Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

My oldest son and I love this ride!
It makes my DH queasy, but it's perfect because youngest DS is scared of this ride...so they can wait this one out together ;).

This is probably my favorite ride in the Magic Kingdom. It isn't much of a thrill ride (as mentioned before) but still something that my whole family can enjoy. Plus, it isn't a kitty ride, it has some kick (literally) to it.

We are roller coaster junkies. It doesn't matter how fast, how high, or how scary a roller coaster is, we will do it. While BTMRR is tame in comparison to others we've done, we absolutely love it!! The theming is amazing, and the ride brings back so many great memories. It was my very first roller coaster (I rode it with my dad in 1984), and my son's 2nd coaster (he rode it with me at the age of 4 in 2002). We have ridden it many times at night with the fireworks exploding in the sky, which is a really awesome experience!

Quin, you could be me lol except i will ride SM. The only time you are up high is the second before the drop and the drop is over before you can get a scream out.( not trying to convince you but letting you know it is doable from someone who shares the same family position [ sunglass/bag holder-er lol] and of the same opinion of rollercoasters )

To OP,
that is the same reason why i will ride BTMR, it doesn't leave the ground. lol
thank you for posting your photos, now i can see what i'm not seeing when i ride. I admit sometimes my eyes are closed lol.

BTMRR is the family favorite as well. My DD9's absolute favorite ride whatsoever!

We hope to ride Splash this year. She always says no but I may have her talked into it. She ride Space for the 1st time in March and while it was not her favorite she said she would do it again.

I'm not a roller coaster person either, but love Space Mtn and BTMRR because they are fairly tame with low top speeds.

My DH, DS and I can only ride this rollercoaster. All others make us sick. I think it is because you don't leave your seat. That terrifies me. It is not very tall for my DH who hates heights. It also has good theming which helps to calm nerves going up the big hill. We rode it twice for the first time this past June and loved it and wished we could do it again and again. When I was a teen I could ride anything and loved them all. My favorite times were when they weren't busy and let you stay on to go again and again.

BTMRR is probably our family's favorite ride in all of Disney. We ride it multiple times on each visit to the Magic Kingdom and are especially thrilled when the ride is a walk on. We always request the back row, and the experience of hearing our kids laugh hysterically makes each ride more fun the the last. However, our best memory happened during Christmas 2010 after we'd been riding several times in a row. On what would turn out to be our last spin of the night, the train exited the cave into a complete downpour! The entire train exploded in a fit of screams and laughter. It was priceless!

Big Thunder Mountain is the only roller coaster that I ride. I love it.
