~ BIG LOVE on HBO ~ Season 5 ~ Winter 2011

I finally got to watch the show last night. I agree, the writers are making me absolutely HATE Bill. Something is very wrong when I like Alby more than Bill! :scared1:

Hard to believe, isn't it? Although I know Alby is going to make poor Dale suffer when they finally break up. He does have that photo on his cell phone, after all.

:lmao: I'm sure he will!! I'm not sure what happened- I used to HATE Alby! Now I find myself enjoying when he's on the show. :confused3

A lot happened last night. I don't understand why Bill put all that effort in winning over Sissy Spacek's character because of her connections and power and then did everything he could to make an enemy of her.

I liked when Margene said FU to Barb and both Nikki and Barb flinched. Bill is really pushing Barb into Tommy's arms with his behavior and his total dedication to his probably doomed political career.

I am waiting for Margene to pick up and leave - now that she has become a successful woman.

Bill's secret is about to be found out. (Again!)

Don confides in Bill that he's on board with Bill's political aspirations, because everything else in Don's life is kabluey and Bill must be doing something right.

Bill to Don: Blah-blah-blah so in conclusion, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and throw yourself under the bus.

Don: Righty-O!

This show is such a blown-out soap opera train-wreck, it's really too hard to look away.

I'm having a great time suspending my disbelief for an hour watching it.

Margene is a flirt and then some, for kissing Ben. So how will Barb explain what she is, when she ends up kissing Tommy? Is that what it's going to take for Barb to forgive Margie?

Love how Adeleen is weeping buckets to Nikki on the phone, then in front of JJ says they are quite an ideal match. (Which they probably are!)

Oh.....My...Goodness.....

for all you west coasters, that is all I will say, we can all discuss tomorrow!

Oh..........My............Word!! Great epi. My fab line of the night "get your rag tag family back home"....:lmao:

Wow! THAT was a edge sitter, jaw dropper...will JJ live to see another day? "Sweet Adeleine?!!!!" OMG!

I had to tape it and can hopefully watch it today or tomorrow.

OMG! :scared1: I can't believe last night's episode! I actually stayed up late to watch it again, something I've rarely done this season.

Anyone else recognize Bill's "big house" as being a twin to the big house on the compound? Am I the only one who thinks Bill's trying to build his own compound and take his rightful place as prophet since his grandfather was the prophet before Roman killed him?

And poor Alby! :guilty: I know he's an evil, twisted man, but so's his sister. I felt very sorry for him. Lura's a witch.

I didn't like Sissy Spacek's character, but I'm warming up to her a little. Let's see if she turns out to be a snake in the grass.

I was also worried about Lois being killed by the Greens, but after watching the previews again I'm thinking it's going to be the Mexican Bird merchant who takes the bullet. At least I hope that's what's going to happen.

Holly crap! So much was packed into last night's episode. What a jaw dropper! :scared1:

I like that Bill's wives are finally "growing a pair". None of them are stupid, yet Bill treats them like his chattle instead of treating them like thinking adults.

Good for Barb in signing the paperwork. Bill was stupid to make her a board member if he didn't want her to be able to make decisions. Margene is right about waiting to let their secret out. I wish she'd get out before he ruins her career along with his.

I felt very sorry for Albie's boyfriend. What a horrible struggle in not being able to be who you are because your bishop tells you that you won't enter the celestial kingdom if you act the way you were created. Laura definitely has his blood on her hands.

I have yet to figure out Anna's motive for not telling Bill that the baby wasn't his. She has to want to gain financially from it.

Bill's reaction to Barb when she told him that she knew about his premarital activities was typical Bill. When Margene kissed Ben, Bill flew off the handle and had her read scripture. When he gets caught doing more, he says he's an imperfect human and that's the end of it. UGH! What woman with any self-esteem would want to be with him?

Great episode last night. The hour flew by. I even liked Frank and Lois last night and I can't say that happens very often.

I LOVED last nights episode. And I really haven't been able to say that all season!

I think Laura will PAY dearly for her betrayal of Alby (at least he will see it that way).

