Big River Grille?

No reservations here. But we really don't notice a line for it. Or if there is, we remark that it must be extremely crowded that week. For lunch, it's not a problem at all.

Good beer, good burgers, meatloaf a sorry relic of what it once was, service nonchalant at best. Inside pretty drab, with all the "brewery" odor.

Well, this may be what I needed to hear! We haven't been since 1997 and we enjoyed it then, but I am an ADR kind of gal. Maybe we will do Kona cafe for dinner instead...

We stumbled upon the Big River Grille one day while trying to find our way to a bus after playing mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens one afternoon. We were hungry, hot and tired and I have to say it was a delightful meal...we were seated right away and I honestly don't remember what everyone else had (DDs probably had grilled cheese) but I had a barbecue pulled pork sandwich that was mighty tasty!
As for El Pirata y El Perico...well...we had wanted to try this CS for many, many trips and finally last year we were super surprised to find it open during our February trip...we almost danced through the line to order. We sat down feeling like we had scored a WDW prize (not everyone gets to eat here because it's open so rarely...and bit into stale taco shells. Yuck! It was one of the worst disappointments we've had yet at WDW...it didn't ruin our day and we still were happy to have had the chance, at least, to try it. If it's open when we go on Spring Break, then we will probably give it one more chance (DH is ) just because it is one of those rare opportunities.

After eating there last Wednesday, I would say that it is a passable experience, as in "pass it by". My cashew chicken salad was ok, service was adequate, but the interior lacks any sense of style, and table are crammed in the tiny space however they'll fit. Add in the stale beer-ish odor and dirty floors, and I wish we had gone to spoodles instead.
