I remember the Big Red Boat. My parents had to rent a car to get the family to Cape Canaveral from the airport. We did a 4 day cruise 3 day Disney World Vacation. It was also the first time we stayed on property, and I've stayed on property ever since.
Also a funny story about those video dinning kiosks. We were in EPCOT near Germany and my parents got into a little argument (ya know the been in the park heat all day argument) and I wandered over to the big TV screen and started pushing buttons. By the time my parents came over and realized what I had done a person was taking our dining reservations. Its hard to agrue with a video screen talking at you. Ah fun memories!

I was on the BIG RED BOAT in 1988. I think we did the 3 day cruise and 4 in the parks. Of course back then I think it was just MK and Epcot...at least that is all I remember.

I think I have postcards of those somewhere. :lmao:

We did the "Big Red Boat" in 1996. My DD was 3. It was lots of fun, but our land package at Disney was much more fun. After that cruise, DH said he would never cruise again, and we haven't. I'm working on him for the podcast cruise 1.5, but I don't think it's going to happen. :sad2:

Yeah it was 1991 when my family went. I remember how small the cabins were. The food was pretty good, especially the midnight icecream bar was a blast. But you guys were right about the land package being a lot more fun, and the reason we never booked a cruise after that. Probably a lot has changed since then.

The Big Red Boat was the very first cruise DH and I experienced. We thought it was great fun (with the exception of the bunkbed in our cabin). I think it was Oct of '87.

That was my first cruise as well. I cruised with my sister and brother-in-law. While I've done other cruises, all on DCL, that was my sister's first and last cruise. As she found that she got seasick too easily to do any more cruises.

DH and I cruised on BRB on our honeymoon and this was our first cruise. We had a "suite" was actually a good size...nothing like DCL's suites, but it was a decent size room. For those familiar with the Oceanic, it was the room with the big long windows that faced the hot tubs.
Also, after 7 Disney Cruises and 1 on NCL, we both agree the food and the service we got on BRB was the best of all our cruises.