I felt so badly for his BF (can't think of his name)......It seems as if he struggled with being gay for 30 years, but his religion was such an important part of his life, he felt being gay was wrong.....so sad.

I evn felt badly for Alby (for about a min) when he was talking to Nikki about them being broken, then Laura entered the room and poof, the good Alby was gone and evil Alby was back to tal;k about the sealings. And then at the end when he found his BF hanging and how heartbroken he was (although I have a feeling this will fuel an even more Alby to come out).

And the Sealing of Nikki's daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: I hope she fights JJ on custody and ends up raising her with Bill.

I must say Barb really hit the nail on the head, with Bill toward then end of the episode....about how all that they have been thru in the past 2 years, that it was Heavenly Father guiding Bill, but she now wonders if it was Bill jsut being selfish! Good for her!

This Ana thing will not turn out good!

Jam-packed episode last night, wasn't it? This show is actually getting better in this season. There are so many massive screw-ups in progress now you almost wonder how the show can continue much longer. Big fun:thumbsup2

Can someone enlighten me: after Bill is elected, he intends to let everyone know that he is a polygamist. Can't he be "recalled" at that point? And if that didn't happen, he would never get re-elected to his office. So why would he divulge, once and for all, that he is a polygamist?

My, how they have changed our perception of Bill. He's no longer the "family" man. You know, I was somewhat sympathetic to his & Barb's situation when she had cancer. Having Nikki come and help with their 3 young children made sense. Adding her as a wife doesn't seem natural to me, but I can almost see why (given Bill's upbringing). Adding Margene never made sense to me, although I like her character.

Um, wrong thread darlin! lol!
When Bill finds out Ben is in Mexico and in danger he's going to blow a gasket!!!! I'm guessing that will be when he pulls out of the campaign. I was diggin' Barb signing the contract against Bill's wishes and the Casino Tribal leaders are gonna love her now too! What happened to the baby Sarah had last episode? Did I miss something or are they just glossing that whole thing over? I thought it was funny to see her hold up her hand and show the ring when 'whats'er name' says, "I hear you just got married." Pretty casual reaction or maybe a reaction from someone who is immature. Can you just imagine the national reaction if someone in politics were to announce that they were polygamists???? Crazy!

Ohhh, I wanted to ask you all about the SHRIMP, :crazy2: did that not look HORRIFIC...I thought we were going to find them all suffering with food poisoning...that cocktail sauce and all. :crazy2:

Nikki dressed as a hooker...why did she come to the sealing looking like that? :confused3
I am so glad Nikki was able to locate Caraline (?) and save her from JJ...:scared:

And the GREENS are back......:sad2:

I know!! I don't get that part of it AT ALL!! Does he really think that people are just going to up and embrace polygamy simply because they "loved" him enough elect him? NO!! They're going to be furious that he, like all the other politicians out there, lied to them. He'll be lucky they don't come after him and burn his house down!

He's either woefully naive or ignorant (or the writers are) or there's some kind of plot twist coming that none of us have seen.

Didn't Lois explain to Barb's mother when they were courting Anna that Bill needed three, he doesn't need four unless he's going for a quorum? That would explain Margene.

They sure did love that jumbo shrimp! It was kind of nice seeing Lois having a happy moment over the jumbo shrimp and her favorite grandson, Ben.

I suppose Nikki's mini-skirt attire was her symbolic way of showing them that these sealings are like whoring out the women. She told her mother after her sealing (to JJ) she lost her soul or her soul died.

I'm pretty sure Jodean saw Selma Green on the other side of the Mexican fence when they collected the birds. Maybe Jodean was in on it, helping the Greens get to Lois and all.

Hollis Green sure was rockin' the Hanibal Lecter in a tropical climate look. :rotfl:

Barb's all out "it's OUR baby conceived in OUR marriage" stance was so over the top. Somehow she got the restaurant to give her Anna's new address? Barb was so adamant that Anna's baby was "their" baby too, she was scary.

Anna should get a restraining order against Barb if she keeps this up.
