I would advise that if you have two able drivers, you are better off renting 2 smaller vehicles. It will probably cost less, and it will give you much more luggage space and greater flexibility. Really large vehicles often have a mileage charge, too.
Big vans have a rough ride and can be very dangerous to drive when fully loaded, especially if you are not used to driving one. That goes double if the road is unfamiliar.
PS: I just noticed the part about Hartford. Did you mean CT?! If so, I'd look into renting an RV instead. Driving a standard 11-passenger van that far will be a nightmare; the suspension on those things is uniformly awful. Whatever you get, be careful of possible restrictions re: how far from the rental station you are allowed to take them, you could get hit with a huge penalty if you violate any rules of that sort.
