Big runDisney announcement coming in April

Maybe its a 27.5 mile race? I just the average of all the numbers, got 44.25, took that as kilometers to get 27.5 miles. :confused3

This is all frustrating, but soon enough we will all know and look back after the announcement and say, "I still don't get what the clue meant."

Have to say that Ovo was one of the weirdest ones I have seen; but one of the more entertaining at the same time.

You should volunteer rather than watch. Being closer to the action could increase the curiosity.

Ok, I don't even have a far-fetched idea for this new clue...nothing. oh well!

I enjoyed Ovo...and bugs TOTALLY freak me out, so I was a little concerned that the whole thing was going to creep me out, but we had a good time. Corteo is still my favorite though.

I"ll have to look into volunteering at the Iron man...I'm sure that would be fun!

The numbers left to make bingo are 47 and 21. 47-21 = 26? So a full?

I literally laughed out loud at the smashing-the-computer smiley, though.

Hope the mouse is paying attention.......

The shiny wore off the new event.

I get what they are doing but I have to agree that it was dragged on too long. A clue a day would have been cool. The clues should also be less vague so we can actually guess with reasonable certainty the race details. These are the kind of clues that seem like they won't tell us anything until we already know the event and that is weak. After just a few good clues we should be able to make some reasonably certain predictions.

By the 50% mark the answer should be understandable, by 60-70% confirmed. We will see maybe tomorow, assuming the UCONN IT students do not flame the site overnight.

I still think it's fun.

I'm with you on this one. No matter how Disney advertises this new event, it will be filled to capacity due to the location, branding and the fact that it's the inaugural.

If it is indeed a triathlon, then I'd guess the bingo marks would indicate the distances in kilometres for each event.

2 kilometres = 1.24274238 miles swim
72.5 kilometres = 45.0494114 miles bike
30 kilometers = 18.6411358 miles run

I double checked triathlon distance charts and the proposed distances are a cross between an international distance and long distance event.

I'm grasping at straws at this point, but the distances are probably meant to help accommodate the resources at WDW. I haven't been to DL so I don't know if it could even work there.

I have no idea how the rest of the clues play in. I tried adding and subtracting #'s 24-26 with the bingo marks but I couldn't work it out. They're not even on the playing board, making it even more confusing. I also don't have facebook at the moment so I'm only working on any clues that were posted in this thread.

Lastly, I tossed "the answer lies within these words" into www.wordsmith.org/anagram to see what else can be made, but I got 51725 different phrases and I don't feel like going through all of them.

totally agree.

A clue every-other day would have even been better. They posted on Saturday and it's now Tuesday and we haven't had another clue.

I still think there are some fun elements to the game, but I wish they would have executed it better.

Yeah, I just think the clues should have been a little better. LOST did a similar fan interactive game one summer, and the clues were difficult, but gettable.

There was a photo of a pool posted yesterday or maybe the day before on the runDisney facebook page. It seems to be gone now. Wonder what that was about?
I hope it's not a tri w/ swim portion in a pool :headache:
I'm crossing my fingers for a WDW running race < 26.2 mi.

I didn't get the pool thing, either. I figured maybe someone posted it to the runDisney acct and meant to post it to their own acct?

Unless it means the race is in Hawaii at the new DVC, which I don't really see happening. And, the clues are only in the widget. So, I'm back to being confused, lol.

I think I have the dates. April 14 and 15th. If you add 2, 30, 72=104, and if you add 2, 30, 73 you get 105. If you look the Julian calendar 104 and 105 is April 14th and April 15th. In 2012 they are a Saturday and Sunday. Makes perfect sense to me. Just like all the other clues, right? Do you think it is too hot at that time of year? What do you think?

That is actually the best analysis of the bingo clue yet.

you need to take a break from these clues!

The worst thing about those dates would be they yet again fall during Peak season and parks are packed and hotels are way too pricey :confused3
When are the hotels not booked up? I'd think that would be when the event would be scheduled.

I'm starting to think maybe DL is going to get a Full?

I think DL getting a full is laughable. Hardly any of their HALF takes place on property.

April 14 and 15 is probably right, considering that easter isn't until almost May next year.

I'm still of the mind that not every little thing posted on their FB page (not the clue one, the general one) has to do with the new race. As I predicted, I have seen people referring to other people's guesses as "This was posted on the site, so I think it means..."

I'm just ready for it to be over.
