It really seems like "big hair" is going to make a comeback!
I've been hiding all my pics from highschool (Auburn, NY Class of 1990 ROCKS!!) when I would EASILY go through a can of Aqua Net Extra Super Hold (the pink can!) in a week! Now my teasing and spraying talents might be in vogue once again (lol)
Did anyone else to "BIG hair"?? How high were your bangs! There was a girl in my grade whose bangs were 7 and 1/2 inches high (our math teacher actually measured them!) and stiff as a board. Mine were probably a modest 3- 4 inches...

OMG-

CR- tell us- is it true????

is big hair gonna be "IN"???????

I don't know if my budget will allow for all the hairspray I'd need.

I did the big hair thing back in the 80's, but didn't have to tease or use a lot of spray!! My hair is naturally curly, and naturally big. It still is, just a bit more controlled as hair products have gotten a lot better over the years. No longer do the bang thing, though! I will admit I love big hair!!!:thumbsup2

I cannot tell a lie. I LOVE big hair!!!! Of course I don't have any now but I sure did and I love it!!!!:goodvibes

Oh my goodness BIG HAIR!! Those were the days when women were WOMEN!! You had to be to carry around the weight of all that hair spray!! :lmao:

Anytime I wear my hair big I get tons of compliments I used to have the really high bangs in school too!

That is very bad news! I used to spend an hour on my hair, trying to get the maximum poufiness out of it. An hour later, despite the mouse and hairspray, it was back down to its usual flatness. Fortunately, now I'm too old to care about being "in".

We refered to "big hair" as camaro hair. You could see it sticking out of the T-tops of a camaro or firebird for miles around.:rotfl2:

I LOVED my big hair! I never measured my bangs, but they were up there. It used to take me a full hour to get my hair "just right."

I can still remember my "Big Hair" routine. First, I would towel dry and mousse it. Remember mousse? :) Then I would blow dry it out. Next came the curling iron and some hairspray sprizes on the hair that was being curled. Once that was done, I'd brush it out, bend over and turn my head upside down to get the most height. I would then quickly spray it when I flipped it back up and tease up the bangs. One more all-over spray and it was good to go!

Ah, the memories!

I can get really big hair. I have very think hair. When I see pictures from the early 90's I look like I have a giant helmet on.

When your short you look taller too:rotfl:

I wasn't just a child of the '80's, I was a "Jersey Girl" of the '80's, so you can imagine what my group of friends looked like back then.

And you couldn't just blow-dry your hair, you had to "scrunch" it. There was even "scrunch" spray. Can you imagine??

I have straight hair, but would spend many hours and dollars making my hairdresser do "spiral perms". Anyone remember those? I would have about 100 rods in my head, it took 2 bottles of perm solution and I had a stiff neck for about a week. But really I wanted my hair to look like Nancy Wilson from Heart. It never did, but a girl can dream...

I wonder if the white cowboy boots are going to come back too. :rotfl2:

Oh, my gosh yes, I have uber-fond memories of scrunch spray! I did do a spiral perm once and it set me back a full $80, and wow yes, it did take 4-ever and a day it seemed. Eighty bucks was a LOT back then!

Add me to the Nancy Wilson Hair Fan Club! Her hair was great.

Child of 80s, don't ever want to go back to those styles of hair or clothes.

Around here we call it "Revere Hair", typically the girls from Revere have that style hair.......

Also, there is a mom whose DD plays on the same teams with my DD and she has never gotten out of her 80s hair and makeup. Sorry I know it is mean of me, very shallow, but every time I see her, I cringe.

Well -- in that case - I should be in if I go back to big hair (or Jersey bangs as we called it) --- DH is restoring 2 firebirds :rotfl: :rotfl: Break out the gold chains and parachute pants.

Jersey Girl of the 80's/90's here :cool2:

I had many a spiral perm in the day and more mouse and hairispray than the local drug store but my hair still flattened out by the end of the day.

I still remember two sisters, Samantha and Marissa, that had the biggest hair in high school. One had 11" bangs and the other 13" bangs :scared1: They were hot

OMG...that is so funny to see that expression! I grew up in Boston and if you add in lots of dark eyeliner/mascara and shoulder pads you just described most of the girls in my class back in the 80's!:rotfl2:

I have really thick hair and could get very big hair. Took only a little "shaper" spray and it never moved. My hairdresser told me I probably gave her carpal tunnel doing my hair all those years!

Yeah, but which of you went out and got the "root perm" after it came out that Jon Bon Jovi did it to get that beautiful mane....:lovestruc
He never gave love a bad name! Yum...

ohh no.. I am to old for perms, picks and Aqua Net oh.. and Sun in for the highlights :lmao: :lmao: Jersey girl her also class of 1992. I think I would get carpal tunnel If I had to pick my hair that high again.
