~ BIG LOVE on HBO ~ Season 5 ~ Winter 2011

Um, wrong thread darlin! lol!
When Bill finds out Ben is in Mexico and in danger he's going to blow a gasket!!!! I'm guessing that will be when he pulls out of the campaign. I was diggin' Barb signing the contract against Bill's wishes and the Casino Tribal leaders are gonna love her now too! What happened to the baby Sarah had last episode? Did I miss something or are they just glossing that whole thing over? I thought it was funny to see her hold up her hand and show the ring when 'whats'er name' says, "I hear you just got married." Pretty casual reaction or maybe a reaction from someone who is immature. Can you just imagine the national reaction if someone in politics were to announce that they were polygamists???? Crazy!
Sarah's husband came in on Bill and Barb yelling at Sarah to hand the baby back over to the tribe. Her DH took her aside and explained that they'd have their own baby one day and this baby was not it. She hugged him, cried, and agreed with him while her parents stood awestruck that he was able to talk her into giving the baby back when they couldn't make her do it.

Just watched the most recent episode last night.I love how Lois & Benny's relationship has grown. It was so sweet when Lois was singing "I'm with my favorite Grandson and I'm eating jumbo shrimp"....♥ that slow mo of them dancing scares me though, I don't want anything to happen to them or Jodean!!

Bill is such a hypocrite. He made the mistake of having sex with Ana before marriage (I'm not convinced that baby is his BTW), and when he's caught his excuse is, "I'm not perfect" That's it??!!:confused3 He gave Nicki & Margene so much grief. He annoys me more & more by the episode. :headache:

I was happy that he showed Dale some compassion though. I feel so sad about Dale! He seemed really sweet and I liked them showing his & Alby's relationship. I can't believe I'm starting to like Alby..:scared1: Lura is going to be in BIG trouble!!

I'm so bummed! I'm in Florida looking for an apartment so I'm staying in a motel. When I called to book one I specifically asked if they had HBO and they said yes. Well, they don't. Now I'll be missing 2 episodes and can't watch until I get home and catch them on demand. :guilty: Boooooooo.

No worries, phorsenough. I'm not sure last night's episodes was one of their best. Last week's left me speechless; this week's episode left me a little flat.

I'm beginning to wonder what the heck Margene's thinking. I'm about done with the whole Ana plot. It's so contrived and I wonder why the heck they brought her back.

The only one I found believeable in the whole "showdown at the Green's" plotline was Frank. I think all the characters overacted their scenes a little bit. And I totally didn't believe that one measly little swipe Lois took at the end did the amount of damage it appeared to do. It looked more like she was cutting his back rather than....hmmm...I don't want to spoil it for you.

The whole Adalene pregnant thing? What the heck is up with that? Wanda knows more than she's letting on. I think JJ's number is about up.

I was hoping this show would get better after last week's episode, but again I'm wondering about the quality of writers they have because they seem to be descending into reality show drama instead of good drama. We'll have to wait and see. They only have two episodes left to turn it around. Typically I'm bemoaning the loss of Big Love for another year when I see the whole "Only X episodes left!" advertisements. This time I was thinking, "Thank God this mess is almost over".

Yes, last night was pretty flat after last week's episode. I am not thrilled with the Ana plot either. It does nothing for me, lol.

I liked the episode. Sure some of it was a little unbelievable, but the whole show is that way.

I think JJ must be giving Adaleen hormones to make her think she's pregnant. Why, I don't know. I never thought Ana added anything to the storyline and I don't see the need to bring her back.

I have to wonder where all the littler kids are. They were never in the majority of an episode, but you did use to see them from time to time. Except for seeing Margene's baby in this episode, the younger boys haven't been seen much at all this year.

I noticed on the credits that the name of the actress who plays Cara Lynn is shown at the beginning of the show with all the regulars, while the actor who plays Ben is listed as a guest star. I wonder why that is?

Ooh, good thinking on the JJ/hormone thing, especially with his son as Adaleen's dr. I hadn't thought of that... especially since my sister is 24 years younger than me. I just figured older women have babies.

I like the new storyline with Margene marrying Ana's fiance. Margene has proven herself to be one smart cookie and being married to someone else will help when Bill blabs that he is a polygamist. At least her business will be safe. As for Ana's storyline, I guess that was a believable story to get her fiance introduced to the show... boring as it is.

I couldn't imagine being married to someone who would so openly lie to me like Bill lies to his wives, let alone have to deal with the infighting among others in my family... ala Barb telling Margene she could have a home office from which she could work.

I guess Barb is going to be bitten in the butt on the whole deal she made with Sissy Spacek's character. Amazingly, Bill was right on that one and I don't think he's right about much.

Why are those people picketing and threatening to blow up the casino? Is it because they are Mormans and they believe their religious ideals are being assaulted? I thought this was supposed to be billed as a Morman casino, complete with an ice cream bar. Do they even serve alcohol there? Don't Indian casinos also benefit the community in which they are placed? I know our Mohegan Sun casino benefits the communities it serves through tax breaks, jobs, etc. That's why the people who don't like casino gambling are ok with the idea of having one in their backyard.

I have to say I enjoyed this episode. I was aghast when Lois did what she did! Ack!
I wish it didn't the season didn't end in a few episodes. It feels like it's gone by too quick.

Ahhh it was good to see the Greens again. I still miss Roman stirring things up so the crazy Greens were pretty entertaining.

Once again...so many questions....and now we will have to wait.

I won't post spoilers for those on the West coast and those watchign the Oscars.....

We'll talk tomorrow!

a'la Dallas? LOL!!

Adele really floored me, though. I guess the ability to commit murder really runs in that family. :scared1:

It seemed the quickest means to an end. Burn 'em down!
Zeljko Ivanek, (JJ Walker) in my opinion, just looked tired and weary from this role and probably was happy to be done with it.

I've read on other message boards that Bill could not legally do what he did, and remain in office. Now that Alby is eating the wall paper, maybe Bill will take over Juniper Creek, and move the family over there.

If they do another season of Big Love, I'll watch, but the thrill is gone.

I hate to say it, but I agree that the thrill is gone. I do not like what they did with the story lines this season. I don't like Bill running for election, I don't like Alby going crazy, I don't Margene's story line either. This show may have "jumped the shark". Hopefully, they can turn things around if there is another season.

Can we pleeeeeze talk details, it's been a whole day!!!!! I'm dying to talk about it.
:) Pleeeeeeze!!?????

I think the red, white and blue outfits were hilarious!!!

Sure we can talk about it......I didn't even pick up on the red, white and blue outfits!!! LOL!!!!

I too am hoping it was just Barb's bad dream.

I LIKE crazy Alby....with who is parents are, genetic wise he is at a higher risk for mental illness, his obscure upbringing also plays a part in it....I like him crazy

Adeline.....she just killed her husband...WOW....and who's baby is she carrying? It's not hers!

This year certainly was lacking something...I do hope it comes back for at least 1 more year, at least to try and redeem itself.
