Big Thunder Mountain (Closed in May)

I'm just curious as if anyone thinks or knows whether BTM will be closed in to June?

We went once before about this time of year and it gutted us that BTM was closed and seemed to really limit our "thrill" factor of DLP, our first day is the 16th June and I can see that BTM is closed up to the end of May.. just worried they may extend that.

They are usually pretty strict with their dates and do open again when they are intended to open again.

I just read BTM is closed untill May 31st.
So it should re-open again on June 1st.

Out of my own experience, I've never seen a ride still being closed after the announced opening date.

Disney themselves might change it (they changed Pirates once or twice or heard).
It should be on their website somewhere, I think the French version? But it won't let me switch from Belgium the France, so can't find it.

Me too.....it was closed the whole time of one of our trips (was scheduled close....announced after we booked)....as it is our favorite ride we were so disappointed! Fingers crossed they dont extend closure!

That would be a bummer for us, too. It probably depends on what is being done to it. A cosmetic rehab would be pretty easy to keep on schedule. If it is some kind of mechanical or electronic upgrade, who knows what could happen. I'm sure Disney wants to stay on schedule even more than we do. I can just imagine how that kind of delay dominoes to so many other projects.

Hmm, I'm now reading on the Dutch board that first it was untill May 31st, and now the person is saying probably untill June 14th

Actually gutted it's going to make my trip feel a bit it's my first ever time at DLP and I was looking forward to this as its one I've been on in America. No chance I can reschedule either. What a load of rubbish

I know exactly how you feel. It is closed for our trip in May andit really has put a downer on things - it is our absolute number 1 favourite thing in DLP - i am really sad about this too

Oh, I am so sorry for you all as I love this ride too and was pretty fed up when it kept being closed for technical reasons this last week. I was lucky in that it was open in between and we got to ride it 3 times over 5 days (well down on our record!). It got stuck going up the hill on one evening and I believe the riders had to be rescued! It was then closed down until the park shut. :-(

Perhaps it needs a big overhaul then?

I remember it going down when I was there on Monday, hadn't realised that it was a recurring problem! When we did get to ride it there was a lot of noise at the lift hills (we weren't sure if this was a sound effect or if it was just being cranky)...

When we were there a few weeks back it seemed to be constantly broken! On our first day people had to be rescued from the hill by PM. Then on every other day bar one it was down when we wanted to go on! So we only got one go on it in 5 days!

Probably just as well its closing then!Hopefully that will sort out any problems and it will be running perfectly when we are back in October (this time in Castle Club so with having the VIP pass we really will be trying to get on BTM at least 10 times a day! )

I feel your pain as it was closed for the entirety of one of our trips except our first evening and it was amazing how much we missed our daily fix on there! We tried to cram as many rides as we could into that first evening!

It's official closed June 1 to 14! Does that mean it reopens on 14? If so I will at least get to ride it on my last day! Fingers crossed!

If it states it's closed 1st - 14th, these dates are inclusive so it will reopen on the 15th.

So Pinocchio, Dumbo and BTM all closed when we are there the 1st week of June.

Perils of going outside peak season I suppose, not sure how to tell that to my boy.
