Big Love Series Finale

Not a "OMG it was amazing" reaction but it was definitely a good ending to the series.

I was blown away by the ending. Ok I cried...it just hit home having lost my dad and just always like to think he is near as well. At the end when they showed Bill sitting at table.

Back to show, who was the lady in the back of church from many many years ago? I remember her on a previous episode. Is that a relative to him and Lois?

Gonna miss this show!

Yep I think you are right. But was quite surprised it was the neighbor. It did answer quite a bit. Was surprised about Lois and Frank, and how he kept making references to Bill being born.

They did a good job tying up the loose ends. Nicki wanted and I think craved family, but didn't know how.

Now onward to the next HBO series with James Gandolfino, and Diane Lane..

It was Emma Smith. From what I understand, she founded the church that Barb was going to. In the end, she helped Bill understand that the religion isn't all about the patriarch.

Yes, which is why Bill asked Barb to give him the blessing. It was great that barb was finally head of the church he built. I wish we knew what happened to the neighbor and his wife. I felt so bad when she came in and told Marge that he was off the deep end. I felt he was going to pull a "American Beauty" but then i realized he just hated Bill.

I loved that in the last few episodes Frank and Lois were in love and Frank was tender instead of crazy. Who would have guessed Frank would do the right thing? I really liked that Bill thought of Barb as he was dying. I loved hating Nikki and I'm going to miss her conflicted character. I didn't think it was particularly believable that she and her daughter mended fences nor that Ben and Heather were together but apparently that's what the writers wanted. No resolution for Nikki and Alby's mother...pretty strong character to leave her blowing in the wind.

It was subtle. In the very last scene, both of them were wearing wedding rings.

I guess it's just me. I didn't like the ending at all.
To me, it felt like a quick fix to resolve all those open questions. It seemed the writers didn't want to deal will all the issues and questions, so just kill Bill.
It was just easier to kill Bill and not have to answer to loads of questions, even his illegit baby with Ana. Oh well. I did enjoy the show and will miss it.
The BEST finale was 6 Feet Under. THAT was amazing and much thought was put into that!

I think it was a pretty good ending to a series. I think if they HAD tied up ALL the loose ends, it would be too contrived, so they went with the main ones.

As for Alby and his mother....I am pretty sure Alby got what was coming to him...last weeks episode we heard gunshots after he talked to the 'greeter' at the senate building, so I am thinking he killed him or at least tried to, and the fact he tried to kill Bill....he will be going away for awhile. I also think Juniper Creek is done, as many of the JC followers were at Bill's Easter service.

Ana and her baby are with her husband where ever it is they went (Russia?).

The neighbor, I imagine he went to jail (as the 3 wives saw him walking away after he shot Bill), or killed himself, and his wife probably went off the deep end, orwent back to live with family.


I loved that he looked at each wife, but then kept his focus on Barb, That was his 1st love, and despite their recent issues, he had said to Ben shortly before "Your mother and I will be ok"


Now I'm sad that Sun nights will have 1 less 'good' show on!

I think I love Nikki more than ever last night. She was vulnerable and honest about it in her Nikki way.

Bill had to die because it was the only way for Marge, Nicki and Barb to accomplish their dreams.

Sunday has lost a good show but True Blood will be back.

I guess I'm in the minority. I thought the ending was completely horrible. It was so random. I also felt that so many story lines were not resolved. The writing these past few seasons has been really sub par. I played it out to the end only because I've watched from the beginning, and I was very disappointed.

Agree.

In my opinion, one of the worst ever series finales. For such a great show, the writing talent really went off the deep end the last two seasons. I was really looking forward to a wonderful wrap-up to the story and it left me really empty.

I'm going to miss Sunday night with the Henricksons.

I didn't catch Heather and Bens wedding rings until I watched the show the second time. So he chose ONE wife, interesting. I also thought Barb was always his one true love, and he asked her for the blessing almost as telling her he approved FINALLY. He did say he built the church for her.

My question though did Frank in your opinion also give himself the injection? Irony how in the church when they talked about eternal family he locked eyes with Lois and then they both die on the same day.

It was also good to see Nicki daughter looking "normal" at the end. Meaning she gave up the clothes and the braid look.

But lastly DON'T like Margene with the pixie hair cut. just saying, ha...

i love Margenes hair She actually wore wigs the entire show because she wanted to have her own look.

I had the feeling that Ben might have multiple wives. Though he did say that he would do anything for Heather so maybe that meant giving up Polygamy.

For some reason I thought Frank only injected Lois because she died very quickly and he was talking to her the entire time UNLESS the third bottle was for him. I thought it was very touching that they both dies on the same day and that Frank told the story of her having Bill while she died.

Frank only injected Lois. I read earlier an interview with the writers who said that Frank did not die, but they realized that it could look ambiguous to the viewers.

I loved the finale, even though I was sad to see Bill go. I really couldn't think of a better way to end it because like someone else said, it allowed the wives to live their own lives.

I think they tied up as many loose ends as possible. We know they lost the store, Alby goes to jail, Bill's mom dies, Ben gets married, Sarah has a baby, the wives move on. My 2 unaswered questions were: What happens to Ana's baby and what happens to Joey and Wanda.

I'll miss Big Love, but it was time to move on after season 4. They really messed up with that season. In my eyes, they redeemed themselves this season though.

Now bring on naked Eric and True Blood!

I, too, felt the series took a nosedive in the 4th season. It really jumped the shark at that point. I lost interest after that, but watched it for lack of much else on Sunday nights. The writers redeemed it somewhat in season 5, I guess, but I thought the ending was unsatisfying. I think seasons 2 and 3 were the best.
