Big Thunder Mountain (Closed in May)

So Pinocchio, Dumbo and BTM all closed when we are there the 1st week of June. :sad1:

Perils of going outside peak season I suppose, not sure how to tell that to my boy.

Feel your pain.....just told my daughter!

we are also going first week in June and was looking forward to btm as never got to go on it last time :-(

You are actually kidding? Dumbo closed too?! That was my second ride I wanted to go on. I want to cancel, not excited at all now :(

According to dlrpmagic website all 3 are closed first week in June.

BTM is sad for us - only got to ride once I August 2011 and queues even for fast pass prevented us rudibg jn September 2012. First time the whole family are going late May and yet again we miss out. But im ok with it, my nearly 9 year old is sad but she said tall enough for other things - but Nanny will be happy as she doesn't have to find an excuse not to ride it!
I agree is a bad time to refurb it t, but the weather has obviously put back the schedule. And we all know how notorious BTM is for things "happening" to it so I'd prefer they did it asap rather than wait!!!

I just think that part of the park, even if you don't ride it, relies on BTM just to create the finished article & atmosphere.
If it's closed the area just isn't the same.

I do agree with this. On our last trip Phantom Manor was closed and BTM was out of action for a large portion of the time, so this left Frontierland being fairly redundant. :worried:

i'm at least happy that I know about it in advance and have had time to get over the dissapointment! At least it it (in theory) going to be open for our first afternoon and hopefully we will get to ride it a few times. At least my sons new favourite ride is RC Racer now - it would have been a nightmare if that was closed! Oh well, as long as we get decent weather I'm sure we will still have a fab time. And I keep telling myself that we are lucky to be able to go to DLP at all - there are millions of families who could not afford it - guess we just have to put things into perspective sometimes
