Big warning for those considering Mission Space

Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed that Disney would create a ride that requires you to stare straight ahead at all times or else you will be sick. That's just ridiculous! This seems to be more than just a motion sickeness problem. It seems like EVERYONE will be sick on this ride unless you stare straight ahead, regardless if you suffer from motion sickness or not. I expect a bit more from Disney.

Basically, you are supposed to feel as though you are really on a rocket to Mars... in order for this to work, you need to look at the screen in front of you, as that is where the storyline is being played out. You loose the entire effect by looking around and yes, you will run the risk of getting dizzy, due to the centrifuge type of ride mechanism... but believe me, it really isn't any different a feeling then being on the teacups with someone who spins them unmercifully while you try to look around you, instead of straight ahead, and I don't see anyone saying that Disney shouldn't have Teacups in the Magic Kingdom.

If you believe this ride is not for you, then by all means, don't ride it, but please don't put it down as something that is not up to Disney's Standards. Believe me, it is TRULY one of the best examples of attractions that are up to Disney Standards in every way, from storyline, to education, to imagination, and finally to engineering. Until you have tried it, please don't knock it!
