This is for people who make room only reservations online.

I made a room only reservation online in September. At the end of September I called CRO to add $100 to my reservation. After checking my bank statement I notice the $100 payment had not gone through. So today I call CRO again and am told that I cannot make payments, requests or anything else since I made a room only reservation online. I asked the CM why then did another CM take my CC information and tell me I wouldnt receive a confirmation in the mail but that the payment had been applied to my reservation. He said, well I have no clue and can do nothing about that. I asked why it did not state on their website that I would not be able to "do" anything to my reservation. Again he had no clue. He said that room only reservations were to be paid at check-in and could not be paid ahead of time.

I went back online to my reservation and the site itself says this
Existing Reservations
Already have an existing reservation? Enter your confirmation number (It's 8 digits long) and phone number below and select whether you want to view your reservation or make a payment. If your confirmation number is 12 digits long, please call (407) 939-7429 and our reservation agents will be happy to assist y

I did send them an email about this so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what they say. I really dont understand why they wouldnt want the room paid early. As for requests, I still plan to fax my request a few days before our arrival.

Three things,

Isn't there a section on the website that allows you to make payments on your reservation?

I thought all online reservations were done with the WDTC and that you could just call them and apply payments?

I thought all reservations made online through WDTC had to be paid 45 days in advance?

Let us know how everything turns out.

That part I quoted in the first post is supposed to have a link to click to make the payment I guess but the only clickable thing is a "go" button. And it just takes you to your reservation.

:( Guess not.

8 digits ::yes::

If you have an 8 digit conf. # then that is through the WDTC and they should require advance payment 45 days before your check in.

Have you called them? If you call 407-W-DISNEY and select that you want to modify your reservation and then enter your reservation number when you are prompted-it should connect you with someone from WDTC. Make sure you ask the CM if they are travel co. and not CRO.

I don't want to see this reservation get dropped because someone told you the wrong information.

Let us know what you find out.

Since they've implemented their new computer systems, DisneyWorld.com room only reservations are done using the CRO policies. (1 night due for deposit, balance to be paid at check in)

As for making payments, if their site says that you can make payments, then they have to honor that. Make a printout of whatever screen says that. (If it's in one of those smaller windows where you can't select print, right click, and print will be an option)

As long as you've made a deposit, your reservation won't be dropped.

Actually, we made a reservation with CRO in February and paid our deposit with a CC on the phone at the time we made the reservation. We got our conf in the mail, showing that our balance due was $0 and our deposit was paid. We were then switched to AKL (original reservation was for POFQ) in May, received a new conf stating the deposit was paid and no balance due until check-in. Well we called to modify that reservation about 2 weeks ago and were told that we must be calling to make a payment and without that our reservation would have been cancelled the next day! Well, we couldn't figure this out, especially since it was an arbitrary day to cancel it (not 45 days before or anything logical), and especially since we had our conf stating we didn't owe anything and that they received our deposit. We also hadn't heard anything from Disney since May when we switched resorts, and you'd think they'd call to tell you something like that. Well, we paid the balance they claimed we owed, though we didn't really believe it, just to be sure the reservation wasn't cancelled. So Cinders, I would definitely call back and check to see why they can't accept a payment, especially since your reservation might be one where payment is required 45 days out. You wouldn't want to hear a surprise like we did or worse than that, arrive and find out it has been cancelled.

While the computer system switches have changed the way they handle reservations at DisneyWorld.com, they've also created some problems for the agents too.

Justhat, I had a very similar situation just now. My first reservation was at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I had to make a deposit of $323. I then switched to a Beach Club water view, which was some $327. I then immediately switched that to a Beach Club standard view, and was quoted $274/night.

My confirmation slip came, and said that my standard view rate was $327/night, and that my $323 deposit had been received but that I didn't owe anything else. Actually, if their system was right, I'd owe $4. I had to call back, and basically get snotty with the agent on the phone because he wouldn't believe me that I had been quoted $274/night! He found the rate I was talking about, and made the switch.

My advice is simply that no matter how you booked, watch everything Disney sends you and make sure it's all on the up and up!!! :)
