Has anyone eaten here? Is it hard to get into as it looks like they don't take reservations? We have friends arriving on our first day at the BCV and they don't have park passes until the next day. I thought they could meet us somewhere in the BC/BW area and we could eat there. I haven't tried this place but the menu looks good.

It's not a Disney restaurant and they haven't released tables to Disney for booking. Some have called the restaurant directly and lately they're being told "you don't need a reservation." I don't recall ever seeing it crowded.

We have eaten here twice for lunch and loved it both times. We were only one of a few tables both times. My husband loves the beer flights and I found a blackberry margarita that was incredible! The food is very good. I usually get the turkey sandwich with bacon added and my husband enjoys the bacon cheeseburger. We have enjoyed the food and service and will go back!

We have been here for dinner. It's good . I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Hi! We stay at the epcot area all the time so we usually eat there at least once a trip.Cheeseburger, meatloaf and of course the beer is good,My DW has tried other selections with out any complaints:confused3 and there is outside seating which adds a nice touch to the evening.I say go to the Big River Grille or ESPN and enjoy:thumbsup2:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We have eaten there and we enjoy it. I don't believe they take reservations, but it wasn't an issue when we were there anyway. We like it because there are lots of options. Reasonably priced (considering it's in Disney). ESPN is good too.

We ate an early dinner there over spring break (week before Easter) and the place had maybe 20 diners TOTAL. We walked up at 5pm and were seated outside immediately. Food was average. Beer was good!!! If you eat here, don't order anything exotic. Keep it simple and the food will not disappoint.

My daughter and I ate there during our trip in summer 06. It was fairly crowded for dinner, but not so that we had a long wait. The beer is good. The food is not haute cuisine, but definitely good quality and well-prepared. (I've also eaten at the one in Nashville a couple of times when I am down there.) I think it is a good mid-level, moderate price restaurant and will probably eat there once during my next visit to Disney.

I called the restaurant directly and they do take your name. It's call ahead seating so they told me when I get there, they just move your name to the top. Not sure if it's necessary or not, but I figured it couldn't hurt. We're eating at Big River Grill on our first night too, staying at BCV as well!

Its a good place! Not a GREAT place but a good place to eat to use a DDP sit down meal if you're out of ideas.

Good steak...amazzzinggg beer! love the atmosphere on the boardwalk.

Good for a beer and a burger, and that's about it.

Besides being 'off' the WDW dining system, there is a reason it is not that crowded.....

I agree with a previous poster it is not haute cuisine. But if you go know it is good "Brew Pub" food I think you will enjoy it.
I think it would be a fun place to meet friends for dinner.
Enjoy your trip

I thought it was part of the Dining Plan? Does it not count as a TS? What about ESPN? We are trying to decide between the two for our upcoming trip.

'Off' the system means it does not take ADR's through WDW dining, or in some cases, at all.

We were on the DxDDP this past Dec and ate at Big River Grille. It is one credit. We had called the restaurant directly and made an ADR, but didn't need it. Food was pretty good. We had beef nachos, jalapeno spinach dip, artichoke/crab dip, ribs, steak/shrimp combo, cheesecake, chocolate confusion, strawberry lemonade, raspberry iced tea, and a beer flight. The servings were huge! We should have shared, but didn't know and had maybe half the food left. I loved the dips, my mom loved the ribs, and my husband loved the beer.:rotfl:

ESPN is also one credit on the DDP. What the previous poster meant is that you can not make an ADR for Big River Grille through Disney. You must call them directly at 407-560-0253 or else go as a walk up.

If you are going there for beer - great. For food - no so much. If you are looking for casual atmosphere, try ESPN. You can make reservations for the restaurant part or just sit at the bar, first come first serve.

The food is fine, pretty much the same quality as ESPN. You can usually get in on short notice. It's a little loud and crowded inside, if not in summer try a table outside. The food is fine, nothing exceptional and it's reasonably priced for the Disney area. Yes, they do have good beer. Steaks were fine, the mahi-mahi was cooked to order, yes we go back from time to time. We don't always look or want to pay for exceptional, sometimes you just want OK and the Big River Grill is just that.

Had a lack-luster dining experience there years ago (dirty floors/tables, slow service, cold food) and then decided to give it another try last year....still nothing to write home about. It was just ok. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.

There was only one time we were to BRG and it was packed to the gills. It was earlier this year, but don't recall exactly when. Maybe a few months ago.
They were holding a beer tapping that night. And we have gone to those before without much crowd. Not the case this time.
It was crazy. And it was cold outside, so everyone was crammed in.
Then to top it off there was a large party in the middle room that took up nearly the entire room. They must have had 30 at their table.

I have the passport at BRG, which means fotl seating. Even with that at almost an hour wait we just left and ate in WS. All I was really wanting was beer cheese soup and salad. And after awhile it just was not worth it.

NORMALLY, it is easy to get in and served. That night was their exception to all our other BRG experiences. Even the staff seemed fed up and unhappy.

I will say that we also ate at ESPN Zone for the first time for lunch a few months back. (During ESPN Weekend -- although we were there on a Thursday or Friday). I am not a sports bar person, but we both walked out very happy. And we both thought ESPN Zone is better than BRG.

For me, the beer cheese soup is the draw at BRG. I am not a beer drinker, and I really like their soup. Funny, I think beer smells terrible. But when cooking with it, I think it adds a lot of good flavor. :confused3
