Big River Grille and Brew Works

We will be there in November and thought we would check out the Boardwalk area, not having been there before. Has anyone eaten lately at the Big River Grill?

Recommendations yay or nay??????

I've been there several times for beer (great selection) and the delicious pretzels, but as far as meals go... well, that was a big let down. It just wasn't particularly good. Worse, twice I had waiters who didn't write down the order, joking that they do this all day and have great memories, only to have the orders screwed up. Not once, but twice! I've heard a lot of other pepole say they like the place, but personally, I don't think I'll be going there for anything more complicated than a pretzel.

We did a late lunch one afternoon and had a pretty good meal. So we went back on a later trip and had dinner. It was a nightmare. The hostess never seated us, even though we stayed less than 50 feet from the check-in stand. We had a light up pager that never went off. She argued with my husband about paging us for our table. Then when they seated us, the table was dirty from the last guests and it took forever to clean it. The server was obnoxious and brought our food. My husband's meatloaf was frozen in the middle and burned on the outside. When he complained, the manager came over and, basically, told my husband that they didn't make any mistakes. It was horrid. Never again. This place is not run by Disney. It was on par with our Rainforest Cafe nightmare dinner at DTD.

I just ate there a week ago and we enjoyed it very much. DS had the mahi mahi which he said was very good and I had one of my favorites: the meat loaf which was as good as always. The service was just fine. I stay at an Epcot resort 99% of the time I am at WDW so we eat at Big River quite often. It is not our favorite WDW restaurant but we find it a very convenient place for a lunch or dinner and have never had a bad meal or service.

I Discovered this place in Nov. of last year with another DIS-er Christine(Mickey's Sunshine). I LOVED the Meatloaf, and the Beer, both were GREAT!

If the weather is good, eat outside. It's a much nicer experience there, I think. One of the best (and most memorable) meals I've ever had was sitting out on the BoardWalk at Big River with my dear friends (whom I see less and less often, I'm afraid). We watched the fireworks from Epcot while we dined and were entertained by one of the most friendly CM's I've ever encountered in WDW.

We liked this place well enough. We had a party of 8 and they had trouble seating us. They ended up putting us at two separate tables with different servers. We didn't mind, we just put the kids at the other one. Eventually they got it squared away where we could have one server.
The food was basic and the kids liked theirs. The choice of beers was interesting. I tried a banana flavored beer which was quite strange! The other couple thought it a tad expensive but we think it is on par with all of Disney. All in all, we would probably go back again sometime.

Double Nay,

Unless you are having just a beer, or possibly eating outside for the view, I would say Nay. Feb '03 - Food okay, our server was terrible and she only had 3 tables (first Nay). The beer sampler was incomplete (the brew works ran out of a style), and the 'make-up' beer sample was never brought out, as we were told it would be. When a brew pub runs out, and by early afternoon mind you, that is a second Nay.
Double Nay, especially with the many other possibilities close by.

we ate there last week for the first time and really enjoyed our meal. my husband said his cheeseburger was much much better than those at beaches and cream! i had the grilled chicken sandwich which was good too. the iced tea was great! LOL!!
