store for the milk.....
