My dad is coming with us in May, and I thought he might like a tour of the brewery (he home brews). Does anyone know if they have tours, formal or informal... I've looked everywhere and I don't see it mentioned.

Thanks!

Are you refering to the BW brewery? If so it is a very small dining area with the majority of it's seating out on the boardwalk. I know they have specialty brews, but as far as being an actual brewery, it is not, simply a nifty name for a sandwich and brew dining option at BW. I hope this helps.

I believe the brewery equipment is visible from the dining area and yes, they do brew beer there. As far as tours, it's a pretty small brewhouse anyway but it wouldn't hurt to ask if they'd show you around! Have one for me!

Yes, they do brew beer there - and yes you can see it from the dining area. I know it's a small place but I think my dad would really get a kick out of talking with the brewmaster. I was just wondering if there was an "official" tour. If not we'll just stop in and ask. Thanks!

I"m wondering the same things you are Jenny. We're going to be there in May and I'm also a homebrewer. I'd like to know a lot of things about this place, in fact, I should bump my other thread.

Does anyone know if they offer samplers?? The small glasses of their different brews??? Do they have a beer menu you can look at online to see what their brewing when you go??? :drinking1

Yes, they do have a sampler. I found this thread the other day while trying to find out more about this restaurant. I showed my dad the picture and, well, now he's REALLY excited to come to WDW with us, lol. :drinking1 Here's the thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=853404

I'm not sure of the online menu... hmmm...

Do yourself (and your father) a favor and stay away from Big River. Way overpriced for a non-Disney restaurant. Food was OK but the inside needs a thorough cleaning and updating. Way too many great places in the Boardwalk area to eat to waste time and money at Big River.

Thanks for the warning wdwgoofeeee :) We've actually eaten there before and had a great meal. This was a couple of years ago - perhaps that's changed? Really though, we wouldn't be going for the food. Just the beer.
