Big News?

The saddest part this whole mini-drama is the following.

Disney says this morning, "Tune in at 1 p.m. to find out whose dreams are coming true."

At 1 p.m. we see celebrities, and little else.

So the celebrities dreams are coming true. Well, that's good to know, Scarlett has been a bit down on her luck lately, what with all those good looks and millions of dollars.

We get to see celebrities and their dreams, when in fact Disney is a place we all escape to in an effort to get-away from the celebrity driven world. Now Disney puts us right back there.

Excellent work buy the marketing gurus on this one.

Man, oh man.

I couldn't have said that any better. :thumbsup2

wait, it keeps going back to the countdown page and then back. Maybe, just maybe there is supposed to be more.
I'm being too optimistic aren't I?

Where is the countdown page? I dont see it?

You CAN click on the pictures and it does bring up some info at the bottom but really it doesn't tell you anything.

It's just a big advertisement to go visit Disney.

It boils down to telling you about the picture and how you can make your own dreams come true by visiting Disney. :lmao:

Still no BIG announcement. Even if I wasn't hanging around the boards, I wouldn't consider this a big announcement if I just happened to see it on Yahoo (and actually wouldn't even know to click on the pictures if I didn't read it here by someone else, so thought maybe I should click all 3 & see what comes up!)

Basically I really think the announcement was that they were using stars in a big new ad campaign. :lmao:

Does ANYONE care??

The ad campaign isn't thrilling but the new Toy Story ride sounds cool. Sounds like a cross between Universals Spiderman and Men in Black, both incredible rides. But now we have to wait till 2008......waaaa! ;)

Actually, I think the big announcement was for some new huge promo they are running....what's that called? Year of A Million Jokes? Year of a Million Ad Campaigns? Oh no, wait...here it is, it's called "Year Of A Million Dreams". Wonder what in the world that could be about?
:confused3

:lmao:

Well, they could have at least done more characters/celebrities. Like Snow White or Alladin and Jasmine. That would have been pretty cool if it wasn't just those three.

I have decided I am going to apply for one of the dream jobs if they will let us pick our own titles...I'm gonna be Vice President of Voice of Reason so this kind of crud doesn't happen again. I would have sat in the boardroom when this was being pitched as an ad and said..."Have you lost your everlovin' mind?" No one likes being duped, even Mickey fanatics!

I still dont think that really qualifies as a "big announcement".

It amazes me how upset some people seem by this. First off, this really wasn't a huge surprise to me... it's not the first time Disney's done something like this. Secondly, why would you let an announcement from Disney stop your life? I don't get that... I slept like a baby last night personally, wandered in about 1:30, saw what it was, and then read this thread in amazement. I'm just completely in awe here!

I suppose the good news is that it is not an update of what Paris Hilton might be doing at 1pm:rotfl2:

Don't you just love some people's idea of what big news it:rotfl: :rotfl:

All I got out of this (besides seeing Oliver Platt, whom I LOVE) is a crashing computer when I decided to play with the Disney Links thing.

When I got back to my computer from lunch I was pretty intigued to see the "BIG" news ... although I find Scarlett to be just beautiful as Cinderella, I dont think this is really "BIG" news??? :confused3

I just installed it too and I am very quickly uninstalling it. It's very bad.

Just when you think it can't be worse...
WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These stars will be in the new real life version of Alice in Winderland and Cinderella.
AAAAHHHH...the horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(just kidding!!)
